Going shopping

Leaving the meeting Gwythe and Iviana made their way to the store easily identified by the shield that is suspended from a post outside. The imposing building has a stable off the back of it, the general layout showing the store proprietor must be a comparatively wealthy man for Hommlet.

Re: Going shopping

Gwythe, upon receiving the pouch of gold, stuffs it inside his jerkin and looks around suspiciously. He watches as Iviana receives her pouch and then tugs on her arm so they can leave.

He is lost in thought as they wander through the village towards the store, occasionally glancing up at the locals as they walk closely by. He stops at the store, looking up at the sign for a second. "Well..." he says with a sigh, pushing the door open and stepping inside.

Re: Going shopping

Iviana nods to Gwythe, and leaves with him.  She asks to go past St. Cuthbert's on the way - even if it isn't - where she stops inside briefly and leaves a small donation. [Private to GM: 25 gold, so I added 475 to her character sheet]  She's a bit apologetic about the whole thing, knowing that the church isn't high on Gwythe's list of favorite places right now, and certainly doesn't expect him to come in with her.

She follows him into the store, and tries to not immediately look around to see who might be waiting for him.  In this, she fails, unable to hide her curiosity.

Re: Going shopping

As Gwythe entered he saw the store was well stocked. Two men in quiet discussion at the back looked up at him. The one he had seen in the Inn said, "Well lookee he..." He stopped abruptly as Iviana followed Gwythe in.

Recovering his poise he added "Nice girl friend Gwythe! I'm surprised you can keep a lady like that in the manner she is accustomed." The last with what could only be described as a leer at the half-elf. "Or perhaps she keeps you eh! Maybes we could come to some arrangement... miss? Since Elsa ran off with that merchant we've been needing a replacement, good rates too for lying about on your back!" He snorts at the joke, or maybe it isn't.

Re: Going shopping

"I'm afraid I'm not sure that's really my calling," Iviana replies, apparently unoffended, "But if you'd like to be kept, I'm sure we can find a woman somewhere in town with a use for you."  She looks at him thoughtfully, and says apologetically, "It may not be all lying on your back, though."

She grins at him, giving him an easy opening to let both of their comments slide as jokes...

Re: Going shopping

Gwythe opens his mouth to speak, but shuts it again when Iviana does.

After she finishes he drops his hands to his hips and faces Rannos. "What do you want? I don't need anything from your store."

"Ah but Gwythe its not what you want that matters. Take our lady friend for a tour of the store Gremag, if you would be so kind. Perhaps we have some nice lingerie for her eh?" said Rannos.

Re: Going shopping

"Of course! Be delighted to." said the store owner. despite his ownership it seemed clear that Rannos was running the show.

"My dear, this way." said Gremag as he held his arm out to Iviana. The smile on his face looked genuine, but then again he was a shop keeper.

Re: Going shopping

Gwythe reaches out a hand and and grasps Iviana's forearm, stopping her from leaving, glaring at the two men. "I don't think we have any business to do today gentlemen."

"Hee, hee... little Gwythe's found himself a back-bone!" said Gremag. "The offer's still open dear, once around the shop while Rannos talks with Gwythe the Mighty... what do you say?"

Iviana tips her head a little, and then smiles a little at Gremag.  "It's a kind offer," she agrees.  "But, you know..."  She lifts the arm Gwythe is holding a little, and shrugs.  "Kept woman, and all that.  I'm sure I'd just get lost in this great big shop of yours."

Gwythe spits on the floor of the shop. "Come on." he tugs on Iviana's arm, pulling her towards the door. "The stench in here is terrible."

Iviana follows Gwythe's lead, but lets him, indeed, lead, as she keeps her eyes on Gremag and Rannos.

Re: Going shopping

Outside the store, they paused briefly.  There was no sign that the owner or his friend had any further interest.

OOC: thought I should give you an opportunity to close this out between you if you want.  I'll make a general post on the main thread, your welcome to post in both.

Re: Going shopping

Gwythe looks over his shoulder but doesn't say any more as they walk out. Once outside he spits on the ground and curses under his breath, glancing at Iviana. "C'mon, lets get away from here."

Re: Going shopping

Gwythe stops and looks at Iviana, and then when she looks back at him, shrugs and keeps on walking.

"I don't know either of those guys, but I think they know me from my past life." He runs his hand through his hair. "Certainly not the sort you want to be alone with."

After a few seconds of thought he smiles. "Guess I'll have to do my shopping elsewhere huh?"
