"Probably." As Titus goes on about what might happen Enrei draws one of his knives and with a wince draws it across his palm.  He holds his hand over the cup and clenches to drip blood into it as he looks at Titus.  "Is lady, not creature," he counters Titus's final point having missed most of the rest of his speech.

"That's... ok, this is happening. Hold it steady, let me talk to her and see what she wants and how we can help her, Enrei."

Brennan swoops over to the cup and whispers carefully into it.

Enrei leans uncomfortably close as Brennan whispers, in an attempt to hear what the cup says.

He tries to act nonchalant but does a poor job of it.

The dribble of Chal'i blood fills the bottom of the chalice, then seems to soak into the material almost instantly.  Instead of ruddy brown, it is now dull red and the material has gone from hard to rubbery.

Brennan whispers into it and holds it beside his ear.

"Enrei," Brennan says carefully. "How did you feel after drinking out of this? Did you feel particularly strong, refreshed, or good?"

He glances at the rubbery cup carefully, then at Titus.

"She has a name and claims to have come from the Dream of Heaven. Once sated, the cup can be drank from for invigoration, healing, and visions of the future or the past."

Brennan looks squarely at Enrei.

"What exactly did you see in your dreams last night?"

Enrei looks thoughtful at Brennan's inquiry , "I hurt less," he finally decides.  "In my dream I hear lady.  I go through to big tent and see lady in cage, she screams, and those men pull off her arms and she turns into very very fancy cup.  Not like this," he waves at the chalice in question, "Is gold cup.  This is all I see," Enrei retells his dream to Brennan.

"That depends," Brennan shrugs. "Do you think the cup is a lady who had her arms ripped off in the past? Because that's what Enrei saw, and I doubt it's the future."

He looks at the cup thoughtfully and whispers to it.

Brennan rummages through his pack and withdraws a page from the madman's journal -- one covered in strange  runes. He shows it to the cup, as best as he is able, then whispers to it once more.

"I do not know parlance.  Can cup talk to me too please?" Enrei requests.

Brennan smiles slightly and pours a swallow of water into the cup from his canteen.

"I deeply apologize if this results in me becoming possessed and killing you all," he says, swirling the cup. "But... I'm intrigued, and there are answers to be had. Most importantly, I think I'm the best suited for warded off such a possession. I hope. Wish me luck."

He then drinks the water from the cup and tenses to see what happens.
