Re: IC: Celebration of all Celebrations

Ashara fixed her violet eyes on Mardax. "Thank you, my lord. I truly value such kind words, especially from a handsome nobleman like yourself." She did love it when people complimented her beauty.

"And we are glad to welcome you, Brindal. Another valorous warrior is never amiss."

Re: IC: Celebration of all Celebrations

Ashara Kolwyn:
Ashara curtsied to Ser Godfrey. "Welcome to Kolwyn Hold, ser."

Ser Godfrey responded in kind with a courtly bow to Ashara as he replied in a cordial tone, "Thank you Lady Ashara, with you here to brighten my reception I always feel especially welcomed at Kolwyn Hold."

Ashara Kolwyn:
She listened intently to his story. "Oh, how exciting! That was chivalrously done, Ser Godfrey. I hope you and the Claws are unhurt from the battle."
She added teasingly "One scar makes you look dangerous. Two scars would be too much."

Ser Godfrey smiled pleasantly but there were hints of strain at the corners of his eyes as he replied politely, "The Raven's Claws and I were doing no more than our knightly duty to protect the people and defend the land from the lawless who would harm both.

I know I can speak for all of the Raven's Claws when I say your kindly concern for our well being is very much appreciated Lady Ashara, please rest assured that by the Grace of The Seven and the guidance of The Warrior, the righteous survived the encounter unscathed."

Ser Godfrey paused before adding in a neutral tone, "I do agree with you my lady... one scar is more than sufficient.  Though I do hope that, despite my appearance, your ladyship never regards me as being "dangerous" towards you, Lady Ashara."  While Ser Godfrey had grown accustomed to the change in his appearance due to his scar (and the effect it had on others), it was still something of a sore point to him.  Though not for the reasons many might think but rather more for the "unfinished business" it represented (unfinished business that Ser Godfrey was reluctant to discuss with any except perhaps his brothers).

Mardax Kaldor:
"Well done, ser.  We did not get into any trouble on the way.  However my men would have dealt with such rabble similarly.  Unless I was on another lords land.  Then I would have had to take them into captivity to be judged by the lord."

Ser Godfrey turned towards Mardax, noting the familiar heraldry of House Kaldor, and bowed his head politely as he said in a polite tone, "I am pleased to hear that your journey was unperturbed by lawless bandits your lordship.

We of House Ravenhowe strive to do our very best to keep the lands clear of such predatory ilk, though with the rise of prosperity in the area and our lands serving as something of a crossroads for trade, it is true that the greedy merciless lot have been keeping us rather busy of late.

Hence why the men of the Raven's Claws adhere to the Band's motto of "Ever Vigilant, Ever Ready"... words we live by and words engraved in our hearts second only to those of House Ravenhowe, "Without Honor, Victory is Hollow"."

Ser Godrey paused before adding with a hint of chagrin, "But where are my manners?  The downside to dealing with uncouth villains day in and day out is that one's social graces are at risk of becoming rusty.

Please allow me to introduce myself, I am Ser Godfrey Ravenhowe.  And to my right..."
Ser Godfrey gestured towards Ahmed. "... is my younger brother Ser Ahmed Ravenhowe.  We have the honor and privilege of being siblings to The Knight of Raven's Roost, Ser Hassan Ravenhowe." Ser Godfrey bowed his head to Ser Hassan. "Might I have the honor of knowing your name your lordship?"

Re: IC: Celebration of all Celebrations

Mardax listened as Ashara returned his compliment, smiling at her sweetly.  She was quite lovely, and rumor had it that she was devoted to her family.  He would have to keep his eyes on her, not that it was hard to do.

Looking at the knight as he spoke about their duty, he listened intently and nodded.  "Indeed, we must do what we can.  We suffer as well from time to time, being so close to The Reach.  But my family has been protecting the Pass since the days of Nymeria."

As the knight appoligized and spoke of his manners, Mardax bowed his head lightly.  "It is alright.  I was letting you finish your tale.  It is rude to intterupt.  I am Mardax Kaldor.  Pleasure to meet you.  Lord Perros is lucky to have such fine knights in his service.  Pleasure to meet you all."

Looking back at Ashara he smiled again. "My lady, might there be a place where I could wash the dirt of the road from me?  Less you believe I may be too pretty, and wish me to remain as I am." The last part was a slight joke, though if she asked, he would remain as he was for the time being.  Eventually he would change.

