Re: IC: Celebration of all Celebrations
Always one to be "fashionably late" there arrived from a distance Ser Godfrey Ravenhowe leading a group of 10 armored knights on horseback and roughly the same number of young boys aging between 10-14, who rode a discrete distance behind the knights. Each man and boy, including Ser Godfrey, wore in addition to his standard livery & heraldry, a dark purple armband on their right arm with the symbol of a black raven's claw. These men were the Raven's Claws, a specially selected band of skilled veteran knights chosen from among the best of the Ravenhowe Knightly Order who were personally led by Ser Godfrey.
Like his older brother, Ser Godfrey was also wearing finely crafted scale armor. Ser Godfrey led his men and their squires into the courtyard, though the Raven's Claws knew to keep a discrete distance from the gathering nobles and family. Ser Godfrey and his Raven's Claws were not infrequent visitors to Kolwyn Hall as they would from time to time avail themselves of Lord Kolwyn's hospitality when out on long patrols hunting bandits that would keep them away from the Ravenhowe Seat of Raven's Roost. Only one of the Raven's Claws knights joined Ser Godfrey in approaching the nobles and when he raised his visor the resemblance between the younger knight and Ser Godfrey (as well as Ser Hassan) was clear, it was the youngest of the Ravenhowe brothers, Ser Ahmed Ravenhowe.
Ser Godfrey raised the visor of his helmet and smiled sheepishly at his relations, though with a mischievous carefree glint in his dark brown eyes, as he said in a polite and apologetic tone, "My Lord and Lady Kolwyn, Ser Hassan & Lady Aislin, assembled friends, family and noble guests, I offer my sincere apologies for the tardiness of my arrival.
My men and I had some last minute "business" to conclude with some rather unsavory individuals whom we happened upon on the road here. There was a disagreement regarding whether they needed to obey My Lord Kolwyn's laws, they thought they were free to commit crimes against the innocent with impunity... needless to say the Raven's Claws and I saw matters quite differently.
I am pleased to say that the "difference of opinion" as been suitably resolved in My Lord's favor and to the benefit of all, save the law breakers, with the individuals in question having been shown the error of their ways... may the lesson benefit them in the next life.
Still, I do regret my late arrival and I hope I have not missed too much of the joy of the Harvest Feast."
So saying, Ser Godfrey dismounted and bowed his head in contrition towards Lord & Lady Kolwyn as well as his older brother Ser Hassan and Lady Aislin.
