Wow.  It seems like it hasn't been that long.

I checked the introduction thread and found that the game started rolling around the end of April 2015.  Dang.  We're coming up on six years.

Certainly a testament to all of you... Seems like most game on RPoL last like 6 weeks before they shrivel up and die. LOL

I started here as the ill-fated Greyband and picked up Roak later on. He and Voran have managed to get by.

You play Greyband in Saga of the Shadow Lord game? I am puppeteering Killian over there.

I do indeed. Good game, that! And, yes, I repurposed the name in that game. Greyband was the name of my second D&D PC back in 1980, the first being a cleric whose name is lost to my memory; Greyband was a fighter who had a pretty good run of it.

Looking ahead to this week, I have to finish my current road trip (i.e. 14 hours on the road Monday) and then spend a lot of my week studying for a certification exam on Thursday. I will almost certainly not be checking in daily like normal until Friday.

It definitely does look like you guys are up to the challenge.  Things would have been much worse at this point if it were not for Hamburg's well-timed web spell and Roak's critical hit.

Yeah, I was dancing around the room like a butterfly-masker at a shroom party after that Roak/Hamburg combo! I really didn't want to have to think up another character already... :-P

Given we can move again, does that mean we can act this initiative round?

I'd say, "Yes," but we're out of combat now.

Just so I'm clear: Hamburg did not dismiss the web spell or cannot, right?

From a moderate read-through of the rules, I find nothing that indicates that the web spell can be dismissed, and it lasts for 48 turns (8 hours).

For flavor, I'd say that a magic-user could dismiss a spell, but certain spells would seem to have lingering... consequences. Web's probably one of those. So no, he didn't dismiss it, and he's probably not able to unless perhaps he cast the reverse of it, but he's out of spell slots for 2nd Level at this time.

In this edition concentration wasn't a thing.  The spell gets cast and it goes. Also, in AD&D dispel magic specifically says the caster can automatically dispel their own magic, meaning it was expected that the wizard had to cast that in order to do it. Not sure if that is the same in this, but probably...?

Sorry, but I need to step down from this game. I've been pulled in to 3 additional work streams at my job to help with the global restructuring of IT, and simply do not have any available bandwidth for RPoL for the foreseeable future. I wish you all the best and hope that I get the opportunity to roll some dice with you again in the future.
