Re: OOC MK V

Looks like we should settle in here for a rest. We'll need to go check out the other door though and what's next door.

I'm not clear from what was posted - did one leave through that door, or were they going to and then they surrendered?

Both. The dart thrower did a runner and the crossbowman was just about to but left his dash too late.

Gwythe:
He'll look for uninjured fighters to help him with whatever they find on the other side of the door.

The obvious candidates are Sven and Rolf (although he hasn't been too keen on front lining it so far).
Iviana, Yew would probably do well also.
Calebon and maybe Sir Juffer would be ok, once they've been armoured up and picked up decent weapons. Thromel could go (he's still on about 75%), but as the only functional healer left, and, well, he's a Prince....

In reply to Brother Yew (msg # 328):

"You know they can hear you themselves right?"

No, actually, I didn't. Should I have spoken in a smaller font? ;o)

Yew didn't hang around in that room throughout the interrogation as he felt his place was back with Bob and Bill keeping guard.

I'll try and update in the next day or so - just been thumped with some rather earth shattering new regarding my job - company merger. Could be good, could be bad, just need time to process and see what happens.

Re: OOC MK V

Ronalt de Gault:
OOC: Is the dead one the dart wielder or someone else?

The answer to that is already underlined.
Ronalt de Gault:
OOC: the peep hole is directed to which room?

It's in the door that took you several rounds to push through.
Ronalt de Gault:
"Healers get on the beds and rest. We need you hale and healthy."

Note there's two rough cots in that first room (where most of the fighting took place), two beds in the room with the food, and one bed in each of the 10x10 rooms.

I suppose I should upload the updated map too.... :/

In reply to Ronalt de Gault (msg # 64):

Only what's shown on the map and in the IC description.
No trails of blood, although there is a very substantial pool of it from the dead mans throat.

Ronalt de Gault:
"Anyone who can check for magic auras should now while all the gear is in one spot."

Yes, I wonder if there are any spell casters with that ability, or anyone for that matter with an item which might help......

Re: OOC MK V

@Sharing magic user books
Don't you need to cast read magic on each spell in a spell book, before you can use that spell book? Only your own spell books or thinks you have previously cast read magic on are magically legible to you I thought.

Of course that begs the question 'how do you memorise read magic', and I can't remember the answer, although I remember it was awkward when escaping from the Slavers.

My AD&D-fu is weak from lack of exercise, but I remember being hassled about it being hard to share books in the past, and it taking weeks to plough my way through enemy wizard books that we had captured.

Re: OOC MK V

Players Handbook:
Read magic is required for one magic-user to read another magic-user’s spell book, and a magic-user can learn a spell by reading it from another’s book. This learning process requires 2-8 hours of study per level of the spell, after which time the spell is learned and thereby immediately usable by the magic-user who did the studying.

However, in this case (and because it would be rather unfair to a couple of the characters) if a spell is already known (as already shown on the characters sheet) they can use anothers book, provided they can work with the owner of the book (who explains certain things as they go along).
This I'll allow as a once off though, just to get some spell casting abilities happening.

Re: OOC MK V

Looks like a character doesn't currently know any available spells of a particular level. Oh well, they'll just have to try learning something that is as per the rule above. :)

Note there are also several chests at the end of beds to be searched, a wardrobe, another wardrobe and chest. A small rug is on the floor near the bed. A cup, ewer, and box are on the stand. In the southwest corner is a black candelabrum with four unlit candles. Anybody searching them or checking for valuables?
