What's the plan?

You could camp on the summit, but the horses and all your equipment cannot follow.

You could move camp down the road and take the horses, with the risk of not finding a suitable place before nightfall.

Brennan will the cup work on the wolves again tonight?  Then we protect Bryce et al and we can climb up the mountain, camp up there, because I don't relish the idea of being exhausted and then fighting.

How long would the journey be to circumnavigate the mountain and arrive at the valley where our snake-addled town is?

The valley the town is in exists in the middle of the mountain range that divides the Kingdom from Nor.

According to any maps you have or have seen, there are no easy routes through the mountains except for A. Caravan Pass or B. going North and around them.

It is very likely there are more small passes that are difficult to climb (as this one is), but you don't know where they are.

Going down and through or up and around would take months of travel and would still leave you on the far side of of the mountain range (now in Nor) unable to reach the village in the valley.

Ok, so plan is:

1. Move camp down the road (North or South?)
2. Split party and have some people sleep in the mountains?

Yeah we will move it to the most defensible position as determined by someone with more woods smarts than Titus.  A place that is covered on as many sides as possible with a  limited entrance and lots of cover.  This is where the NPC's will sleep.

The PC's will climb up the mountain and camp near(ish) the witches and storm the castle in the morning.

At least that is my take.