"Godfrey," he said shaking his head with a chuckle. "I fear you must study our family tree more, how could you forget our cousin?" he asked curiously. "I apologize Mardax, it's been many years since we've visited the halls of House Kaldor, I believe I was still a squire since I've set foot there." Ser Hassan stepped foreward and grasped the man's hand with a firm shake.

"Our Mother Lady Rowena was not feeling up for the journey having decided to remain at home, she sends her regards, and hopes all of you are doing well, we have been planning to return to House Kaldor so that she may visit her family, but unfortunately our duties have prevented such possibilities, I beg your forgiveness in such a matter."

Re: IC: Celebration of all Celebrations

"I'm glad I can make you feel welcome, Ser. I shall do whatever I can to make your visit as bright as possible.
Doing your knightly duty bravely is surely worthy of a lady’s congratulations.  And I am happy to hear the Warrior favored your arm and that none of your men were hurt. I have no doubt that the villains were no match for such a fine group of knights as yourself and your Raven’s Claws”
Ashara said cheerfully
Ashara blushed; she'd only meant to tease Ser Godfrey, not upset him. "Please forgive me, Ser Godfrey, I know you are only dangerous to those who threaten the land. Have no concerns about your appearance; your scar merely makes you seem daring." She would have teased that she’d heard he could be quite a danger to the hearts of ladies wishing to marry him, but that wouldn’t have been appropriate in front of her father and guests.
She giggled at Mardax’s joke. “No, I am quite in favor of you looking as good as you can, my lord. If my lord father has nothing more to say to you, I would be happy to have one of the servants direct you towards the baths.”

Re: IC: Celebration of all Celebrations

Mardax nodded lightly to Ser Hassan as he spoke about it being a long time.  He had not seen his aunt in many years, and he wasn't completely familiar with all his cousins.  "Think nothing of it.  When one sister marry here, and a son over there, it can get confusing sometimes who is who.  He did no offense.  Re introductions are always welcome.. gives a chance at another first impression."  He smiled lightly at them as Hassan continued to speak about his mother.

"Indeed, my father also wished to be here.  However, times as they are it was not an option, so I came in his stead.  The benefits of being second born, you are given more freedom to roam.  I have been to many places my older brother has not.  Perhaps when things settle down, I might visit Ravenhowe?  I have not seen my Aunt Rowena for many years."

At Ashara, he smiled lightly.  Going closer, he spoke to her, hoping her father wouldn't hear with all the commotion and such.  He took her hand in his lightly.  "I was hoping you would show me around, but I understand if that is not... proper."  He kissed the top of it gently, before turning his attention to her father.  "With your leave my lord?"

Re: IC: Celebration of all Celebrations

Ser Hassan caught Lord Perros' eye before speaking up, "Now, Now Mardax, I'm sure the maid is more than capable of showing you to your bath, surly you can take a horse bath and quickly catch up with us before the fesitivities," though referring to it as a "Horse bath" may have sounded insulting it was simply slang to refer to a quick bath which covered the "necessities". Something men in military service often did when resources were limited.

"Besides it has been quite some time since Aislin and her niece have been able to speak, I'm sure the two would love to catch up," he stretched his legs before looking at his wife to step into the conversation.

Jadis comes out into the courtyard, hair still slightly damp. Her leathers are gone, replaced with a modest dress of gray silk. She tugs at her scarf, carefully making sure its in place. Taking her place behind Ashara, she leans forward and quietly whispers "Sorry!"

Ashara blushed and returned Mardax's smile when Mardax kissed her hand, surprised. Handsome and charming. "I'm afraid it wouldn't be polite of me to simply walk away from my guests" she explained. "But if you'd like, I would be delighted to show you around Kolwyn Hold later."
She turned towards Jadis when her sister enters, and smiled brightly at her. "This is my cousin, lady Jadis. Jadis, this is Mardax Kaldor." she introduced Jadis to Mardax.

Jadis gives Mardox a polite curtsey, a welcoming smile crossing her face. "A pleasure to meet you, Lord Kaldor. Please allow me to extend my own welcome, in addition to my cousin's and the rest of our family. I hope your stay in our household will be comfortable and joyous." Her speech is a bit stilted in the manner of someone who knows the proper words, but has little experience with truly using the proprieties.

Re: IC: Celebration of all Celebrations

The fact was that even before Hassan spoke up, the name "Mardax Kaldor" rang a bell in Godfrey's mind.  Of course the fact that Godfrey had last seen his cousin when Godfrey was 8 and Mardax was 5 and 20 years had gone by since then might go a long way to explaining why Godfrey did not immediately recognize his cousin.

