Once Gregz announces that Raven is only asleep, Jurz relaxes and turning, slips the book with the soft.paper into his saddlebags.  Climbing down he waits by Rog's head, idly petting the animal's chest and neck in appreciation of his patience.

Night 12: The Sea of Dust

Bulldust has fanned away the smoke and now holds his breath and goes into the room to see what was in the final chest and to drag out the chest with all the gold to the central area where it can be divided up.

Night 12: The Sea of Dust

As the smoke clears away Bulldust holds his breath and heads back into the room, then drags the closest chest over to the doorway. He can't pull it right out of the room without dislodging the bedframe prop that is holding up the spiked trap panel above the doorway, so he is obliged to pass the items out to those waiting in the corridor outside. By the time he is finished the smoke has completely cleared and Raven has woken up again from her nap.

The items that Bully passed out are a set of gold and silver temple ornaments, all bearing a holy symbol that consists of a crescent moon in front of a new moon surrounded by about 14 stars.  There are two silver candelabras, four silver candlesticks, a silver candle snuffer, a silver incense urn with holes in the lid, a large silver tray, a gold chalice, a gold plate, a gold bowl, a gold ceremonial dagger, one larger gold and silver wall ornament and two smaller gold and silver wall ornaments. The general consensus among those in the group that have any idea of the value of such things is that this collection might be worth about 5000 gold coins in human lands.

Bully heads back in to fetch the items from the fourth chest.

There are also two other chests in there full of old silver and copper coins.

"Dis is good treasure Moffa!  Plenty fer everyone."  Bulldust grins at his little green sister.  After emptying the treasure chest, he pushes it back from the doorway and goes to look in the final chest.  He's not much bothered with the silver and copper coins but suggests "Deres lots ov silver for da tree-pee Jurzie."

"Dat's just wot I was finking!  Well done Bully.  Wiv all dis finking yous will turn into a Saucier like Moffa or a priest like Dregz"  However, before he goes to claim silver pieces, he sorts through the temple ornaments, looking for something small with the Moons and Starts holy symbol on, that will eventually go on his stampy stick.  "What god is dese for, Dregzy?" he asks his compatriot.

The chest of copper coins is nearly full and probably contains about 50,000 coins (500gp value, weighing 1000 pounds). The chest of silver coins is just under half full and probably contains about 20,000 coins (2,000gp value, weighing 400 pounds).

Dregz dutifully turns his attention to the symbol emblazoned upon the various ornaments, but shakes his head.  "Ise not seen dat one before," he admits.  Though truth be told, most of the little goblin priest's exposure to such devices was while watching the forces of Light advance towards him, while he quaked in his boots.

Bulldust grins at Jurz.  "Maybe I'll be all ov dose people ... an a killer like Min, an a tree-hugger like you, an sneaky like Riza, an grow some wings like da birdie-girl.  I might even get scary like da cat."  Life is full of possibilities for the young.

The chest that was trapped was mostly empty, but Bulldust found two vials containing two different coloured liquids (one milky white and the other murky green).  "Are dese wot was magic Moffa?"  He removes the stoppers on each and has a sniff with his super smart nose.

The milky white liquid appears to be some sort of oil with virtually no aroma at all.

The murky green liquid smells awful and nearby makes Bully retch. Sometimes a highly developed sense of smell is not an advantage!

"Doesn't matter, really" Jurz shrugs and continues to poke about for a small item that can be added to his stampy stick.  If there isn't anything small and seemingly, disposable, he will start thinking about breaking a piece off of one of the large items.

In reply to Wyrm of Wyrd (msg # 327):

Oopses has collected a pile of legs , enough he could be mistaken for a woodcutter after a long days work and sorted the centipede meat into a deep pot, and the shroom flesh into several pots. Satisfied with his gathering he begins work on the pair of backpacks, dumping them out and trying to figure out how to fit his collection in them.

Night 12: The Sea of Dust

"I fink dere was some pattern on da padlocks."  Bulldust suggests to Jurz.  He fetches the one from the temple trinket chest and gives it to the red gobbo.

The bugbear has a rethink when he learns how many silver coins there are.  They're worth taking.  So once all the loot is out of the treasure room, he pulls the silver chest out the door, dropping the bars behind the chest as he goes, and drags the chest into the open space.  He thinks over what he's learned about sharing, and tries to remember how Oopses divided coins back in their temple hideout.  He starts by tearing off pieces of mildewed tapestry and placing them on the floor, one for each of the people: Oopses, Jurzie, Raven, Riza, Min, Dregzie, Moffa and Himself.  Its a lot of coins.  So he borrows a rusty helmet to use as a scoop and ladles out the coins into equal piles, finishing off by tying each bundle with a piece of tapestry cord.  "Can I borrow da pee tree later Jurzie an turn mine inta holy juice?"

OOC: thats 2500 sp each (worth 250 gp each, weighs 50 lb each).

He does not know how to divide up the gold and silver temple relics.

While Bulldust fusses about with his little piles of silver coins Moffdust sits nearby studying the two potion vials, while Riza turns her attention to extracting giant centipede poison from the dead centipedes and others sort through the rusty weapons and armour in the armoury or plan out the menu for their next meal. In one of the rooms someone finds a shelf full of glass and ceramic flasks, vials and jars that could be used for the green tree pee (holy water) that Bully wants to extract from Jurz's miniature tree.

She watched avidly as the coins get divvied out once she woke up that was. All those coins were intoxicating to her smokey sight. She had to force herself not to jump into the piles and start tossing them up in the air to catch with her beak to taste the wonderful metals. She restrained herself and did her best to act like a civilized rational being, even if it was nearly impossible to ignore the beautiful shiny coins.

"Rawk! We'z rich we iz! Lovely dem shinies will be wen dem cleaned! Jus need vingar en salt!"

She did find them a burden though when she picked up her share. Maybe if she distributed them around her body they wouldn't feel so heavy.

Sorry to disappoint you Raven, but all those thousands of silver coins are not shiny at all. They are hundreds of years old and all tarnished as black as Raven's feathers. They would polish up beautifully with a bit of work, though.

The milky white liquid is actually an oil, not a potion, so probably not for drinking.
