Re: A Fortuna Drabble

Smoke Alarm gets an honorable mention in the RIFTS game I am in -

Lewis DiBono:
Lew looks to Ethan, then at everyone else.  Don't anyone go wandering about.  This ship is far larger than you can imagine and you WILL get lost.  I've been in here before, and I'm not sure I won't get lost.

"Everyone, hand me your phones and coms."  Those who do so get a quick mod to their phones, so they are now superphones. "Now your phones can talk anywhere in time and space, at least in this dimension. You could be in the Thundercloud galaxy and I could be in Michigan and you can reach me. And that guy there? Number 17? That scutter is the usual guide. He'll take you down to the bedrooms, the lounge, the library and the dispensary. If a door has anything posted or spraypainted that says "DON'T GO IN", "DONT TUCH" or "DO NO ENTER", trust me, its for your own good. Also, you may see occasional graphiti and arrows - my companion Smoke Alarm put them there. Follow them and they'll bring you back here. You can also always call me." She smiles.

Talkiphone box is always Smoke Alarm or any Blue Kang's home.

I'd say imagine if Sereth left something behind, but he's too organised to forget something.

I can imagine him leaving behind artwork, histories, a warrior's shrine, something samurai-esque.

Hint hint, Gary!

I've missed running it more than once.  At the time, trying to keep it breathing had burned me out quite a bit.

The PCs were great, and I loved all the "Travcanon" meta commentary about how the game proper were stories in an actual show.

Re: A Fortuna Drabble

Travcanon - Because Michelle Yeoh is also busy with her new Star Trek show and other projects, ATTT has been put on haitus.

Blake Lively has been making noises on social media about coming back for fill in episodes. She's shot back against canon-monkeys. "This is Doctor Who! We don't need to make sense!" Both Yeoh and Lively has been supportive of Jodie Whittacker and Jo Martin. Chris Bell, one of the writers at BBC Toronto, has categorically stated that Jo Martin's Doctor is *not* Trav in some form of disguise.

The ATTT Team has said that the latest revelations at the end of Season 12 of Doctor Who would have no effect on Trav Lore, at least for now.

Blake Lively on Sacha Dawan - "Oh dear god, so sexy. But Blonde Trav would have drilled him point blank." On Twitter Yeoh opined, "I would love to act opposite Sacha Dawan. Make it happen, BBC Toronto!"

A new RIFTS animated series is running on HBO. Its unclear where this fits in Travlore, but Blake Lively is voicing the 5th Traveller opposite a large cast. However, explicitly call-outs in dialogue have been made to ATTT, with fan-favorite Smoke Alarm being mentioned specifically.

re-destroyed Gallifrey.  Though it won't stick, more's the pity.  Why does everyone want these terrible, terrible people to be in the universe?  I'll take the Parliament of Time, thanks.

I was unhappy that Chibnall swerved back to lean on big revelations about the personal lore of the Doctor.  However, if he was going to do that, I do admire his chutzpah.

Particularly in flipping the bird to Morbius Doctors deniers. :)

I like the idea that the Marshall doesnt like this interference with history, not one bit. The Master's destruction of Gallifrey is interfering with the Time War.

But we have more than enough of our own story. Trav and the Beast need to have their shown down. The fate of the Phaidon still needs to be determined.

Re: A Fortuna Drabble

I'll be honest, I was never particularly fond of the OOC banter about this really being a TV show. It took me out of the game, and made it harder for me to care about the characters. Just like I'm not really fond of shows that consistently break the fourth wall - I acknowledge a lot of people like it, but for me it distracts from my imemersion factor a bit - easier if it had been it's own thread rather than as part of the who spoilers category.

Also, I've kind of given up on the new series. It's always been a tricky balance to maintain between preferring the classic series but able to enjoy the new series for what it offered, but Chibnall makes it really hard to balance, for me. Won't go more into it than this, as I know some of you really prefer the new series, and I don't like the classic vs new arguments that I see cropping up all over the place.

I can understand that.

The new series issue was solved for me – I took so long watching it, it's no longer on ABC iView. So, I missed the rest of the season, but eh.

Im moving talk about spoilers here, as per Kalath's request.

Keith Patrick Harris was so fucking amazing as The Toymaker.

I really enjoyed the 3 specials, the last one most of all.

So, when is Trav getting her Bi-Generation?

Re: A Fortuna Drabble

It kind of reminds me of a TARDIS interior picture that you'd posted a long time ago and I sort of have the same problem with it -- it's huge and impressive and there's no useful reason I can see for it to be that big.  They're going to have some split-second operation to pull off that's going to fail because it takes too long to run from the door to the console :)

What I want out of a TARDIS interior is MORE ROOMS.  You needn't even build anything, just use doors to connect up lots of repurposed sets or found locations.

Trav Cosplay

I did mention a Pink Kang tribe at some point.

That reminds me of Romana's costume in Destiny of the Daleks, which is blatantly the Doctor's costume but in pink and white.
