Re: Night 5: Look out Gorna, here comes Team Arda-Nuff again

Minmorc emerges from Two-fer-one's shop with the items he wanted to trade for – a spiked breastplate with big, spiked, shoulder pieces and a magic backpack. He happily swaggers off to trade in the load of gnoll gear and to shop for other things as well and returns much later with pots of paint, brushes and who knows what else. A new cloak is obvious and it seems he has decided on a bit of costume jewellery as well as he now has a pearl set in the back of his left spiked gauntlet.

Moffdust, Bulldust, Dregz and Oopses visit every trader with wands, scrolls and potions to trade. Moffa and Bully duck off to visit Two-fer-one during this time as well and organise to return tomorrow night to complete their new deal.  Moffdust and Bully trade a lot of their coins for scrolls and potions, while Dregz finds a couple of wands that he gets excited enough about to buy them, and a couple of cases of crossbow bolts.

Oopses spends most of his time trailing around after Dregz but does spend a while drooling over a marvellous collection of cooking equipment. It looks like this trader has accumulated a collection of the best and most valuable kitchenware that the former human population of Gorna had to offer. Sadly, like the rest of Gorna he has no food to sell and almost no customers either.

Jurz buys an exquisitely worked darkwood shield and

Riza buys a new quiver to hold her bow and arrows then trots off to visit the poison-merchant she located here the night before.

Raven trades her share of the loot, the gold statue of Yeenoghu and her shortsword for some beautiful chain shirt armour, a beautifully balanced rapier, a masterwork light crossbow and a case of crossbow bolts.

Grakk trades in his studded leather armour and greataxe to upgrade to a much finer greataxe and well-crafted, antique breastplate armour that probably spent decades gathering dust in some human lord's great hall before Gorna fell to the invading hoards. He also gets Moffdust to help him buy half a dozen potions to cure wounds, as well.

Many of the group visit the dark dwarf gem merchant to trade coins for gems and jewellery, as well.

Finally, after everyone has spent a couple of hours in the marketplace, Slipsnotz returns. He struggles a bit as he carries a beautifully crafted longspear that is 3 times his own height. A bright red pennant 3 feet long is fastened just below the spearhead. It looks like there is some sort of golden motif on the pennant but it is not identifiable while the pennant hangs limply along the vertical spear shaft. He proudly presents the weapon to Bulldust in exchange for the bugbear's magic ring.

OOC: Does anyone want to add any more purchases before we move on?

Re: Night 5: Look out Gorna, here comes Team Arda-Nuff again

Bulldust looks around enviously at everyone elses new fighting gear and starts to worry that Slipsnotz has shot through on him.  He hoots with excitement when the goblin returns with the beautifully crafted longspear.  He hoists it proudly and shakes off the goblin if he's still attached.  "Youse done good Slippy."  He lowers the spear so the red pennant hangs true and looks at the golden motif.  "Who'd ya steal it off a?"

Re: Night 5: Look out Gorna, here comes Team Arda-Nuff again

Minmorc will find a quiet place to chew some more pork jerky and work uninterrupted. With tongue out in concentration he slathers red paint onto the armor and once it has been liberally coated will focus his powers, causing the paint to smooth and dry.

When he returns to the group Minmorc is different, he stands taller and the shoulder pads make him seem even larger still. He has wrapped the cloak around himself in a sort of toga, his Greatsword and longbow protrude from one of the magic packs side pockets, even his new skull cap has been painted red.

"So, we's off to dis horney wood den?"

Even though he has but two sticks and some lengths of metal, Dregz seems quite happy with the exchange.  The little goblin priest sits happily, hugging his Holy Book, nodding his head proudly as each of his tribe enjoy their new purchases.

When he sees Jurz, however, Dregz leaps to his feet, happily handing over his acquired collection of silver coins to the druid.

