Silverglade swings weakly at the ogre that attacked him, but most of his attention goes into jumping out of the ogre's club.

Re: Chapter 004 - Pyramid Tier 5

Elder Voran misses by a wide margin.

Albricht, Sherborne, and Silverglade all miss the ogres, but only bit a little bit.

Seeing the damage done by Roak, Lanliss takes the opportunity to jump in and finish one of the two remaining ogres in a furious cleaving attack.

07:28, Today: Dungeon Master, on behalf of Lanliss, rolled 12 using 1d8+4.  Damage Roll.
07:27, Today: Dungeon Master, on behalf of Lanliss, rolled 15 using 1d20+4.  Attack Roll.

With the enemy farther into the room and even more friendly bodies in the way, Vsaati couldn't find a safe angle for her shot.  Desperately she flung a stone whizzing at the ogre but her caution sent it flying high, never threatening the beast.

OOC:

20:16, Today: Vsaati rolled 8 using 1d20+3.  Sling at ogre.

The one remaining ogre roars its frustration and swings at Roak, barely managing to catch the much smaller opponent, and only doing a little bit of damage as a result.

13:13, Today: Dungeon Master rolled 2 using 1d10.  Damage Roll.
13:12, Today: Dungeon Master rolled 14 using 1d20.  Attack Roll. (Hit AC 1, which is Roak's AC vs. larger than man-sized opponents when using his shield)

Roak looks down at his arm in surprise at the bruise. He then starts laughing. "REALLY? That's all you got?" he laughs. His laughing is so pronounced that he misses his chance to hurt the ogre.

Miss with my attack.
17:15, Today: Roak The Quick rolled 7 using 1d20+2.  Retaliate at ogre.

Re: Chapter 004 - Pyramid Tier 5

"Meet your Maker you flabby-fleshed, wart-wearing, knobby-kneed excuse of a cavern-crawler!"

Albricht rushed in with his mace held high but at the last moment he swung it in a vertical circle that threatened to entirely throw him off balance. The bellowed insult had left him a little bit breathless and the resulting upswing didn't have quite the onion on it that he'd hoped for, but it still was a decent hit for the oldster.

Bobbing and weaving (and wheezing), the ancient water-finder's sandals slid in a precise pattern of efficient footwork.

Attack hit AC5 for 4 damage...

Albricht's verbose fury results in the first hit being scored on this third ogre, and the thing temporarily winces back in pain before pressing the attack forward again.

The burglar moved to a better vantage point and tried the sling again, hoping to aid those in the front ranks with a well-placed shot.  And after the last aberration she was again rewarded, though the overall effect seemed to trouble the ogre very little.

Lanliss also fails to connect, perhaps the crush of allies so close to the doorway being the thing that prevented him from getting a hit.

07:25, Today: Dungeon Master, on behalf of Lanliss, rolled 9 using 1d20+4.  Attack Roll.

Regardless, the tight quarters also work against the ogre, which is similarly unable to land a blow.

07:26, Today: Dungeon Master rolled 2 using 1d20.  Attack Roll.

Re: Chapter 004 - Pyramid Tier 5

Albricht attempted an age-old battle tactic that had been passed down from legendary dwarven heroes of the Burghammer clan. He wound up and brought the magical mace down hard, just missing the ogre's extended belly... but that was the point of the attack, for when the ogre tried to suck it in, its enormous, fungal affected toes were vulnerable!

Only... it had been a few centuries since Albricht had practiced the technique... his aim wasn't quite what it once had been...

OOC: Umm... whiff!

Vsaati tries again with her sling, not wanting to botch things up by getting in the way of all the real fighters.  Unfortunately the ogre shifts in pain as Roak stabs it in the leg again, causing the burglar's stone to go whizzing past harmlessly.

Looking inside the room, you see that shelves line the walls of this room.  Stored on the shelves are items used in religious ceremonies (candles, incense, clerical robes, &c.).  One of the boxes of candles seems to have been smashed open and partly eaten.  Next to the smashed box are three large, stained leather sacks, obviously containing other items.  The dead ogres wear a variety of ill-cured animal skins and bear no obvious weapons.

Roak quickly cleans his blade and sheathes it, then searches the ogres for valuables, followed by examination of the leather sacks formerly in possession of the ogres.
