Re: Bright day in hommlet

Gwythe looks down at his hand in some confusion and then back up at Iviana. "Tomorrow...?" he asks quietly.

He glances around the room and then leans in closer to talk to her again.

[Private to Iviana: "It was given to me by the serving girl at the inn last night. Which makes it this afternoon I guess."]

Ronalt signaled to Jaroo who comes over to join him. "What is it Ronalt?" he asked.

Re: Bright day in hommlet

Ronalt whispers some quiet words with Jaroo and he passes him a letter to read.
[Private to GM: "I need a message sent to one I care about."
Removing a letter from his belt pouch he handed it to Jaroo.
"Read it and you will understand. For me to continue upon this path I make a sacrifice which will come at a cost unless others tell the tale which has happened."
"A letter to both Muriel Longleaf based on the outskirt of Celene and her father from you and those you trust upon the town council would be sufficient to keep my love from disappearing from my grasp."

OCC: Muriel's letter

Ronalt my love,
As I have not heard anything from you I expect my previous letters have gone
astray. I hope this letter will reach you, I'm sure the bearer will do what
she can to ensure that.
It continues with all the usual pleasentaries, wishing she could be with you
etc before moving on to the meat..
Father continues to try and undermine your place in my heart.  Things are
getting difficult here as his pressure mounts.  Only last week he told me that
he intends to arrange an engagement with Count Debonier!  Needless to say, the
argument that ensued was enough to cause further rift between us.  Inevitably
mother got the blame and I had to separate them before things got out of hand.
Why, if he feels this way did he get involved with a human in the first place?
I know the answer, her loyalty and bravery in times of crisis place an emotional
debt on him that time has eroded.
The more he goes on the more human and less elven I feel.  I fear that if things
do not move fast there will be a parting of the ways and again mother will
suffer. I could not bear that and so stay and try and work things out.
Anything you can do to prove your worth in his eyes will help, I'm sure.
Bravery and loyalty are the two things he recognises that transcend race.  It
is only through those that we will win through...
I know I am placing an terrible burden on you but am confident we can prevail.
Know you are in my heart always.

Iviana nods.  [Private to Gwythe: She hands the note back, with a small shrug.  "We will still be here overnight, so it's really up to you.  If you'd like someone to come with you, I'm free."  She leaves unstated the follow-up that if he wants to go alone, she apparently trusts to let him do that.]

Gwythe puts something into his pocket, thinking about something for a second. [Private to Iviana: "K. Thanks. Need someone who will watch my back?"]

He looks around at Arek, and then the others to see if they are ready to leave.

Re: Bright day in hommlet

Everyone seemed set to leave the meeting, Jaroo had a brief discussion with Ronalt, nodding his head at the closure.

[Private to Ronalt de Gault: Jarro answered "We'll see what we can do Ronalt, but we have no sway over the elves of Celine. Hopefully it will be enough."]

[Private to Gwythe; Iviana:Kinda busy, I'll add a new thread for you tomorrow.]

Ronalt quietly replied to Jaroo.
[Private to GM: "All I really need is a letter from some third party source telling what has happened so Muriel and her father can see my worth."]

Jaroo nods his head and says "Of course Ronalt." As they are about to leave, Rael hands each person and pouch that jingles satisfyingly.

OOC: you each are given 500 gps, though what you can spend it on in Hommlet is anyone's guess.

Shaken awake (again) Arek grumbled as he received the bag stuffed with gold coins.
"An' jus' wha' d' yer think I'm ta do wi' this lot, eh?"
It'd probably buy him a decent fishing rod but would it buy him the peace to use it?
"Bah, I'm of ta see Felicia. Me'be she's g' something up a' tha' church she's took o'er worth ge'in. Yer comin?"
[Private to GM: Holy water should chew up a few coins to start with.]
"Waz tha' blacksmith's name? Spose I cud spea' ta 'im and borrow 'is forge for a bit...."

Kalador took the pouch and nodded his thanks. He placed it in his belt pouch and headed to get a drink. After that, he was unsure what to do next. He wondered what their next adventure would be like.

