As soon as she puts on the old shawl Riza's appearance instantly changes. She no longer looks like a small lizardfolk girl. Now she looks just like an ugly old halfling woman dressed in peasant garb!

"Dat's like de hat I wants.  'Cept its for  halflingses not gnomeses." Jurz exclaims when Riza turns into the ugly old halfling.

"Yeah, ewes can do dat... Bunni, make note."

In reply to Riza (msg # 475):

 "Oh, shiniez! So pretty! Thankz Moffy! Yu da bestestz!"

 She wraps the girdle around her waist several times and ties it, admiring the shiny metal.

As soon as Raven ties the golden girdle around her waist she starts to float up into the air. In just six seconds she has risen 20 feet above the ground and is still rising!

Jurz grins and points at Raven, "Hey, look.  De Birdie Girl is flying!"

 "Awk! Disz iz fun! awkawkawk!"

 she awkwardly tries to fly, but manages to gain a slight bit of headway, like swimming in the air. She flutters and flops around having all kinds of fun, using her feathered arms and her specially constructed half cape.

 "Wheeeeee! Hehehehe!"

Minmorc will fetch a keg of ale and a bottle of wine from the carriage along with a dozen copper goblets and will bid the girls to take drinks to any who seem thirsty, he'll then stand and appreciate the show. Once Ravens had her fun he'll ask "so, anyone wants anyfing else, or just Jurz fer der shoppin today?"

 "I needz sum potionsz and sum arrowz and stuff."

Raven continues to rise. By using the webbed and feathered 'wings' that span from under her arms to the sides of her body and the half cape she wears too, she is able to sort of glide upwards at a 45 degree angle as well. But none of her aerobatics have been in a downward direction at all. She is now 40 feet above the ground and rising at a rate of 20 feet each round (6 seconds) with no sign of slowing.

 "AWK!!! How I getz down?"

 She considers untying the girdle...she struggles with the knots.

The girdle is easy for Raven to untie and as soon as the knot is undone she starts to fall back toward the ground.

Jurz chuckles as he watches Raven struggle with the elevator belt, but is secretly relieved that he doesn't have to go up and try to bring her down.

Oopses stares at his gold, his old clan never handed out nearly this much, let alone to somone as accident prone as he was. Finnaly settling on a notion, "What if the Sticks drops us in deep waters next time, Can dis buyz me a magic boat Caddi?" holding the treasure sack up.  His thoughts were so deep he never even noticed shenanigans going on.

"Potions an arrows an stuff, check, Bunni, make a note. Candi, woz one o dose market guys tellin us about feathers wot turn into fings like trees an boats?"

Arlein intently studies the flapping Raven, licking her lips and absently pawing at the fluttering wings above her.

 She stops rising, and using her vestigial wings and her cloak, she glides down safely, running slightly as her feet hit the ground. She turns around and gives Moffdust another hug and hops around in excitement.

 "Iz der anythin youz wants Moffdust? I getz youz sumthin ifz yu doez!"

 "Minmorc, Herez wat I needz... Gloves of Dex, 2 flaming crossbow bolt, 1 frost crossbow bolt
1 shock crossbow bolt, 2 levitate potions and 4 cure light potions. And maybez sum yummy treat fer Moffdust. Lik chocolatz maybez."

The little goblin priest accepts his share of the treasure from Minmorc with a rather formal nod of thanks, but seems happy that his friends are relishing the thought of spending their not-ill-gotten gains.  However ...

"Wese cannot stay here for too long ... annuver lost piece of der Magic Stick has been callin' to me !"

Beneath his mane of hair, Dregz's eyes lose focus as he recounts the visions that have been pressing upon his mind this long night ...

"I wuz lookin' out over der dense vegetation," he begins in hushed tones, "it wuz like a jungle much thicker than der Oytwood."  Which in truth is the only forest he has seen before.

"And when I looked down, I found I wuz on der top of a stone pyramid wid der ruined temple on top. Der jungle all around wuz full of der strange noises but der ruined temple was deathly hushly. Der Magic Stick wuz pointin' down, down, down into der middle of der stone pyramid !"

"So dat is were wese must go !"

"I ain't bin ter der jungle, but places like dat always has good loot. Gonna go back ter town fer a bit, got any shoppin yer want done Dregz?"

"If we's goin into der bowels of  anovver old temply place den youse should get somefink to helps youse see in der dark."  Jurz  comments to Raven.  "Ovver wise youse is just goin to be groping around again.  Even Riza can sees OK when she lights her lantern up."

Minmorc will wait for everyone to place their orders, then once the group have decided what they want to purchase he will usher the ladies and any hangers on and will enter the coach.

Moffdust rubs her sore head and glares at Minmorc. She follows Bully's lead and gives her list privately to Candy (girls know).

She untangles herself from Raven's wings, spits out a mouthful of feathers and gasps "No Birdie Girls, dat golden girdles was from Lizzy Lizzie not from mees."

Riza is still very startled about the 'golden-girdle-of-going-up'. She shakes her head and sighs.

"It is lucky I didn't try that thing on. If I had gone up that high I would have no way to get back down safely. I think it must either be a cursed item or a trap. Birdy-girl Raven, I think you might be the only person who could use it safely. If you give me the money you were going to spend on two potions of levitation, you can have the magic girdle instead," she says to Raven.
