End of Night 12: Into the fort

Bully doesn't see any shields lying about. In fact, you didn't see any shields in the fort at all, which might be a bit unfortunate in the current circumstances.

Oopses shuts his jaw as the sudden transfixing fear at the sight of the arrow swarm shifts into terror as it impacts. Scurring over and grappling the nearest bugbear leg for transport and protection.

Arlein's ear flick at the sound of the arrows, but a quick eye movement shows them to be harmless. So sheyou shifts her full attention back to the dwarf snitch. She gets up and starts sauntering to the dwarf.

Jurz waits for the arrows to fall, and then ride Rog across to the platform, and stops under it  - waiting for Kurgan and his Orcs to deal with the Elf archers.  Once there he will cast bark skin on himself.

End of Night 12: Into the fort

Shieldless, Bulldust holds Oopses above his head continues out of the castle only marginally slowed by the attached brown goblin.  "C'mon Oopses, first we're gonna find Moffa fer some magic tricks, den we're gonna go up an kill da elfs.  Yup, jus us, no sharin!  Sept I fink maybe Jurzies gonna magic some ov em wiv some new trick, but all da rest is ours!  Min could kill em jus looking at em, but I fink e's goin after Sir Fancypants, so we'll have da elfs all ter ourselfs up dere.  I fink Jurzie drew ten elfs, but lets hope deres a lot more!  Did ya ever hear da story about dis orc called Nurzhan...?"

End of Night 12: Into the fort

As the arrows start raining down Bulldust is one of the first to react. He heads straight for the exit – the small gate in the northern wall. Oopses catches up quickly and wraps himself around Bully's leg for transport and protection. They find that someone has inconsiderately closed and barred the gate so Bully is barely able to open the gate and step outside before the next volley of arrows is due to arrive.

Minmorc laughs and casually strolls over toward the eastern wall, casually suggesting the rest of the orcs might also think about taking cover. Arlein casually strolls over toward the dwarf and ends up near Minmorc too.

Jurz and Rog wait out the volley of arrows then head south for cover under the platform near the middle tower.

Riza stays put near the wall of the northeast building, trusting to her skills at hiding to keep her safe for the time being.

The 6 orcs on guard up on the towers take cover behind the parapets.

The orcs in the courtyard split in all directions. Kurjan the Orc Cleric and Makkal the dwarf follow Minmorc's lead and 5 more orcs follow them to shelter beside the wall of the northeast building. One orc sergeant and 2 orcs head for the shelter of the northern wall. Another orc sergeant leads 4 more orcs under the shelter of the platform and heads for the door into the middle tower. Three orcs head south to the southeast tower but have to stop to get the door open. Another three orcs head for the western tower but the second and third of them stray too close to the white wolf chained at the well. The white wolf growls and lunges at the second orc (o13), biting the orc's shoulder and neck. The orc flops limply as the white wolf shakes the orc with its jaws. The third orc stops in his tracks and stares in horror.

Then the second volley of arrows falls from the night sky. Two more orcs fall to the arrows (o14 who now has 5 arrows sticking in him & o20 hit by 3 arrows) while another (o10) is grievously wounded. In total there are 4 orcs down, one too weak to fight and 6 others wounded to varying degrees.

"Shoulda listened to me's." Jurz mumbles as he looks across to the northern wall of the fort.  If he is going to use his new trick, he probably needs to be standing up on that wall, hiding behind as much cover as he can find.

"You'se guys not been feedin da doggy?" he asks the nearby Orcs, nodding towards the white wolf by the well.

Again Minmorc will call upon Nuffle, this time asking for the gods blessing. Hooking his axe onto his belt Minmorc will draw Nurzhans bow from his backpack. He'll tap Kurghans shoulder with his bow and say "so, has yer Wee god given yer any tricks ter mess up archers or we gonna have ter kill em der old fashioned way?"

End of Night 12: Into the fort

OOC: Orcs' and goblins' darkvision typically only has a range of 60 feet, whereas the elves' lowlight vision allows them to see clearly at night outdoors. The elves are at the top of a 100ft cliff about a hundred feet from the fort, so they have a pretty good line of sight to much of the interior of the fort. It is a cloudless night promising a bright, sunny day when the sun rises in less than an hour.

"Billit and Bollok," he replies curtly, pointing at the northwest and northeast buildings respectively. "Go ask dem about der wolf. Dey'll welcomes youz wid open arms!"

With that he turns and follows the orc sergeant through the door into the tower.

Squealing as he realises his vunerable position, Oopses uses a withdrawl action along the wall to get towards Minmorc.

End of Night 12: Into the fort

Minmorc readies the longbow he got from Nurzhan and moves to the southwest corner of the northeast building where he can see up to the cliff top.

Riza readies her bow and dashes over to peek out the northern gate so she can see the elves on the cliff as well.

Oopses abandons Bully and dashes back inside the fort.

Jurz rides Rog across the courtyard to the northern gate as well.

All of the unarmoured orcs finally make it into safe places inside the three towers or behind the northern wall or the northeast building with the Orc cleric.

The white wolf savagely bites the head off the unlucky Orc that it caught and begins to feast.

The elvish archers suddenly have no easy orcish targets to shoot at so they turn their attention to the White wolf. A volley of a dozen arrows rain down on the beast and six punch through the wolf's tough hide to leave it seriously wounded.

Meanwhile Bully has received a generous dose of magic from Moffa as well as smearing a vial full of oil on his goose hook (pole arm). Bully grows twice his normal size then flies 80ft up the side of the cliff. He is now 20 ft below the top of the cliff, 10ft west of the westernmost elf where a rocky outcrop just provides enough cover to conceal him from the sight of the elves, if they looked down.

Ooc: If anyone plans to target an elf on the top of the cliff, which one are you aiming for? (e1 to e12 on the group F game map . . . Sorry, I can't update the map at present.)