Re: Night 5: Look out Gorna, here comes Team Arda-Nuff again

Once Jurz spotted the exquisitely carved buckler he just knews that he has to have it, especially when he saw that the darkwood has been painstakingly etched all over with tiny hand carved patterns.  There is a background of Holly, Oak, Hawthorn and Ash leaves, with Ivy vines growing along the length of the buckler.  The vines are laden with delicious looking Apples, Berries and Hazelnuts.  A true masterpiece of the shield-makers’ art.

Dangling from the front of Rog’s saddle are a strange collection of charms.  All hang from string, chains or ribbons and they jingle and clack softly as the dog moves.  As he waits for everyone to get back Jurz starts to pack them away, examining each one carefully before wrapping it and stowing it safely.  There are painted wooden sun, a moon and star (that might once have been sold as astrological charms by a human somewhere) a large polished acorn and a dried chestnut on a string that might once have been some child’s toy.  There is a fat female goblin, sitting cross legged,  suspended on  a chain that runs all the way through her, a carved wooden boar and some sort of wolf figurine on a leather thong.

When Drgz offers him more silver pieces for the O’Baddy tree, Jurz frowns.  Not because Dregz is offering the money but because he has run out of little bottles to put the tree pee in.  ”We’s needs to get more of der little bottles.” he says ”But dere is a gobo over dere selling dem.” he says pointing back into the market.  ”Does anyone else have der silvers for de tree?” he asks trying to work out how many of the little bottles he will need.

Riza returns spends a little bit of time preparing a few arrows with her new poisons and then wanders over to Jurz and enquires if he still has the ample supply of arrows he can use to re stock his new quiver. Her bow and the tip of her spear can be seen poking out the top of the quiver along with a decent selection of arrows.

She also passes over a bag of silver coins for the pee tree (bag contains 100 silver coins)

"Yes.  It is very red an will hide all de blood splashes good." Jurz agrees with Riza when she complements Minmorc's new clothes. But then, Jurz still prefers the greens and browns of the countryside, rather than  bright red that will stand out in the woods, like a berry against the foliage.

As he speaks he rummages around behind Rog's saddle and pulls out five quivers, that between then hold 90 small arrows and passes them over to Riza.  "Dere youse goes." he says pleased to get rid of the bulk from Rog's load "Deres some good ones in dere somewheres" he says refering to the 5 masterwork arrows that are in, somewhere, with the others.

The red pennant on Bulldust's new longspear has a golden emblem of a flaming sword.

Slipsnotz is quite indignant when Bulldust insinuates he might have stolen the longspear.

"I's not stoled it! I's traded for it with the guardses at the palace! Fair tradings, not stealings!"

Re: Night 5: Look out Gorna, here comes Team Arda-Nuff again

A few minutes after Slipsnotz returns and as the group are just deciding to return to the temple, a squad of ogres marches into the marketplace. There are ten of them and they all have bright red tabards with the golden flaming sword emblem over the heavy hide armour they wear. Each carries a greatclub of much better quality than is typical for their kind and each has a long quiver of 6 javelins slung across their backs. Their leader carries a large greatsword instead of a greatclub.

It only takes a moment for the ogres to spot the group and they march straight toward you. As they get closer you soon recognise one of the ogres in the middle of the squad and he recognises the group, too. It is Die-Arda, the leader of the ogres previously manning the lookout post south of the Oytwood.

"Oh, itz youz lot again!" he exclaims.

The ogre at the front waves him forward and Die-Arda steps forward while others fan out behind him.

"So, youz lot been bustin' dog-headz 'ere inna Gorna? Now youz gonna comes wid us. Queen Moldavite sends us to brings youz in, an' dat means now!"

Riza takes fills her quiver with the arrows passed to her by Jurz, she wanders over and asks Minmorc to store the two extra quivers of arrows in his fancy backpack as she can't carry the extra arrows.. Seeing the ogres means trouble but she tries to make sure she keeps a low profile. Looks like everything is going to get interesting again, she thought to herself she wouldn't mind meeting the queen but this is probably not the best way to meet
