Kalador looked and nodded at the items the troll showed. He said, "Brother Yew, he wants to know what we have to trade. He also says that it should be better than the things he just showed us. What should I tell him?"

Yew thought for a moment before responding.

"Do you remember that pair of rose gold candelabras we found downstairs in the scarlet room? (OOC: msg #862 and #894 in 'Through the portal' thread) Each designed to hold 13 candles and about this big." Yew indicated the size by holding his hands a couple of feet apart. "They were too bulky for us to want to carry all through this place but they would make very impressive trophy racks for our troll-king here. They must be worth thousands of gold coins too, which should please him. We would need to go back downstairs to fetch them, so if he can show us another way out that bypasses the Fire Temple he would be able to have both instead of maybe having to share them with Alrrem."

Kalador replied, "Yes I remember them. Let's see if these items are good enough for him." Looking back at the troll, he said, "[Language unknown: M ic hatstrshe anosdi ne art nt inwe venerasonverica. "Hmmm," Oohlgrist mused before pointing at Yew.

OOC: Note that each one weighs about 60 lbs each and will take more than one person to carry unless you want to risk damage...

Kalador rolled his eyes at the singing and dance part. He replied, "Brother Yew, he wants you to go get the candelabras, while Gwythe and I dance and sing...to make him happy." Kalador wanted to make himself happy by running the troll through.

"They are too heavy for me to carry. Try to persuade him to let you both go with me, or at least one of you."

OOC: If Oohlgrist can't be persuaded then Yew will go and do as asked.

Kalador nodded and turned to Brother Yew. He said, "He said no due to our friends being out there. I imagine he's worried we might just attack him or something."

NPC'd
"Ok, so what do you two think we should do?"

Kalador replied, "I'd say we run him through and move on. I darn well don't want to dance for him and I don't think Gwythe does either." He smiled at Brother Yew to let him know he was kidding about running the troll through. While pleasant to think about, it wasn't a viable option.

Gwythe grunts in frustration. "Tell him he Yew will take him to where the treasure is. That brute of a creature can clearly carry more than the three of us put together. We can wait here, or go with him, and he can even bring his friend if he wants."

Kalador nodded and said, "That isn't a bad idea. What do you think Brother Yew? Should I tell him to go get the things himself and we'll wait here or go with him?"

Yew Shrugged.
"Can't hurt to suggest it I suppose..."

Oohlgrist convulsed, a deep, grating noise escaped from his mouth (somewhat like boulders tumbling down a steep cliff, smashing and tearing everything in it's path) as putrid spittle flew across the room.

Kalador wiped some of the spittle off of him. He looked at Yew and said, "He thinks I'm joking and wants to keep me cause I tell good jokes. Any suggestions Brother?"

"I think we do whatever you and Gwythe think is wisest."
[Private to Gwythe; Kalador: Remember Yew is AFK at the moment, so it's up to you two to come up with a solution.]

Kalador looked at Gwythe and said, "Well, what do you think? I'm open to suggestions."

"ENOUGH TALK!" Oohlgrist boomed in the common tongue, revealing he had understood each and every word spoken in the room (including the "jokes" about killing him).
"You go now!" he ordered, forcefully pointing at Brother Yew and then the doorway.
"You two stay!"

Kalador looked at the troll and gave a slight smirk. He said, "Well now, you do understand us after all. What would you do if just Gwythe there stayed and I went to help the Brother?'

Oohlgrist growled angrily, his patience clearly very close to exhausted.

Kalador looked at Brother Yew and said, "Brother Yew, it looks as though you'd better leave now. Maybe one of our friends can help you." Looking at the troll, he smiled and said, "So, did you hear the one about the orc who walked into a bar with a bird on his shoulder."

Gwythe takes a couple of steps back as the troll yells at them, his hand straying to his weapon again, glancing at the exit.

"I told you this was a bad idea" he mutters to no one in particular.

Brother Yew nodded respectfully toward his two companions.

"I will return as swiftly as possible," he replied.

Then he left to fetch the candelabras.
