Re: In the crypt

With the complex now finished with the search Ronalt shrugged, "I wonder where Rolf got to? He still carries the enchanted sword we loaned him."

"So Arek can you cause these passages to fall so we don't have to deal with the moathouse again?"

Re: In the crypt

"What d' yer ta' me fer? A damn engineer an' team o' miners?"
Why was it that just because Dwarves lived underground, they were all possessed with super powers when it came to stonework. Sure he could tell the difference between safe and unsafe passageways and the like, but even a human could do thatwith practise. Causing tunnels to collapse, even those made by inferior skills, was something that required far more time and effort than the entire village of Homlet could afford.

Re: In the crypt

Iviana looks thoughtful.  "If a path were cleared, the stones here would make a fine quarry for those building the keep in town," she muses aloud.  "Dismantling the entire ruin would certainly keep anything else from moving in.  But, while I hate to point it out, there still is the tunnel breaking in through the mausoleum, that was not fully explored.  Or dealt with."

Re: In the crypt

As they made their way out Tindoome glanced about looking at the walls and when Ronalt asked Arek if he could collapse them she was the next to shake her head "I don’t think I can either; I don’t have any art that is substantial enough " Thinking a moment

"I might b able to find a scroll with a spell that could do it, perhaps the castle mage has such a one. Or I could contact my teacher... "

"Let us return to the township. Best we find out if we are needed here any longer."

While the others prepared to leave, Gwythe opened the door off the laboratory and looked inside.

[Private to Gwythe: The room is as you suspected, the mage's chamber.  A comfortable bed, a writing desk and a set of bookshelves are the obvious contents. Once again this room looks like it has been searched.]

Gwythe looks carefully around the room and then steps further in to search it more thoroughly.

[Private to DM: I'll pull the desk out and rip the bed apart and so forth. Give it a good going over.]

Re: In the crypt

Arek stood still, waiting to see what Gwythe found as he fereted through the laboratory. At first glance it appeared to have already been searched, and undoubtably the prize items had already been taken. As seen previously however, the prior inhabitants had left in a hurry and left a few goodies behind...

Kalador's curiousity was aroused once again and he entered the lab as well. He wanted to protect Gwythe if need be and who knew, maybe he'd find something interesting for himself.

Gwythe disappeared into the small room off the laboratory and sounds of things being moved around could be overheard. Kalador stepped up to the door and looked in.

[Private to Kalador: you see a bedroom that has been ransacked and is being ransacked some more.]

[Private to Gwythe: At the back of one of the drawer in the desk, you come across a parchment scroll.]

Re: In the crypt

[Private to Kalador: Gwythe pulls a parchment scroll out the back of one of the drawers, and after glancing at it for a second, looks over at the door and grins at Kalador, tucking it into his jerkin.]
Gwythe finishes dismantling the room and then appears back in the doorway. "Mage's bedroom. Someone has already been through it. I think our missing companion might have got the pick of the treasure from this place, we should put our thoughts to finding him and claiming out share." he says to the dwarf.

Tindoome takes the parchment rubbing it between her fingers to see the material and quality of it then turns it around carefully looking at the back and the edges both to see how it has bin handled if its old or tirn out from some place. And to examine the material or if there is anything ells on it. Turning it to the nearest available light source she pears trough it to see if there is any hidden detail to it after that she gives a glance at the symbols

Re: In the crypt

The party prepared to leave the moathouse for the last time.  Making their way up to the upper works of the ruin they came across the various scenes of battles past.  Walking out through the gateway past the ruined guard tower, Kalador briefly recalled the siege there and the halfling buried under the rubble.

In the open again, the wind in their faces they made their way towards Hommlet.  Judging by the sun, Ronalt thought the time was an hour shy of midday.  The retraced their route along the old cart path seeing no signs of threat real or imagined.

Tired though they were they could finally face the villagers knowing that the threat from the moathouse had been neutralised.

....for now....
