Moffdust sits down on the ledge to watch the show, dangling her legs over the edge. She finds a piece of Nuffle-match-popcorn stuck in her hair and munches on that. She claps when Bully's arrow hits. "Lights dem up Jurzies!"

Just occasionally she'll glance around the chamber, keeping watch while the others shoot and search the door. She's ready to help if she needs to. Cat the Bat swings from a high stair up at the top of the room, he's keeping watch too.

Jurz grins and mibles a bit then waves his arms about.

"Awk! Good idea! I can do that too!" Raven exclaims when she sees Min and Bully shooting the hydra.

She sticks her rapier through her belt so it still shines and she loads her light crossbow and shoots at the hydra too.

While Dregz remains focussed on investigating the magic on the door , Minmorc pulls out a longbow and arrows but offers a few prayers to that Nuffle god of his before taking aim. Still, his words are enough to set Bully and Raven into action and they whip out their bow and crossbow and both shoot at the hydra without any delay, while Moffa sits on the ledge to watch the fun.

Bully's arrow hits the green neck and punches straight through. Although it has definitely injured that neck it is quite clear that an arrow is never going to be able to sever a neck completely.

Meanwhile Jurz waves his arms and mumbles unintelligibly. Then out of nowhere a sudden storm of hailstones the size of goblin eyeballs fills the southern half of the chamber, pelting down on the multi-coloured cryohydra. The cold may not affect it but the impact of all those hailstones certainly has an effect.

At first the green neck looks grievously wounded and the body moderately wounded, but even as the ice storm peters out the hydra's wounds are already beginning to heal. The bruises from the hailstones fade significantly enough for the colour change to be noticeable, the arrow hole in the green neck squeezes shut and Raven's crossbow bolt is slowly squeezed out from the body to drop on the floor below the hydra. Already the hydra's injuries look less serious than before – the green neck is now seriously wounded and the body lightly wounded.

Then the blue head breathes out a jet of freezing air toward Min, Jurz and Moffa but it dissipates just before reaching them.

OOC: (Round 4) The hydra has fast healing equivalent to about half the damage that was inflicted this round.

"Righto, and a one and a twoooo, huh, where'd dat one go... ah well. Birdie girl, dis shootin folks ter def is really relaxin."

"Dat's not nice" Jurz tells the Hydra, "Youse is supposed to dies..."  He continues as he waves his hands about again.  "If'n youse likes de cold, maysbe youse don't like de hot."

Suddenly he points and Flaming Sphere appears almost next to the Hydra and rolls across to  burn it

"An now wees gots a little camp fire, dis is jus loverly."

Bulldust shoots at the hydra again but misses (rolled 1).  Still its a fun game and he's happy to play again next round.  As a move action he pops out a potion of Enlarge Person from his haversack.  "Wonder wot arrows are like when yer big, eh?"

Moffdust sits on the ledge keeping watch and watching the fun. She has to agree with Min, this is a lovely way to pass a lazy... whatever time of day this is. "Pfft! If youse big den youse jus gonna miss wid a big arrows! Yeah, cooks it good Jurzie!"

Raven just squawks in delight and shoots the hydra again with her crossbow.

While Dregz still remains focussed on investigating the magic on the door , Minmorc, Bully and Raven continue shooting at the hydra with their bows and crossbow. Minmorc's first arrow hits and so does Raven's bolt.

Jurz curses at the ineffectiveness of his ice storm then summons forth a 6-foot ball of fire that bounces up onto the ledge and slams into the body of the hydra, leaving a dark and puckered burn mark on its flesh.

The hydra screeches in pain and the white head breathes out another jet of freezing air at Jurz, Minmorc and Moffa. Fortunately, they are still out of its reach. The first round of injuries to the hydra are now almost fully healed (including the one on its green neck) but the injuries inflicted this round mean it is now seriously wounded. It strains at the chain holding its leg but it is not able to break free.

OOC: (Round 5).

Jurz grins and keeps bouncing the flaming sphere up against the hydra, as the others shoot  it.

"I reckon dis bows broken, it goes dead on wid der first shot den way over somewhere wid der second. Stop being broken yer stupid bow!"

Bulldust drinks the potion of Enlarge Person and hops up on the ledge above the alcove so as not to crush Dregz.   He tests the pull of the oversized longbow.  "Reckon I can hit her wiv dis?"

