Rolf's exploration

Moving far enough ahead of the main group Rolf reaches the junction and turns west towards the other parts of the moathouse dungeon.

OOC: If put you in a separate thread and will cross post between until you get together again, or not. The last indication Rolf got of the main groups intentions was was before their rest:

Tindoome Uurraumo:
"Perhaps we should examine these rooms (28), before we move on to this place (30,31) " She suggests although she more asks the dwarf and the ranger

Re: Rolf's exploration

Rolf has a simple rule, take only right turns when you explore unknown area's. With that rule he scouts ahead, examining the moathouse interior as he moves silently and keeps in darkness.

Re: Rolf's exploration

Rolf continues into the dungeon and reaches a T-junction. Looking back, he can see the light from the party's torches showing that they reached the main corridor a short while behind him..

Turning right he proceeds for about thirty feet until he reaches a door.  It is closed and looks like it will open away from him.

Re: Rolf's exploration

Rolf checks the door for traps, then opens it slowly to peer through (assuming there is no keyhole or such handy to peer through first)

Re: Rolf's exploration

Rolf finds no obvious traps and will need to open the door to see beyond.  Behind him he is aware that the main party have reached the junction, the light from their torch just failing to reach him. Rolf is pretty sure the door will make some noise when opened.

Re: Rolf's exploration

As slowly and quietly as possible, Rolf opens the door.

Re: Rolf's exploration

Rolf cautiously opens the door trying to make as little sound as possible. The room beyond is large, about 20ft x 40ft with the door in the south east corner. Corridors lead off from the middle of the North and west walls and there are two other doors in the south wall.

What is most noticeable though is the smell. Some sort of humanoids have been making this their base of operations and have been pretty sloppy in the hygiene stakes. The remnants of a camp fire, long died out, as in the north west corner and various cooking items litter the floor around it.

There is no sign of life.
