Without anything soft at hand Minmorc will provide something hard. Dropping his spear Minmorc will charge and attempt a flying tackle, he's willing to use his own body to cushion the elves fall.

End of Night 12: Into the fort

Oopses gasped, he was a expert on falling. Since the fights started he's been used a depthgauge in all sorts of situations, fallen out of trees, off buildings, over walls, on stairs, head over heels, even fell up once. That was a bad fall, normally this would delight the goblin but his kind boss wanted him alive.

End of Night 12: Into the fort

As the elf falls toward certain death and Minmorc dashes across to intercept him before impact, Oopses casts a spell. Sticky strands of webs suddenly appear stretching across the 40ft gap between the cliff and the northeast building of the fort, bringing both Minmorc and the elf to a halt, suspended in midair a few feet apart and 5 feet off the ground.

Sprinting forward, diving heroically through the air on an excellent trajectory to make the heroic, nay MIRACULOUS catch Minmorc hears Oopses cast a spell and finds himself caught in web. The elf completely forgotten Minmorc is utterly consumed by rage, so angry that he completely breaks the fourth wall.
"That was my moment, that was my bloody moment and you stole it wid a web spell, A WEB SPELL! The first twenty I, der great weapon wielding barbarian rolls on der bloody dice roller is a reflex save against der side kicks web spell?! I'll kill him, I'll kill him til there's nuttin left but a cans worth of Fancy Feast fer Arlein to remember im by, where is he, where is der little bastard, WHERE IS HE?!"
Struggling against the sticky webs Minmorc focuses all of his rage fuelled strength into the single goal of getting his gauntlets on the Goblin.

Dregz claps his hands delightedly at Oopses miraculous save.  Most surely his kinsman was divinely inspired by Bargrivyek to deliver a live Elf unto Minmorc ... though strangely the big Orc does not sound happy about it.

Muttering a prayer to his god, the little goblin priest trots back out of the gate to see what's up.

"Dats clever."  Bulldust is impressed at the lengths people seem to want to go to get their hands on a live elf.  He uses his goose hook again to fling the remaining three elves from the ledge towards the web.  "Two of dese is not quite dead yet Min.  You can start a collection."

Then he turns his attention to the stick in the cliff and flies down to pull it loose.  He calls out "Can't see da cavalry yet.  I'll try ta get da stick fer ya Dregzie."

"Dat's clever !" the hirsute little goblin shouts to Minmorc.  "Wese should use webs for Wilson ball - so wese don' have tah keep fetchin' der ball back !"  Dregz can see it already ... some sort of frame at each end of the arena to support the web ... and perhaps one of the more nimble players standing by to recover the ball from the web when it gets stuck.

The priest nods enthusiastically as Bully's word reaches his big ears, and faithfully he peers upwards to where the bugbear floats over the cliff face - if he can't see the Magic Stick, at least he can certainly make it Bulldust, nicely illuminated by Jurz's flaming elfs !

Bulldust ponders Dregz idea as he works on freeing the stick.  He's never really been interested in sports before, but flinging elves with a hooked stick from a cliff into a web is something he'd be happy to take up.  But what would you call it?  "Elfling?" he muses out loud.

End of Night 12: Into the fort

Minmorc is furious at Oopses for casting the web spell and spoiling his heroic, elf-catching leap. The big orc struggles mightily and finally manages to drag himself out of the web. By that time Oopses has fled in terror to hide somewhere in the fort.

Dregz is delighted by his kinsman's marvellous spellcraft and casts a spell of his own before trotting quickly back out to watch the fun. Raven and Moffdust are equally delighted by the web and join the others outside to watch. Jurz trots out on Rog and amuses himself by rolling his flaming sphere closer to the webs.

Bully decides to add more elves to the web. The first one (e12) is easy because it was close to the webbed area. Pity it was already dead, though. However, the other two elves (e4 and e5) were about 80 feet away from the webbed area and despite Bully's best efforts (both in terms of flinging them with his goose hook and finding the perfect name for his new sport) they both drop well short of the web. They do make a lovely thump when they hit the ground, though. Maybe the rules of the new sport will have to allow for long distance tosses to be done in stages?

Then Bully turns his attention to the section of the black rod that is stuck in the cliff wall 80 feet above the tunnel entrance. He sets his feet against the cliff wall and tugs at it with all his strength.

Back in the fort one of the orc guards on the towers announces the good news that all the elves are dead and down off the cliff. The dwarf is delighted by this news.

The orc cleric (Kurjan Sawtooth) is pleased by the news as well and starts issuing orders to his orcs. [Language unknown: "Resentthu ni, wh ant urnoad le. End of Night 12: Into the fort

Bulldust watches the last two living elves plummet towards the ground, wondering if the web will move to catch them.  He shrugs at the mess hey make when they hit, apparently moving the web is not in the rules ...

He tugs at the stick with all his strength but it does not budge.  He shrugs again then kicks off from the cliff and dives down to where the party are gathered outside the entrance to the fort.  He grins at the sight of Minmorc raging and tearing out of the webs, and wonders where Oopses ran off to.  He wears a cheesy grin as he floats down in front of Moffa and Raven and he lands between them and Dregz.  "Sorry Dregzie, da stick is stuck in da cliff rocks.  We'd need fousands of owls ta pull it out.  Or I can borrow a pick from da orcs ta dig it out.  Or tie a long rope on it den we can all pull it out, but have ta borrow a rope ..."  He has lots of ideas but not much gear.

End of Night 12: Into the fort

The bugbear's news is indeed disappointing, and the little priest puzzles over how to extract the Magic Stick from the rock face.  The thousand owls sound promising, though he suspects the sight would be met with 'owls of derisive laughter if it didn't work.

He briefly considers whether he might try to attach the existing bits to the new one and then use the stick's powers to teleport away ... but that would need everyone up there so nobody got left behind, which sounds dangerous to say the least.

"Bully's much stronger than you, birdy-gurl," he reminds Raven while applauding her enthusiasm.  "An' he's right - we're prolly gonna have ter dig it out."

Of more immediate concern, however are Kurzan Sawtooth's words.  "We're gonna have ter fight der humies first, though ..."

"OK Birdie Girl, let's go!"  Bulldust laughs with excitement, impressed by her sharp claws and enthusiasm for digging holes.  He tucks Raven under his giant armpit (apologies, its bee a while since wash-month) and lifts off.  Belatedly he stops mid air and asks "Anyone got some rope."

The priest is much more interested in Raven's plan once it's properly explained to him, and nods enthusiastically, though his support is tempered by the fact that he doesn't have any rope himself.  Fearing the plan is derailing before him, Dregz looks around hopefully in the expectation that either someone else will have rope or that Bargrivyek will provide.

At least nobody tried to explain the concept of wash-month to the little goblin !

With Oopses out of sight Minmorc will slowly calm and focus back on the present. Rummaging around in his haversack he will start to pull lengths of rope and grappling hooks out. He'll throw a 100 foot length and a hook to Bully and will call out "Oi Bully, yer still got sum manacles? We could use em as elfacles." He'll then head back through the gates of the fort and will stop ten feet away from Sawtooth. "So, Sawtooth, yer got time to come and ave a proper chat wid us? Nuttin seals a deal like sittin down an breakin bread, an an elf."