Raven squawks again when Bully climbs up and away but she still takes another shot with her crossbow. She can hardly miss such a bit target but punching through its thick hide is a bit harder!

Raven, rolled 14 using 1d20+9.  Shoot hydra with crossbow.

Minmorc and Raven continue shooting at the hydra with their bow and crossbow. Minmorc's first arrow hits and but Raven's bolt hits a particularly tough bit of the hydra's hide and just bounces off.

Jurz rolls his flaming sphere at the hydra again but somehow the huge creature manages to hop over it and avoids being burnt this time.

Dregz seems to be finished his examination of the door so he pulls out his own little crossbow and loads it ready to join the missile barrage on the hydra.

Bully drinks a potion and grows to giant size then swings himself up to the ledge above the door where he will have more room to draw his now very long bow.

Bully barely makes it safely onto the ledge before jet of freezing air from the hydra's black head frosts the lip of the ledge behind him.

With only one arrow hitting it this time the hydra recovers slightly from its earlier wounds but it is still seriously wounded.

OOC: (Round 6).

"Bigger is better, but I reckons lucky is even betterer! I bets yer twenty gold dat my super lucky princess bow gets der killin shot! Dregz, Birdie Girl, Jurzie, yer all bringing der hurt, yer wanna bet dat yerl makes it go Aargh, gurgle an fall down? Moffa, you gonna put down twenny an kill it wid yer brain?"

"But maysbe hot is better still?" Jurz replies as he leaves his blall of flame bouncing up against the Hydra.  "I'sll bet ..." the bald goblin says as he pulls the wand of flame from his belt and flicks a glob of fire at the beast.

"Awk! Gotta be in it to win it. I'm in!" Raven squawks and shoots another crossbow bolt at the hydra.

"Yup, one fire ball an ee's outta here."

Moffdust laughs "I's goin ter wins dis wid a cantrips!" She summons caltrops that scatter under the hydra, but the dice roller is not impressed. She takes out 20gp to give to the winner.

"I'll give it a shot!" says Bulldust, taking the competition literally.
But being big is no advantage, in fact being big just makes it harder to hit things with arrows.  His gteat big arrow misses.  He fumbles sheepishly in a pouch for gold...

08:31, Today: Bulldust rolled 14 using 1d20+6.  Big arrow to hydra .

Dregz brushes the hair out of his eyes for a moment as he lines up his little crossbow at the hydra.

"As it iz written," he murmurs as he pulls the trigger.

Dregz, rolled 29 using 1d20+10.  Shoot hydra with crossbow.
Dregz, rolled 19 using 1d20+10.  Confirm critical?
Dregz, rolled 7 using 2d6.  Damage on hydra (critical hit).

As all of the team's archers finally join in the barrage on the hydra Minmorc decides this is a perfect opportunity for a wager. One by one everyone else accepts the idea and commits 20gp each to the pot.

Minmorc's first arrow hits and punches deep into the hydra's body but the huge reptile doesn’t fall.

While Jurz pulls out a wand to join in the fun his flaming sphere rolls back at the hydra again. This time it hits and scorches the hydra again but the huge reptile doesn't fall.

Raven's crossbow bolt hits too, but the huge reptile doesn't fall.

Moffa conjures caltrops under the hydra but it manages to avoid stepping on one.

Giant Bully shoots his giant bow but only manages to prove that size isn't everything. His giant arrow misses.

Dregz finally shoots his small crossbow, after brushing the hair out of his eyes to line up the perfect shot. His little crossbow bolt punches through a patch of the hydra's thick hide scorched by Jurz's flaming sphere and disappears into the hydra's chest. The hydra goes Aargh, gurgles and falls down, right on top of Moffa's caltrops!

Minmorc's second arrow hits and also punches deep into the hydra's body.

Then Jurz flicks a glob of fire at the hydra from his wand, which chars the ends of the arrows sticking out of the hydra's body as well as scorching its scaly hide.

The hydra's wounds show no signs of healing this time as it lies lifeless on the ledge.

OOC: (Round 7). Actions have been taken in the order posted but if it involved a move action and a standard action then everyone's first part of their action was processed first then everyone's second part of their action. I hope that makes sense. :o)
