Re: Day 4: Out of the Oytwood at last

Having gutted one ogre Minmorc begins shouting "for the shinies!" But the hit from the next ogre in line considerably dampens his spirits. Taking a five foot step to the north east Minmorc will reach over the top of his treasured meat shields, I mean brothers in arms to take a jab at Ogre 3.

Jurz holds Moffa Frog close, but not close enough that she can kiss him "Youze gets ready to kiss Oopses. "  he murmurs "An I hopes you have learned da frog jumping fing proper." he adds as he reaches as low down as he can and flips the little frog behind him.

Looking Up he grins nastily and charges Rog straight towards Ogre no 1.

Re: Day 4: Out of the Oytwood at last

Dregz shrieks like an Elf having a bad hair day as the ogre's club lands but inches from him, but it seems that affront does not cower the little goblin, but riles him, for he places his Holy Book reverently on the ground before unfurling his sling and hunting in his pocket for a couple of the remaining metal slugs.  "How dare dey !" the priest demands.

Re: Day 4: Out of the Oytwood at last

She ducked down flinching when the great club came flying over and nearly crushed them, but landing just in front of them. She used Dregz' scream of outrage to cover any whisper of sound she might make as she moved sideways then forward a bit to get a good target in sight. She loaded a bullet into her sling, then let it go aimed at the ogre next to the dead one hoping to cause some damage or at least distract it long enough that her friends could take it down.

01:08, Today: Raven rolled 5 using 1d4+1. damage if any.
01:08, Today: Raven rolled 19 using 1d20+4. ranged attack (sling).
01:07, Today: Raven rolled 21 using 1d20+7. move silently.

Grakk ducks as the ogre's greatclub sails overhead then he bellows his war cry and steps forward to hack at the ogre with his greataxe. Then he follows through by lowering his head and driving his horns into the ogre's gut as well!

Re: Day 4: Out of the Oytwood at last

Bully looks a bit undecided for a moment as he weighs his shovel in one hand and the longspear Minmorc found for him in the other hand. The longspear feels just a bit heavier, so he drops the shovel and jabs at ogre 3 with the longspear. All that thinking didn't help his concentration, unfortunately, so his thrust is not aimed very well.

Re: Day 4: Out of the Oytwood at last

OOC: Partial update ... Oopses, Arlein and Moffdust have not acted yet this round.

Riza tries to shoot at the closest ogre (O1) again but her fingers slip and the shot goes wild, narrowly missing Minmorc instead.

The grievously wounded Minmorc backs off a step or two behind Bulldust and jabs over the bugbear's head at the unarmed ogre (O3) with his greatspear Vera. He hits and seriously wounds the ogre.

Jurz drops Moffa-frog in the grass behind him then urges Rog onwards in a reckless charge at the westernmost ogre (O1). The ogre sees him coming and swings his greatclub low to meet dog and rider before they reach him. He shouts something in a harsh language as he swings. [Language unknown: "Ti!"] However, pure survival instinct kicks in and somehow Rog manages to bound right over the swinging club and avoid the devastating blow it threatened to deliver. The action puts dog and rider off their aim and both completely miss their target.

Dregz and Raven are both startled by the ogre's greatclub landing right in front of them. Dregz places his precious Holy Book on the ground and pulls out his sling but Raven scurries sideways with sling already in hand to find a better spot to shoot from. Her sling bullet flies true and hits the eastern ogre (O3) in the chest.

Grakk swings his greataxe as he quickly steps forward to attack the weaponless ogre (O3). His greataxe slashes open the ogre's belly and the great brute practically folds forward as he collapses right on top of the minotaur's horns. When Grakk pushes the ogre off and aside, the ogre crashes to the ground, obviously very dead.

Bulldust was just about to spear that ogre as well but when the ogre falls he swings his spear toward the western ogre (O1) instead and steps forward just far enough to lunge at the big brute. However the last moment change of plan throws off his aim and his longspear misses the ogre.

OOC: Main game map updated. Bless cast by Minmorc last round gives everyone +1 on attack rolls for 9 more rounds.

That ogre (O1) scowls but does indeed disengage and backs away to rejoin Die-Arda.

"Orright, looks like youz is Arda-Nuff after all! Youz can keeps youz shinies," Die-Arda announces.

Re: Day 4: Out of the Oytwood at last

Expecting Minmorc to respond to the Ogre, Jurz moves along, behind the bigs, until he comes to the fallen ogres.  Dismounting he starts to inspect them for signs of life, death and anything interesting.

But most importantly he is looking to see if either of them are still breathing.  He still needs a live one for Moffa.

"His name is Ugleemug. Good name for him!" he tells his friends.

"Looks like we got a new name, too. We's Arda-Nuff!"

The goblin priest scowls at the two surviving Ogres.  The look is indeed one that might well kill ... but Dregz chooses to stay his hand at the moment in the hope that the pair will clear off.

"Arda-Nuff," he echoes softly, vindictively.

Minmorc's demand suprises and delights Dregz, causing a snort of laughter to erupt from the little goblin.  "Youse got big stones," he tells the orc approvingly, moved to collect his Holy Book, tucking it under his arm and takes a step around the huge club to advance to Minmorc's side.  "Youse need a cure, big guy ?  Bargrivyek approves of youse !"

Re: Day 4: Out of the Oytwood at last

Jurz checks the two fallen ogres but finds both to be truly dead.

Minmorc applies a wand to begin to speed up the healing of his wounds. His challenge to Die-Arda reveals the ogres have no treasure other than the elf junk dumped in their midden heap. Dregz moves forward to offer Bargrivyek's help to close Minmorcs's wounds as well.

Grakk interprets Die-Arda's giantish instructions and chuckles as he translates the other ogre's name as Ugleemug. Bulldust can't ignore such a funny name and begins to tease the ogre about it. He also mimic's Minmorc's previous tactic of setting his spear in case the ogre gets too upset about the joke. Moffa-frog hops up to join Bulldust, perhaps hoping to impart a bit of sisterly advice before it is too late.

It probably comes as no surprise to anyone else when Ugleemug the ogre (O1) finally snaps and charges forward with an angry roar. He charges straight at Bulldust. Bully levels the spear and skewers the ogre through his belly as he rushes forward. It is a grievous wound but not enough to stop the ogre and he still swings his greatclub at Bulldust as he closes in. The blow is on target but deflects off Bully’s magical black chainshirt armour, leaving the bugbear miraculously unscathed.

Die-Arda snorts in disgust, "Dey's all so carkin' dumb! Why's youz ogre boyz all too carkin' dumb to live?" He turns his back and retreats inside the rocky outcrop without a backward glance.