Iviana and Gwythe headed off on their own to the store and entered. Meanwhile, Kalador decided to return to the inn and while away the time.

Arek visited his old acquaintance Felicia at the church of St.Cuthbert.

OOC a couple of loose ends to clear-up and we will be ready for the next phase.

Arek stomped into the common room and thumped a sack upon a table.
"Drink, lad!" he yelled irritably at Ostler.
"Somtin ta wash ta damn tas' o' grapejuice frum me throat."
Although he enjoyed Felicia's company (if not grumbling about her presence could be termed "enjoy"), the wine she provided (and he was too polite to refuse) was little better than water and far too sweet for his refined palate.
"Somtin' strong!" he roared as Ostler scurried away.

"Leas' I g' sum supplies."
A selection of vials, candles, sticks of incense, flasks, a couple of mirrors and numerous other miscellaneous items tumbled out across the table as he unended the sack.

Ostler continued to keep the ale, wine and food flowing.  It seemed nothing was too good for the heroes of the moathouse.  The evening wore on an eventually some turned in for the night.  There was a brief commotion when Tindo returned with a large cat at her side.  Its white coat masking the normal camouflage pattern a jaguar would sport. Eventually Ostler persuaded her to keep the beast outside and away from the horses.

Gwythe and Iviana arrive shortly after leaving the others at the meeting. Gwythe is quiet and sullen, until after a couple of drinks, at which he brightens up somewhat.

After a time, he takes the seat next to Arek. "When are we leaving Dwarf? It seems that not everyone is here." he looks around the table.

Having had his fill of drinking alone, Kalador approached the table and sat down. He said, "Aye Arek, when and where do we go to next." He motioned for another ale from the barkeep.

Iviana pauses at the door, and then waves Gwythe in while she turns aside and approaches Tindoome and her new friend.  "Oh, my," she says, with a grin.  Memento peeps out from Iviana's sleeve, nose twitching.  The two stop a short distance away, waiting for an invitation to come closer, or an indication to leave.

Ronalt had been practicing his sword work for an hour and he had decided his drills were enough for this day.
Washing briefly at the well before heading to the inn for some refreshment.
Ordering a tankard of cider he joined the table where Arek sat.
"So no news is good news."

"Her," Iviana corrects absently, coming closer and crouching down.  "Mist..."  She looks at the white cat, and nods, smiling.  "It seems quite appropriate.  Not that what I think really matters, of course."

She holds her arm out for Mist to smell.  As she does, Memento wriggles the rest of the way out of the sleeve.  She twines briefly around the arm as she turns around, sniffing back interestedly, her black fur contrasting sharply to Mist's white.

"I called her Memento Vivere - my Reminder to Live - when I first saw her.  And she is.  I've always been curious about things... almost any things, really.  But I have a tendency to draw it in a little."  She laughs.  "Which I think got worse living in Celene.  She's a constant reminder to me to keep wondering...keep exploring."  She shrugs.

Asked how much they talk, she tips her head a little, looking at Memento, who turns to look back, nose quivering.  "I expect that's one of those things that's different for every pairing," she decides.  "We don't really `talk'.  Not like this.  But she's a very...instinctual creature.  We just seem to know."  She grins.  "Which is funny.  I consider myself very thoughtful, but I guess underneath it all, I'm pretty instinctive, too."

Tindoome keeps petting Mist as she speaks "Perhaps I could consider her my grace, or the courage I lack " She smiles shyishly "Although I am afraid intuition is not one of my strong points, understanding trough research, observation that’s easy but trying to guess what somebody feels and wants " She shrugs again seemingly putting the matter away for now as she gives Memento a little scratch under the neck. Mist seams accepting of the attention even wanting it as she stretches and produces a gentle purr

"Migh' as well be in tha morn unless yers 'ave t'ings ta do."
He poked with his knife (a piece of meat still impaled upon the point) at the spilled contents of the bag on the table.
"Help yerselves ta some o' tha' too. More there tha' I need."

The night ran it course with some drinking more than others some suffering from what they drank regardless.  Retiring early the prepared for the day ahead, the trip to Nulb may itself prove interesting....  the arrival would almost certainly.
