More seriously, what games interest you? I may try to start something again, and I've had good play experiences with you.

Re: OOC: Clarifications and Chatter: Four To Doomsday

With GMs/Players I know I'm a lot more open - mainly skill-based games - but games I have experience in (other than this one) are:
DnD up to and including 3.5 and Pathfinder 1E
Buffy RPG from Eden Studios
Shadowrun - not sure which edition I have
Star Wars Saga edition

Might be some others that slip my mind currently; but those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

Hi all!

If you get something going I'd be up for joining in, depending on what it is.

I got distracted by something today and ended up reading through a chunk of the game from its RPGnet incarnation, with the Traveller & Stanley attempting to prevent the interstellar U.S. election from being hijacked.  Good times.

Yes they were!

What do you like? I want to run Mage The Awakening of all things, or some Star Wars (FFG, although I could be talked into D6 or D20 Saga Edition.)

Also, if you *ever* run Dr Who again, I am down, Trav or a companion or whatever.

Gosh.  There are so many games out there, and so many that you can get digitally for what is effectively a song.  Humble Bundle / Bundle of Holding are a drug.

Mage is something I've never really grokked well enough to get into, alas.  Star Wars could be a thing.  I think that what I need is a pitch to get the wheels spinning; if there's an idea that sounds good, I imagine it would be easier to find something mutually agreeable that it could be run in.

I suspect I'd have to get over Who burnout to really enjoy running a game again.  Chris Chibnall defeated me.

Only Star Wars I have access to is Saga edition.

I do like Mage: the Awakening and all that line; but don't have the rules for them.

Hi! I'm still around. I got burned out on RP and cut back a lot. So of course I got interested again and have been running a D&D 3.5 game on the Forgotten Realms Wiki of all things. :D

I do miss DnD 3.5. Haven't played a game for that in years, as most of my regular groups switched to Pathfinder.

I gave up 3.5 years ago. Reach out to me at enthusiastic.grog@gmail.com, and I will enable you to do the Corsair with gaming books. Come on, it's what they would have wanted.

Watch this space for a game pitch. I'll do either Star Wars D6 or Star Wars Saga D20 (with some house rules). If you guys like it, I'll create a new game.

Trav - Personally, I prefer the idea of Mage: the Awakening; but don't have the rules myself. However, my "kid" (currently 20 so not technically a kid) would also be really into the Star Wars idea.

I'd be down for the Star Wars.  Not sure about a character idea.

I don't know Star Wars they way I do Doctor Who; but I could be up for the Star Wars game - especially as it's basically an alternate timeline past a certain point.

Are you both wedded to D20 Saga? I'm thinking D6 might be easier for online play. There's also FFG but that has overhead.

Re: OOC: Clarifications and Chatter: Four To Doomsday

I'm not particularly enamored of D6 games - part of the thing for me of Saga (which may be true of the more recent versions as well; but not of West End games) is the ease of many different races/character classes. From my recollection, West End games also really makes the difference in power levels of Jedi and non-Jedi even more apparent.

Suspect you'll also find it a lot harder to find anyone else to fill out the party if West End games is your system of choice.

Re: OOC: Clarifications and Chatter: Four To Doomsday

I like D6 better myself, and D20 is a lot easier to make one's character badly in, but I certainly see the point about which system would draw better.  (I like FFG best of them all, but it's both the least accessible and the clunkiest to run online I suspect, since each and every roll is a potential player-GM negotiation about the outcome.)

Shrug.  It's not like the flaws of DWAITAS kept us from having fun with it.

Mind... if you are at all inclined to go in a more rules-light direction, you might consider this, which is a pretty easy PBTA-derived rule set.

If you folks are familiar with FFG, I'll do that! It's been my go to for years.

I like PBTA games, but I have no idea how to run one, with the moves and such.

Star Worlds isn't actually set up to use moves, PBTA was just the basis for character stats and rough resolution of actions.  In any case, I just brought it up in case you thought something simpler might be better to use.

As I believe willvr gave a hard pass to FFG (and I think using it for PbP could be a mess) I think the best option all around is Saga.

Re: OOC: Clarifications and Chatter: Four To Doomsday

I haven't given a hard pass to FFG, I just don't know it, at all.

I think the issues with Saga are overall not that bad with good players - much like the various DnDs; a lot better if your focus is RP rather than hack and slash. I think West End is overall better; but I do think the difference between a Jedi and non-Jedi is massive - which is kind of the point of it; whilst Saga makes an attempt to make them balanced. Whether you want that is a different question.

Hey Smoke Alarm, any thoughts? If not, then it will be Star Wars Saga.

I'll be linking the new game here shortly.

Sorry, I've been sick and busy and didn't have time to look into it. But SWSE is the only one of those systems I do know. I'll look into it, think about what I want to do, and get back to you.