With a casual shrug of his shoulders, Godfrey accepted the well meant "chastisement" as he said in a resigned tone, "What can I say brother... our cousin was all of 5 years old when I last laid eyes upon him.  Needless to say young Mardax has grown up quite a bit during the intervening score of years."

Godfrey glanced over at Mardax and smiled sheepishly as he said in a polite tone, "I assure you cousin that I meant no offense in failing to recognize you.  No doubt we both look a good deal different from when we last met... well taller at least, no?"

When Ashara spoke up again, Godfrey realized he had allowed his feelings regarding his scar (and the deeper meaning behind it that it held for him) to show all too readily.  With a slightly chagrinned expression, Ser Godfrey replied in a contrite tone, "There is nothing to forgive my lady Ashara, you were merely speaking your mind and I would be the worse kind of hypocrite to take offense at someone doing that considering how guilty I often am at being all too free in speaking my own.

Though I am pleased to know that you do not regard me as a danger to yourself or your loved ones, for I should never wish to be that my lady."

When Mardax spoke about the "benefits" of being the 2nd born, Ser Godfrey allowed himself a small, sly smile as he said in an agreeable tone, "Isn't that the truth cousin... freedom... and oddly enough all the "responsibility" that comes with it.

As for visiting Raven's Roost, as kin you would be most welcomed.  I am sure Mother would be pleased to see you Mardax.

And speaking of kin..."
Godfrey turned towards the Raven's Claws who were keeping their polite distance and he motioned for one of them to come forward and join them.  "...perhaps you recognize another cousin of yours closer to home?

Ser Armand Kaldor, the younger son of your uncle, he came out to Raven's Roost shortly after we drove those limp-wristed Targaryen wenches... ooh, there go my manners again... "gentlemen from the north" out of our beloved Dorne and he's been a valued member of the Raven's Claws ever since.  I believe he is about a year or two younger than you if I remember correctly."

Ser Godfrey looked over at Lord & Lady Kolwyn as he added, "I apologize for my language my lord, my lady... I'm afraid that even with an upcoming Royal Wedding planned between House Martell and House Targaryen, it will be some time before I can think fondly of the "Dragons" and their northern lapdogs.

I'm afraid we Ravenhowe, like many good Dornish families, have lost too much to so readily let bygones be bygones and bury the hatchet so easily.  No doubt peaceful coexistence with the northerners is going to take some time and effort to get used to."

Re: IC: Celebration of all Celebrations

Ashara was pleased that Jadis had remembered her courtesies. She whispered back "Don't worry about it. And well done with the greeting."

She nodded, relieved, when Ser Godfrey said there was nothing to forgive. "I would never regard you as a danger, Ser Godfrey. You are a friend and an ally to my family, and I am very grateful" she said sincerely.

She curtsied to Ser Armond. "Ser Armond, a pleasure to see you once again."
She flinched slightly at Ser Godfrey's language but nodded in agreement. "I quite understand, Ser Godfrey. The invasion was a hard time... it's not easy to forget and forgive. But perhaps the Mother's mercy will help us to see a kinder age. I've heard the King of the northern kingdoms is as pious as any man alive." She still remembered when the Six Kingdoms had invaded. Dorne had warred with the northern kingdoms all the time in the histories, she'd never expected it to fall. It had only been for a year, but she could remember at the time the worry that Dorne had lost and might never be free; that their old enemies in the Reach might trample over them for the rest of history. A hard time indeed.

"Perhaps now that the war is over you'll capture the heart of some pretty silver-haired princess. After all, you seem not to have met any girls in Dorne good enough for you to marry..." she teased Ser Godfrey.

Listening intensely at the wonderful conversation between family and friends Lord Perros walks up to each offering his hand in greeting. Not interrupting just simple finishing his greeting and smiling offend at the exchange of words between each.

Lady Tansa does the same in polite fashion following her husbands lead.

"Well now that we have that out of the way lets get inside and clean up for tonight's feast, ... gentlemen and ladies" as Lord Perros leads the way back inside.

Once inside Lord Perros excuses himself as he has some important business to finish for tonight activities. Then polity let his wife take over.

Lady Tansa gladly takes over in guiding and instructing the servants to make sure they assist all the guests in making them comfortable.

