Aidon stood in the doorway facing his two prisoners. Aidon was a leader, in charge of an outpost and accustomed to dealing with others, and they had a fierce conversation
{See Channel 4}. When everything was said, Aidon spoke, "
Jacqueline right?" Lady Jacqueline felt anxious, anticipating he'd made a decision. "
You can come out." She was both shocked and relieved, for it'd been a long time since she had dealt with someone rational. "
As for you half-orc, Adwonus I believe. . ." he continued to say. "
I believe that you're deluded – that's for certain. But, I'm not in the habit of locking people up simply cause they don't agree with me. I don't think you're a threat; in fact, I think you're more likely to get yourself killed in a barfight soon, but that's your business. You may leave, but don't think I'm handing you any weapons while you're in here. I'll give them to your dwarven friend – he can give them to you when you're outside." Adwonus walked out amongst the others, giving Herr Johannes a rather unappreciative glare. "
And there's one more thing. Something you mentioned. . ."
Marcus leaned toward Jacqueline and whispered, "
I need to leave. I heard the note the elf brought in, and I must be there to protect mother. But also-" "
You mentioned Larlben's son, Marcus. . ." Aidon turned. "
. . .I'm endangering you right now. Don't worry about me sister." Marcus took a step back. Aidon's eyes went wide, and he pointed at him, shouting to nearby rebels, "
Men! Seize that one!" Marcus bolted out the tower door to the parapet with men close on his heels, dashing through his fellow party members. A rope was tied around the battlements, the very same Darus had used. Nearly leaping over the side, Marcus grabbed the rope and slid down to the gates below. Rebels leaned over the battlements attempting to grab hold of him as he dropped, but they were a moment too late. Aidon called out, "
Get these gates closed for goodness sake!" Men in the North Tower hastily began operating the crank, and the iron portcullis slammed shut. But to Marcus' relief, he was on the western side, exactly where he wanted to be. Sprinting down the street, he escaped.
"
Damnit," muttered Aidon, who'd run onto the parapet. The party followed, watching Marcus disappear around a far corner. "
Now that was a hostage we could've used." He faced the rest of the party, "
No one save the half-orc mentioned you had a Larlben among your number, and I'm quite certain you knew. Though I should've recognized him," he said in spite of himself. "
The black hair and beard. Gods I must be blind." He glanced from Johannes to Dwalin, from Taisiya to Jacqueline, lingering on Adwonus a bit. "
Gods, I don't know what to make of any of you. I want you to leave, and now. If you're true supporters of our cause and can warn Kelden Delcor of the impending assault, please do so before dawn tomorrow, and you'll have both my trust and thanks {Quest Received: Warning of the Dawn}. But for now, I'd rather not have you in this guardpost a second longer." Johannes hastily spoke, "
Wait, I request your permission to bring Mikael along on our search for Kelden. Is this possible?" Aidon looked at Mikael, "
Is this what you want my friend?" The elf nodded. "
Very well, you may go. Take this note." He handed Mikael the letter of the imminent attack on Kelden's secret base. "
If you find Kelden, give this to him. And goodluck. Now, it's time for you all to leave." Suddenly, a voice shouted up from the gates below, "
And why in the blazes is this gate closed?!"
Aidon and the party leaned over the eastern side. At the base was a long haired man, thin and somewhat gangling. He was dressed as a priest, and an odd one at that. "
Hello? Open up!" He waved a walking stick toward the onlookers before banging it on the iron portcullis. [
Private to Herr Johannes; Lady Jacqueline Raynelde: Johannes and Jacqueline slipped into the North Tower and discussed both Adwonus and their map. Unseen, they rejoined the party.]

Private to Marcus Larlben: Marcus panted, nearly out of breath. "Well that was close." Satisfied they weren't going to following him, he slowed to a fast walk. The city was holed up now, people staying in their homes. A few people wandered in the streets here and here, but most were staying clear, fearful of the violence. Larlben Manor was not far off. Suddenly, a nearby shop window broke. Two men stepped out of it, carrying a nice rug and a few bits of jewelry - looters. They noticed Marcus, "Hey, looky here." Marcus stood, hand slowly moving toward the hilt of his sword. One stepped in front of Marcus while the other slowly moved behind, cutting off a decent escape. The one in front was ugly, young with a flat nose. He said, "Hand over all your coin bud. Sword too. And the boots." Setting down their loot, the one in front pulled out a club. Behind, the other toyed with a dagger in his hand.
