"Quick, while we're leaving, someone throw a torch on it--see if it burns!"

Vsaati joins in the retreat as possible...

"Hmmm, no torch here", Sherborne says retreating as necessary while taking a glance at his lantern.

"Torch? Elves don't carry torches..."

Lanliss looked puzzled by the request, but then smiled.

"...Unless we're setting fire to Dwarves, of course."

Plathstream laughs a silvery laugh. He pulls out a torch and lights it with a tinder box as he moves. He hands it to Vsaati.

A torch? Why would we have torches?

"Huh? Ain't no setting fire to me. I am a water finder. Obviously." Albricht backs away from the slime as it starts to move.

"I have oil to light my lantern if someone wants that. But no torches."

"Time for the stairs now then?" The dwarf continues to move down the corridor away from creature. He reaches in and tries to grab Roak from the room where he was hiding. "Time to go little one."

I don't think weapons would be useful but maybe fire? Someone want to just try some oil and flame on it?

Plathstream holds the lit torch and waves it in front of the others. "I have it to scare away dwarves, naturally. Seriously, Vsaati or Roak, throw this at the slime."

Roak squeaks when Albricht pulls him out. Snorting resentfully, he takes the torch from Plathstream and hurls it at the slime, then retreating away from it again just in case.

"Quick, someone  throw some oil on the torch," shouts Silverglade, who hopes that nobody remembers that he set the slime off in the first place.

"Oh right now you want the oil when I'm half down a corridor!" Albricht rummages in his pack for one of his flasks of oil and lobs it toward Silverglade. "There you go. Catch!"

Roak's throw puts the torch fairly squarely in the middle of the slime as it rises up to come over the threshold of the doorway.  The nauseating smell of the toasting slime quickly fills the area, and it appears to be damaged somewhat, but not much.  Portions of the slime begin to dissolve the wooden shaft of the torch.

Silverglade looks thoughtful. "Does anyone have a better plan than running away?" he asks, as he prepares to run once more.

"Yes," replies Lanliss.

"Shut the door, then run away."

Plathstream, backpedaling a bit, lights another torch and hands it to Silverglade. "Light the oil and throw it," he suggests even as he tries to keep the slime a good distance away.

Shortly after his suggestion, Lanliss notices that there isn't a door in this particular doorway.

As he notices that there is no door Lanliss frowns, then thinks for a moment.

"Or we could just run away. Now. Time to go down below, methinks..."

And the elf does just that.

Vsaati spits in the general direction of the slime, then follows Lanliss below.

"Hope we can get past this crap on our way out..."

Elboc follows the others out saying, Good riddance  , let us move further diwn before we find more things  to stall our advance.

Sherborne shrugs and follows the others.

Plathstream sighs and follows the others.

Roak, meanwhile, has sprinted ahead, being rather eager to get away from the halfling-eating slime...

Onwards and downwards. Gushing green slime made this level a lot less appealing.
