Chapter 3

"I will be hero with you," Enrei speaks slowly.  Though there's no question in his statement, there is uncertainty in his voice. Whether it's about Brennan specifically, or a more general lack of understanding isn't clear, "But I do not think we should wait.  I have clothes already. This is important, yes?  We should go."

In reply to Enrei Omal'i (msg # 534):

Very important and I won't be able to carry all of this over the mountain on my own.  Why are you so fucking fidgety?!

In reply to Titus Blackwell (msg # 535):

"You should not wait to go do important thing.  You should go do important thing.  This is what means important." Enrei crosses his arms with a small hmph, staring down at Titus with a hint of agitation, "What means fidgety?"

Chapter 3

In reply to Enrei Omal'i (msg # 536):

Clothes are important too.  When you have two things that are important you need to make decision.  This will be done soon and we can't come back so we must do this now.  The stone has been there for years and will remain.  We will be fine.

And fidgety is not wanting to stay in one place, and anxious.  Like this.

He fidgets in his char.

Chapter 3

"Clothes are not important.  We have clothes," Enrei observes.  As Titus wriggles in his seat Enrei hmphs again, "I am not fidgety.  I do not do this thing," he makes some exaggerated twitches in a vague mockery of Titus' own example, "What if stone is not there because we wait?  How long do witches have this stone?" he points at Brennan's recent acquisition, "But now is gone from there."

Chapter 3

In reply to Enrei Omal'i (msg # 538):

"The stone at Losthelm is... much bigger. Huge. It's like a statue, so it's very hard to move," Brennan explains. "The new clothes might help us get a boat or a caravan en route, which would save us time in the long run."

He smiles slightly.

"Besides, we still have to go collect Bryce. I'd rather do that in the morning, so we don't stumble up the mountain in the dark. It also means we could pack up and leave immediately once we get there, if we time it right."

Chapter 3

"But to take this stone is very easy?" Enrei waves from Brennan's stone to his leg, "Hard things take time to do.  Waiting is bad idea.  If we need clothes for boat we can get clothes then.  We should go now." Enrei sweeps his eyes over each of the other three with a tight lipped expression before simply walking out.

In reply to Enrei Omal'i (msg # 540):

Titus shrugs.

Does he have any idea where he's going?

He kicks up his feet looking relaxed.

If he is going to act like this then you can go with him and take Bryce... bring the food and everything else over.  Deev and I can get the clothes and catch up with you on the road if you move slowly enough for us and leave us horses we should be able to catch you quickly.  Though I'd say neither Deev nor I fancy the idea of having to spend a night in the wilderness without you to strike us a fire or help us with camp...

In reply to Titus Blackwell (msg # 541):

Future Titus (OOC to characters)
quote:
Now that that is settled, I have a lesson in morality to impart to a friend of ours.

With this he prowls dangerously out of the conversation with Brennan and stalks the smith's apprentice until he gets him in a room alone.  Titus slips the latch on the door quietly and checks to make sure the windows are shuttered.  A familiar swirl of colors (from the initial story Titus told the Smith) coalesces around his head ending in Titus' profile.

As the apprentice screams in startlement the light winks out and sets itself behind Titus illuminating a silhouette of him holding a dagger.  He flicks his hand and the knife buries itself quivering between the smith's legs barely missing him.

What in the fucking name of God do you think you are doing.  Amazingly a rash of break ins started coincidentally right after I filled your head with stories of heroism.  This is NOT the kind of shit that endears you to Fastbender.  Especially not if you are dumb enough to do it in a town this small.

The light goes red as he speaks.

If you want do that you go to the nearest major city, Throngate.  Then you can live a life of crime there... robbing people who didn't raise you.  You have a community and a family here.  I would have KILLED to get that back.  Don't you dare fuck it up.

He holds out his hand and an orange aura glows from his bracelet running to his fingertips reaching, blossoming slowly towards the smith's face.  Suddenly with a rush the aura rears back forms points and drives itself directly into the smith's eyes, blinding him with orange for a moment.

I like you.  I'll be watching.  Don't disappoint me.

He says walking out the door.

The town does not actually have any horses of their own, only sheep, chickens, goats, pigs and some scraggly cattle.

The townsfolk are more than happy to host your party for another night, and once again make beds and food available.

Titus ducks into the smith shop before turning in.

Chapter 3

In reply to Brennan Otthild (msg # 552):

Titus goes back to being Titus flitting around the town the next day.

He visits M'Kron
He then visits the blacksmith

I'm sorry. Reports I had heard indicated you, I was... misinformed. He says genuinely.  I nearly trapped the scoundrel last night, and it wasn't you.  I need your help tonight, If we don't catch him then I will have to leave and it will be your responsibility to be the protector of this village.

He lounges among the ladies who are making his clothing as they are putting the finishing touches on his finery and his new travel clothes. He dons them immediately and wraps a headband with the sylized yin-yan of Fastbender on his head.  He thanks the ladies profusely hugging and kissing each in turn.  He doesn't even flinch when one or two pinch his ass.

As he does this he spins his own tales.  He tells of troubles his band must face at five points of the compass.  He tells most of problems to the south, then to the southeast.  He mentions their true direction briefly several times but the amount is miniscule compared to the rest of the tales.  He does this practice again with the rest of the townsfolk.

In addition to a hearty breakfast, the seamstresses of the town provide Titus with all of the requested clothing, alterations and other accessories.

The people, as mentioned, do not use coin terribly often, but they are able to scrape together a small pile (total value 11 Silver Suns) as an additional thank-you.  Divide this however you wish:

Chapter 3

Enrei seems somewhat on edge for the duration of their stay, and when morning comes he is more than eager to scale the mountain with Brennan, collect their horses, his goat, and be on their way.  Though he is very vocal about hurrying Brennan along, once they reach the summit near the witches' cave, he quiets down, and his mood seems to improve the farther they go.

Chapter 3

In reply to Titus Blackwell (msg # 556)

Titus tries to delay and distract Enrei as much as possible so they start as late in the day as they can.  He keeps sending him on menial errands across town to fetch things that are unnecessary or superfluous until Enrei refuses at which point he sends them on their way.  The rest of the day is spent much as the last one spewing more disinformation about the targets of Fastbender's legion, and how much he is looking forward to going south and finding himself a beach to lay on.

He does another encore performance each time he tells the story it gets a bit better, his moves more daring, Enrei more comical, Brennan more cunning.  When the night comes he stations himself, Deev, and the smith on three strategic rooftops to watch for the peeping Tom.

When you find him, you keep him in sight until I get there.  Point him out to me and I will take it from there.

He reveals three inches of his new sword, murder gleaming in his eyes.

Chapter 3

Enrei is surprisingly difficult for Titus to cajole almost immediately, and between each errand he asks Brennan if he is ready to leave yet, dropping Titus's request the first time he gets a response in the affirmative.