Each guest having their own separate quarters, some rooms looking as if they were given up by another who may have been using them, most likely some rooms belonging to heads of the servants within the household.

The soldiers and knights that have travel with, are given room with the house guards and some of the others bunk within the house soldier barracks.

The bath chamber is large enough to hold many at the same time, a common practice throughout Westeros. Thou many Dorne do not enjoy the common bath unless shared with someone of interest but its tolerated never the less.

OOC: Players may post freely until night fall, once each are done with their interaction with one another just post at the end "OOC: TIME PASSES" this will tell me to continue with the feast.

Makarios exits the bath-house, wearing fresh clothes. He heads to his temporary quarters, having given up his rather large quarters to house a number of Ravenclaw knights, and dumps his dirty laundry. He makes sure his ringmail is cleaned and his gear is ready to head off for the hunt later on that evening.

He then makes his way to the stables to ensure his Roundsey has been stabled properly and finds Reginald had done what he was told and completed his chores. The boy was nowhere to be seen, however, suggesting he was getting up to some mischief somewhere else.

After he is finished he does a quick sweep of the grounds to see if anything needs tidying away before heading to the main hall for the feast.

OOC: Unless anyone particularly wants to engage Makarios in conversation, Time Passes.

Mardax looked on over at Jadis, bowing lightly.  No where near as refined or dignified as Ashara, and a bastard to boot.  There was no gain there, however, as Ashara made the introductions, he would go with it.

"Pleasure to meet you, Jadis.  I thank you for your warm welcome.  Sorry to cut this short, but I was just about to go wash up.. something you had just finished by the looks of your hair."  He stated plainly, smiling, before bowing to Ashara.  "I look forward to that tour, My lady."

As he turned to leave, they started to talk about the invasion.  Mardax mouth went straight, and he looked over at the people talking, before turning back his attention to the servant sending him to his quarters.

He washed up, using some of the oils he had brought with him.  When he finsihed, he smiled and told Bridal to wash as well, he was being invited to dinner.

When they were both done, and wearing what was some fine clothes for the both of them, though Brindal's was more.. practical, they went down stairs.

"Jadis I was half expecting to see you as armored as Fatimah," he said gesturing back to his eldest daughter who was now seeing to her horse being stabled, she approached them. Her body language though feminine spoke of the discipline of a soldier. Removing her head dress her hair was done up in a tight bun which she then removed allowing her long hair to cascade past her shoulders. Walking up to her he nodded after thinking a moment, "Jadis how well do you handle a blade?" he asked curiously, looking at his daughter she gave a small shrug.

As Hassan approached, she dropped into a curtsey once more. "Lord Ravenhowe, I probably would have but Ashara likely would've dumped me into the scorpion pit."

She hesitates for a moment, then whispers to Ashara "We do have a scorpion pit, right?" Turning back, she shrugs at his question "Pointy end goes in the enemy is about the sum of my knowledge, my Lord. I much prefer the bow."

"I would not! The armor would protect you from scorpions. Plus, I don't think we have a scorpion pit. I'd probably just make you listen to extra sermons from the Septon; after a while you'd probably beg me to push you into a scorpion pit" she joked.

Re: IC: Celebration of all Celebrations

"I've always preferred my trident my self," he said as he patted the weapon that was slotted by his waist. "Do you know why a trident is so dangerous?" he asked the young woman curiously. "The weapon almost lies about where it truly is, the prongs for a piercing weapon give it a broad surface, which requires an opponent to use greater effort to dodge, many would be enemies focus on the center fork, it is not an elegant or subtle weapon, they are often barbed to inflict greater wound upon removal." Hassan did not speak out of blood lust, or enjoyment, but out of sheer intrigue for the design of weapons. "But I could always use another archer Jadis, keep that in mind if you ever wish for a bit more excitement." It was then that Hassan stared sternly at his niece, "Now that is no way to speak of the septon or his sermons, young lady. He speaks to us on behalf of the seven and he and his sermons are to be respected."

Fatimah nodded to the two young women, she did not curtsy as she was in full armor and found such motions to be... silly. She listened to the conversation and smirked, "Glory I was unaware there was any to be had in this place," she said with a thick layer of sarcasm. "Fatmiah, that is no way to speak to your cousins," Hassan interjected quickly. Rolling her eyes she stalked off to go and aid the others with their tasks. "I apologize for her crudeness, Fatimah's ego has been growing since she's begun riding with us," he said to the two girls. "She recently killed her first man in single combat and now she thinks not even the 7 kingdoms combined can stop her," shaking his head he watched Fatimah walk away. "Remember Ladies, Overconfidence is the most dangerous form of carelessness."

