A Fortuna Drabble

Boy, Orphan 55 was bad. Season 11 was merely fine, and Orphan 55 eas such a letdown after Spycraft 1&2. Hoping the next story isnt shit.

The Guardian:
I quite hope they do not write him to play bonkers as much as his recent predecessors.  The most I've seen Dhawan is in Iron Fist, where he absolutely *smolders*.

Dhawan strikes me as an intelligent actor and he has enough awareness of Who that he will do a good job with the character.

Well, come on, out with it.

I know all of you have opinions and feelings.

I for one love Jo Martin's Doctor, especially that she is a call out to 6, among many other things.

More Gary being preiscent -

The return of the Cybermen and the Cyber-empire that Gary shows in this game is confirmed as canonical in Season 12, Episode 7. Except a cyber faction is being used to change history. IF we were still playing it could lead to a groovy story line.

Re: A Fortuna Drabble

The idea parked in the back of my mind was that the Cyberiad collective would turn up to the convocation of the Parliament of Time, having been invited there by Trav.  There were going to be three showing up, speaking for different controllers on the Committee guiding the group mind - an old school Eighties model, a 2000s version, and a model with a highly sophisticated humanlike chassis.  Internal conflict among the Committee would have been one of the problems for the PCs to unravel.

Re: A Fortuna Drabble

Trawling through old posts on RPG.net some time ago I found this.  It might be amusing for those popping in to look at the thread.  It's from the game that introduced Trav before I took over running it; it's the "TARDIS reveal" for the PC I had in that game, the Shaolin monk Zheng Ru:

***

Ru takes a few slow steps inside the Traveller's TARDIS, gazing wide-eyed off at the incredible span of space visible inside and marveling at the miscellany of strange items contained inside it. Then he feels the placid humming from the central console, and he feels a wide smile spreading over his face as he understands.

He bows deeply to the central console. "You honor me, friend TARDIS."

Then he turns to the Traveller, beaming. "He is a living thing, isn't he? The blue box is his body, and that has a shape and a size and is bounded in space. But he has a spirit, too, that is infinite and transcends the body, even while the body contains it. It is a generous soul, Traveller, that will welcome a stranger within his spirit as your TARDIS does."

Great to hear from you Gary. I'm at home on Covid lockdown and showing symptoms. Dr Who talk is indeed most welcome.

Imagine the most horrible flu you have ever had, including a pneuomonia that struggles not to go away, and multiply it by 10.

Seriously, I feel bad for anyone who has this and has any kind of health issues. I am 53 and relatively healthy and this has kicked my as. STAY INDOORS, WASH YOUR HANDS.

Yeah, that's a relief to hear.

I work from home and don't go out much anyway, so I haven't been affected much. But now I really want to go out.

Re: A Fortuna Drabble

Until the end of next week, I am the designated victim representative for my team that has to work at our client's office.  However, it's very sparsely populated -- I think the main reason why the client is requiring this is for guaranteed support in case their VPN suddenly melts down -- and I have certainly been keeping sanitation firmly in mind.  They're a major U.S internet provider, so they have some call for being an essential service.

I live in the burbs outside of St. Louis, so I'm able to get a 3 mile walk in while navigating around maybe a half dozen people over the course of it.  So far, so good.

I go for walks in the park and play Pokemon Go. I did a raid with a guy from a distance through a fence. Ironically, the park is now full of people who certainly weren't going there before isolation.

Re: A Fortuna Drabble

We honestly haven't been hit as bad in Australia. Not even here in Sydney - and all the other states finally get their excuse to shut their borders to NSW tourists!

I'm currently working from home, and working for an employer unlikely to downsize during this; but I know more people hit by sudden unemployment than the disease, which sucks.

Follow your locality's isolation guidelines. DO NOT BREAK QUARANTINE. This shit can kill you, and even if you feel healthy, it sheds like no one's business. You are protecting yourself and others by engaging in social distancing and isolation.

Again, please engage in social distancing and your locality's isolation guidelines. The fact that your park is filling up with knuckleheads means that this is dangerous to you. Stay inside!

Re: A Fortuna Drabble

Our government won't go full lockdown, they have a bunch of ever-changing dos and don'ts no one can keep track of. While some people ignore them and go mingle, most people ignore them and go extra safe. I go out for a walk every few days for the exercise, but everyone is pretty good at staying well apart at the park. But being stuck at home is getting more and more people out in the neighbourhood, which is good in a way.

My sister's a teacher, so she's paranoid about catching Covid-19, yet still has Mum over babysitting and homeschooling the kids. I haven't seen my niece and nephew in weeks because of isolation, even though I haven't encountered another human being outside immediate family in months. :(

I've seen up to Praxeus. Chibnall continues to disappoint, and it's a struggle to go on.

Re: A Fortuna Drabble

Smoke Alarm gets an honorable mention in the RIFTS game I am in -

Lewis DiBono:
Lew looks to Ethan, then at everyone else.  Don't anyone go wandering about.  This ship is far larger than you can imagine and you WILL get lost.  I've been in here before, and I'm not sure I won't get lost.

"Everyone, hand me your phones and coms."  Those who do so get a quick mod to their phones, so they are now superphones. "Now your phones can talk anywhere in time and space, at least in this dimension. You could be in the Thundercloud galaxy and I could be in Michigan and you can reach me. And that guy there? Number 17? That scutter is the usual guide. He'll take you down to the bedrooms, the lounge, the library and the dispensary. If a door has anything posted or spraypainted that says "DON'T GO IN", "DONT TUCH" or "DO NO ENTER", trust me, its for your own good. Also, you may see occasional graphiti and arrows - my companion Smoke Alarm put them there. Follow them and they'll bring you back here. You can also always call me." She smiles.
