In reply to GM (msg # 917):

It helps with the wise old healer schtick.  Also I think he is the oldest member of the party, currently.  Unless Brennan's appearance belies his age.

Re: OOC Discussion #3

In reply to Ciryl Fontaine (msg # 918):

Where are Bryce and Deev in all of this?

Can they see this boy or the other?

If I drag this one back will I still be able to pursue the limping one?

They're taking care of your horses and gear.

Deev isn't too great at thinking on his feet, Bryce doesn't give a shit.

If you drag one back you will have no way to catch the other, no.  You could certainly follow him but he'd have a few minutes to flee/hide/etc.

In reply to GM (msg # 922):

Last few questions... If you can't tell I really don't want to let any of them go.

When someone is knocked out how long do they stay out?

How close are the huts to each other?

What are the roofs made of?

Is there anybody around at the moment?

Re: OOC Discussion #3

In reply to Titus Blackwell (msg # 923):

When someone is knocked out, they might be out for anywhere from a few minutes to forever (blows to the head can kill, whether they're meant to or not).

The huts are randomly scattered.  Anywhere from 1 to 50 feet between.

From Keller's Hut, the next one in either direction is 10-20 feet.

Titus/knocked down guy are 50ish feet from Keller's hut.

Roofs are largely straw, some thatch.

There are people around, but not in the immediate vicinity.  Whether or not there are people in the huts is anyone's guess.

Indeed.

Some combat challenges aren't about foes that can kill you, but foes who frustrate your goals in other ways. ;)

Need To metagame a bit....

Brennan any ideas how to deal with this?  I want to do a downhill charge on gimpy but that leaves you to cover tweedle dee and tweedle dum. Is there an overwatch for this system?

In reply to Titus Blackwell (msg # 929):

We drag one or two back, let the other go. We'll search the house and meet back up at duck town proper.

All we need to know is the name of the guy bankrolling them, and we can probably learn that in other ways if need be.

In reply to Brennan Otthild (msg # 930):

When he says a silver he means a silver chip?  That seems high for a night of lodging and food... this a fair assessment?

[Private to GM: Does this guy seem the type to haggle?]

In reply to GM (msg # 932):

I thought it was high, as well, especially since it wasn't clear whether that was a silver EACH for the remainder. That's why I dusted off my negotiation skill.

I am pleased. Brennan's negotiation skill was never intended to be used to haggle anyway. Not with people, anyway. Good work, sir.

Re: OOC Discussion #3

In reply to Ciryl Fontaine (msg # 936):

Yeah, you're ALL shysters... but you're all using different skills which is why you are getting different results:

Titus is using Perform, under command: in essence he is "playing a role" and trying to force people to do what he wants by being what they want.

Brennan is using Negotiate, under Empathy: which is trying to come to a beneficial outcome by figuring out what people want.

Ciryl is also using an Empathy skill: but he's going more the route of understanding the person and their emotions and playing to that.

I must say that as a GM you are doing a magnificent job of making sure we each feel distinct as well.

Not sucking up, but I think that you deserve it for managing to tread these fine lines and (despite my cajoling) have kept us in our lanes.