Re: IC: Celebration of all Celebrations

Ashara listened intently to her uncle talk about the trident. She knew a bit about weapons, but was interested to learn more about the way her uncle fought.
"Uncle, my sister is a noble lady, even is she has trouble acting like one. She is not a hedge knight to be recruited" she said, then sighed when Jadis seemed to want to go along with it. "Oh, sis, you are a handful."
"B-but, I didn't- I, I only meant to joke about my sister's dislike of long sermons!" Ashara explained, flustered, when her uncle chided her. She blushed brightly. She herself was very pious, and had never meant to insult the septon. "I, I would never question the merits of our septon or the Seven. I'm very sorry, uncle, I'll never do it again" she said meekly, lowering her eyes. She smiled ruefully at Jadis when her sister pointed out that this was the first time she'd ever been chided for speaking ill of the Septon "You have me there, sis."
Ashara looked confused at Fatimahs' words; she'd tried to always be polite and friendly to Fatima, and she had no reason why Fatimah would be rude to her. "Well, if she's growing overconfident, watch out for her carefully. I shall pray to the mother for her safety."
Once Fatimah had left, she said to Ser Hassan "Uncle, when are you going to stop letting your daughter wear armor and play with swords? She'll be old enough to be married soon, and you are going to have a hard time finding her a husband if you don't curb this wildness of hers."
She laughed when Jadis mentioned the search for pirate gold. "I didn't mind going on that little adventure with you, but you could have just said we were going swimming to begin with and saved us some time."

Ashara Kolwyn:
"Perhaps now that the war is over you'll capture the heart of some pretty silver-haired princess. After all, you seem not to have met any girls in Dorne good enough for you to marry..." she teased Ser Godfrey.

Ser Godfrey raised an eyebrow as he smiled and said, "Quite the contrary I assure you my dear Lady Ashara, it is not I who will not have the fine Dornish beauties but rather they who will not have me.  For some reason the ladies do not seem to regard me as "marriage material"... I do not know why or what I might have done to convince them of that.

As for "silver-haired princesses"... The Seven forbid!  If the Targaryens are as persistent in their nagging as they are in their futile desires to conquer Dorne, I should become a pitiful hen-pecked husband aging well before his time if I were to marry one.

Besides my lady, you know only Dornish ladies possess the fire of passion and the zest for living that would suit me, those "northern girls" are all just too... chilly for my tastes."
Ser Godfrey feigned a shiver to make his point about the "frigid" girls north of Dorne.  Of course some of the bitterness that seeped into Ser Godfrey's voice likely stemmed from what still felt like the fresh loss of his Father, the late Ser Rashid Ravenhowe, who had perished seven years ago during the major push to drive the Targaryens out of Dorne.

Ashara Kolwyn:
She nodded "We go hunting together sometimes. I'm all right with a bow, but hopeless with a knife."

Ser Godfrey said in a mock serious tone, "Beware of praising your marksmanship too much my lady... if you're not careful, my brother will attempt to recruit you into the ranks of House Ravenhowe as well!"  Ser Godfrey gave Ashara a small wink to show he spoke purely in harmless jest.

Ser Hassan Ravenhowe:
"I've always preferred my trident my self," he said as he patted the weapon that was slotted by his waist. "Do you know why a trident is so dangerous?" he asked the young woman curiously. "The weapon almost lies about where it truly is, the prongs for a piercing weapon give it a broad surface, which requires an opponent to use greater effort to dodge, many would be enemies focus on the center fork, it is not an elegant or subtle weapon, they are often barbed to inflict greater wound upon removal."

Ser Godfrey sighed as he glanced back at his courser Fortis and the Ball & Chain that showed prominently from the saddle as he said in a casual tone, "Well that's my brother for you, always thinking tactically even down to his choice of preferred weapon.

As for me... I guess I just like to smash things... a good, solid ball & chain, "blunt & brutal" just like me.  There's something satisfying about getting a good solid hit on one's opponent.  It may not be fancy and it may not be elegant, but it can sure be effective in the right hands.

But I suppose the same can be said for any weapon if wielded by an expert."
Ser Godfrey leaned closer to Ser Hassan as he added, "Though perhaps a discussion of the lethal effectiveness of a knight's weapons is perhaps not considered a "proper" conversational topic for genteel ladies?

