Alternatively sure, you can pull the door closed and block whatever.

Is that to determine whether the door actually closes, or just how fast it happens? Like, even a non-pair would close the door but without any width you'd get sliced up first if the other guy did roll width?

Unrelated: A skilled archer remains a TERRIFYING adversary and I'm pleased we haven't fought any yet.

Correct: you'll always succeed in closing the door (unless you die/get knocked out first etc) but the width gives me timing so you could get hit before you close it (as happened here).
