Out of Character

Magnus is the only one who passed his perception roll to detect the new bugbear.  Undoubtedly he is going to say something about it, but everyone else needs to roll vs. Will to avoid being stunned by the sudden appearance.  Combat Reflexes nullifies the need to make this roll.

I take it I should hold off posting to let Magnus react, then make my Will roll (though Rolf has CR and does not need to roll)

Over to you.  You can feel free to just go on a ‘premonition’ if you are worried it might hold things up.

Also, I forgot to mention, but let’s do 1 round of combat for this post.

How many rounds will Runt be mentally stunned?

It will be an IQ roll to recover.  So 1 try per round until you succeed.

Thanks Giles, even if it doesn't work the attempt is appreciated.

Rolf is trying to impose himself in front of Runt, but his current move is only a 3 right now and I'm not sure if he can get there on one round.

Crap! Sajaa didn't think to protect Runt... I guess her "Bloodlust" has gotten the better of her...  Sorry Runt.  Hopefully my crossbow will distract the brute!

Giles, I noted your attempt for a sacrificial defense on Runt's part, though the single round before the attack came didn't give you enough movement points to turn all the way around, let alone to get in front of Runt.  I opted to go with the other action you stated, readying your wolf statue, which limited you to a step and ready action rather than a full move.

Aye that's no problem! It was just an attempt if he could maange it - i wasn't sure if he had enough movement to get infront of Runt.

Hey DM, I forget... am I supposed to be rolling attacks and stuff?  I haven't been and if given the choice would prefer not to (I like the suspense), but if I'm the only one you've been rolling for I shall happily comply.

You don't need to roll if you don't want to.

There may be times where I require a roll from you in the text of the post, but otherwise, feel free to leave the rolling to me if you want.  It often actually avoids sticky situations like where a player will roll "rolled 9 using 3d6 with rolls of 1,4,4.  Broadsword attack." then post in the text of the post "All out attack +2 damage extra effort +2 damage targeting the vitals."  When none of those details are included in the roll, it makes it appear like the player is picking their tactics based on how successful the roll is, vice choosing their tactic before the roll happens.

Yup, I'll leave the rolls to you unless otherwise instructed. Thanks.

Re: Out of Character

Well I thought I had two... but they are not in my Character sheet now, so either I have forgotten their use or the GM pulled them for a reason I am not aware of.

Re: Out of Character

Hey DM and Rolf, is Sajaa aware that the wolves are Rolf's magic?  If not, and she thinks they're regular wolves that just charged onto the scene, she'll probably be alarmed by a squad of slavering wolves and go on the offensive/defensive.  But if she knows they're safe, spell-cast wolf allies, she'll hold her attack.