Remember brother, not every noble daughter is as feisty and martially inclined as my dear niece Lady Fatimah."

Jadis Sand:
Jadis chuckled, then watched Fatima leave a little sadly. "A shame, perhaps, that killing has become such a defining point in her life."

Ser Godfrey watched Fatimah depart and sighed slightly as he said, "A knight's, or for that matter any warrior's, First Kill is always a life changing event.  Until that point one has only been trained to fight and to potentially take life, but after that first kill one knows for certain that one can wield the power of life or death over another.

It is a heady feeling but one that should be tempered by the realization that, just like one's fallen opponent, one too is merely mortal and some day another with more skill or more luck may wield a similar power of life or death over one's self.

Overconfidence is often a frequent risky development following a knight's First Kill... and we can only hope that time and experience will teach my niece that no knight is immune to the dangers of overestimating one's abilities or underestimating one's opponent.  I just pray to the Warrior that Lady Fatimah will learn that lesson soon and survive the teaching of it unscathed."

Ashara Kolwyn:
Once Fatimah had left, she said to Ser Hassan "Uncle, when are you going to stop letting your daughter wear armor and play with swords? She'll be old enough to be married soon, and you are going to have a hard time finding her a husband if you don't curb this wildness of hers."

Ser Godfrey glanced from his brother Ser Hassan to the departing Lady Fatimah and then back to Lady Ashara as he gently shook his head and said softly, "There is nothing wrong in a lady knowing how to defend herself, one never knows when she may need to put such skills into use.

While it is not my place to chide you my Lady Ashara, and I would not try to do so, I would ask that you be careful not to let Lady Fatimah overhear such remarks, her reaction could be... un-ladylike.

An odd, far away look came into Ser Godfrey's eyes as he spoke of a lady knowing how to defend herself and it intensified as he spoke the name "Fatimah".  While it had been 17 years since his sister, Fatimah (in honor of whose memory Hassan had named his firstborn daughter), had been killed during a bandit raid upon her peaceful riding party during a day trip away from Raven's Roost, Ser Godfrey still felt the pain of her loss.  They had been barely 2 years apart, the gentle Fatimah had been older but Godfrey had often played the roll of the defender & protector of his older sister despite the age difference, and they had been close growing up, perhaps closer than to their other siblings.  As such, her loss had hit Godfrey the hardest and many suspected his vehement pursuit of any bandit was fueled by a desire to avenge his sister's death upon such lawless ilk (as much as it is also his duty as a Knight of House Ravenhowe).

Ashara Kolwyn:
She laughed when Jadis mentioned the search for pirate gold. "I didn't mind going on that little adventure with you, but you could have just said we were going swimming to begin with and saved us some time."

Ser Godfrey's earlier darker mood as memories of his lost sister flooded his mind was agreeably lightened by the playful banter between Ashara and Jadis and he allowed himself a genuine mirthful chuckle at Ashara's remarks.

Re: IC: Celebration of all Celebrations

“No lady who will marry a handsome, daring knight like you? Perhaps you should seek out a northern lady after all, the women of Dorne must not have any sense.
Though I am pleased your tastes still favor us Dornish girls. We must be doing something right”
Ashara said with a mischievous smile.
“It’s true, if the dragon princesses are anything like their kings they would be imperious and given to grandiose plans they haven’t thought through. Besides, I hear they are all promised to the king.” She made a face in disgust. “Such practices from those who would style themselves our rulers."
Ashara giggled at Ser Godfrey’s joke. “I’d distract your men too much, I think, for recruiting me to be worth it. On the other hand, if Jadis were to sign up I might have to as well. My sister gets in quite a lot of trouble even with me to keep an eye on her, I can’t even imagine the trouble she’d get into without me.”
“Please look out for lady Fatimah, Ser Godfrey. Between you and my uncle I’m sure you can keep her safe” she asked. With both her uncle and Ser Godrey explaining how risky it could be to be overconfident, she was now nervous for Fatimah’s safety.
“I know there is nothing wrong with a woman defending herself, I am a lady of Dorne, not a wilting flower of the Six Kingdoms” Ashara said proudly. “But there is a world of difference between knowing how to defend yourself and riding around in armor seeking battles.”
“Lady Fatima is family, Ser Godfrey, I would never be rude to her. And what I say here I only say because I hope it will help her” she said sincerely. “And please, if I do wrong don’t fear to admonish me. I’ll never learn otherwise.”
