Re: Off to Nulb

Eventually the party sort themselves out and are ready to depart.  The ragtag group seems more a bunch of adventures drawn by a common cause than a tight nit team.  The journey to Nulb would take most of the day and the morning was already well on.  The little they new of the village was that it was a place of low repute. Inhabited by pirates, brigands and followers of the demonic temple, it offered scant resources for those who opposed the chaos about to be unleashed.

The weather was damp but not raining as they made their way.  With both Ronalt and Yesil taking the lead there was no chance of being surprised. They passed close to the moathouse with no signs of life from it, but then again it rarely had. Eventually they reach the edge of the woods that form the outer fringes of the Gnarly forest and saw the cursed village ahead.

Your typical Nulbians

OOC: If you want to talk en route and plan you arrival, please do so then we'll  move into the village.

Re: Off to Nulb

Gwythe is sullen and downcast on the journey to Nulb, looking occasionally at Arek and Iviana, but avoiding the eyes of the rest of the group, and the conversation of all.

When they stop for food he eats quietly, stuffing a little remainder in his pocket for later, as he has tended to do since joining the party.

(OOC: For the purposes of good roleplaying (er, I hope good anyway), I need the journey to Nulb to continue for another post or two, rather than arriving now. If we could have 'still on the road' posts from the other characters I'd appreciate it)

Re: Off to Nulb

Iviana rather easily finds her pace with Cedric.  She walks with an easy quiet, but as the village draws closer and the mood of the environment seems to dampen, she glances towards him and asks, "If you don't mind my asking...what is it that draws you to Rao?"

Diviac tries to strike up a conversation with Yesil on the road. "So, I have heard barbarians don't know how to read, is that true?"

With a sigh Diviac replies "I understand, I'd be upset also if I couldn't read. It's not your fault you know, you were just born into unfortunate circumstances. I could teach you you know, you seem, well, bright enough to get the basics at least."

Furious her kick had failed to push Diviac into the dirt (the man having nimbly avoided the bulk of her impact), Yesil pulled a javelin from the shealth attached to her saddle and prepared to impale the abominable sorcerer.
"Your death can't come soon enough!" she sneered.

"Poor thing, such misplaced anger is usually a symptom of abuse as a child, common enough among the savages. There is help for you, often times simply talking it out can result in substantial improvements to ones mental health. Tell me, did you maybe have a puppy that you loved, but then you ended up eating it?"

Glancing to Diviac, while standing near Yesil, "Perhaps you might wish to wander back in the line for a while. Your chatter is causing disharmony and we have no desire to break out the first aid bandages quite yet."

The clink of his mail marking his steed's cantor, the paladin looks over to Iviana and smiles to her as she questions the source of his devotion, "My family have long been devout followers of Rao, for he teaches us the wisdom of reason.  It is honorable to die in defence of what is good but even more worthy to convert others to the light of reason.  Thus we prove our superiority over the lessor creatures.  We fight when it is called for but the road of wantom violance leads only to chaos."

Kalador chuckled at what Diviac was saying. He thought Yesil would probably kill him before they ran into anyone else. In the meantime, Kalador just kept a good look out for anything or anyone out of he ordinary.

Re: Off to Nulb

Tindoome stayed back, walking near Arek he and Iviana were the ones she was most comfortable with, and with Iviana engaging the Knight in conversation Tindo faded back to a silent walk next to the usually similarly silent Dwarf

She looked up as the conversation turned violent with Diviac a man who she liked not the look of and Yesil the one in the group Tindoome knew the least off and usually kept clear of the woman but suspected they had enough mutual respect that she would not do something foolish, however Diviac seamed to be pushing his luck

Looking back towards the others in his train, the paladin frowns and in a voice he generally reserves for the field of battle, the paladin admonishes, "I would advise all here to put aside their prejudices whilst we travel together.  Very soon you may need to rely on the one beside you."  His eyes bore into them all, particularly Yesil and Diviac.

In reply to Arek Blackiron (msg #49):

"This warlock," Yesil spat out, not taking her eyes from the perversion she so desperately wanted to impale.
"Thinks it deserves to speak to me!"

Quick as an eyelid blinking, she shifted her grip on the javelin and swung it around in an attempt to collect Diviac's head. Unfortunately her aim was off and the mage easily ducked her swing.

"You're not worth bothering with!" she snarled venomously before spurring her horse onward to resume scouting ahead.

Cedric frown at Yesil as she spurs her steed up closer to where he rides at the front.  Looking to the woman, he says to her, "Your dislike of the mage is known by all but I will ask that you curb your hatred for the duration of our journey."

Iviana nods to Arek and is ready to drop back from her near-combat-ready alertness, when Cedric decides to address Yesil too.  She glances to him, and then to the barbarian woman, and relaxes only a little, watching to see how this turn of events goes.

Gwythe stumbles forward a little as he is pushed by the dwarf, looking back at him and opening his mouth to say something, but then snapping it shut again.

He shrugs and continues to walk forward, keeping an eye on the rest of the group.

Nevermind my pause request, it got overshadowed by everyone yelling at each other there. We can move on to the town).

Re: Off to Nulb

The party finally arrived at Nulb their bickering on hold, at least for now. The ground had grown progressively more swampy as the approached until it opened out on to the fetid river known as Imeryds Run.

A single bridge spanned the river with the village of Nulb beyond.  As the approached they could see a few villagers and a militia moving about but no cause for alarm. The bridge itself was deserted except for one decrepit beggar. As they approached he held out his hand and said "Alms for a cured leper?"

Re: Off to Nulb

Tindoome almost reflexively did two things that were some what contradictory to one an ather, she kept to the far side of the man laying a hand on the small leather bound book in the one strapped bag on her side and took hold of a copper, one of a few she usually had in one of the deep pockets of the robe and tossed it into the wooden bowl the man had

With that she put the dwarf between her self and the man and didn’t once make eye contact wit the fellow remaining quiet and looking down, she had bin quiet for most of the trip.

As he nears the beggar, Cedric reigns in his steed and looks down at the man as he addresses him in friendly fashion.  "It is a miracle that you are cured of such a terrible disease.  Pray tell sir, how did this miracle come about?"
