Fatimah is impressed by Bron's boast. She certainly thinks its possible. And she can see how it could be sarcastic. Birds are clever like that. I think we need to make sure it doesn't learn the trick of keeping us from missing the boat. Fatimah comments, before turning and taking off towards the boat. Wait for us! We don't want to swim! She runs past Ashara making sure not to bump into her, and significantly more confidant she made the right choice of attire.

"You've never been on a boat, uncle?" Ashara asked, surprised. Ser Hassan was so experienced, Ashara was sometimes surprised to realize there were things he hadn't done. Gosh, I hope uncle's not seasick.
She helped Hassan's children into the boat and smiled at her uncle when he approached. "It's never too soon to enjoy good company!" she replied cheerfully.

Re: IC: By Land & Sea

Ser ernesto had been un#usually quiet as the ship set sail. He still had his Huge dominating stature about him yet he somhow seemed more reserved than normal. There were no recruits to train here nor armies tha needed fighting. He felt out of place from this fact.

He figited with a small knife, Playing with the blade as he stared across the sea. He appeared to be looking for oncoming vessels to fight. As if that was a ray of hope on the ocean, rather than the despir it should cause. Sheathing the knife he gave up the chase however. and decided in his own words to watch the pups dance. But was lost in this world.... His thoughts turned to how he would cope in kings landing if this was to be expected of him also. No one was actually speaking their minds and this allways disturbed the knight.

"Nice of you to join us Fatimah," her father said with a shake of his head. "Have you seen Badar?" he asked looking about for him. Looking toward Ashara her uncle shrugged, "I've always had me feet firmly planted on the ground I'm afraid, it's been years since I've even seen king's landing, When I was younger I spent most of my time here," he said referring to the lands of Kolwyn. Ashara knew that Hassan had squired for her Grandfather when he was much younger and was even a page here before that. He and her father had grown up together.

Ser Badar stepped forward from the crowd of Knights helping the others onto the keelboat. He still had his spear in his hand as he pushed past the others. "My Lord? Is there something I can do for you or your family?" He was fidgeting with his armor as he spoke. Badar hadn't left Dorne in his life and only had rumors of King's Landing to go off of. Like most Dornishmen, he had nothing nice to say about the Targaryans or those loyal to them.

In reply to Strohan Storm (msg # 26):

"Did not intend ask of rooming or roaming?" Cyra asked Strohan with a smirk and falling into step besides him. His stumbling only brought on a more playful look in her dark eyes. Instead of being offended, the foreign woman appeared amused. I like this one. The thought showed in how comfortably she walked besides the giant of a man.

"I no aware. Even big ships small, and we are many--how do you call, up-born?--many up-born here." As they reached one of the boats, the one besides Ser Hassan and his entourage, she stopped and turned to him to ask, "Might I borrow assistance, Strohan Storm?" Her manner remained cool and relaxed, but there was a small darkening of her cheeks at asking for his assistance, especially with other more nimble souls behind her scamping into the boats with grace.

Then she tilted her head curiously. "Storm. I not familiar with house. I know Kolwyn, Redwyne, Targaryen, Ashfield, Martell, Tyrell. Where is Storm?" The question was genuine, but in close proximity to her request for help and how quickly she shifted subjects it seemed as though Cyra were using a genuine question to smoothly mask her own embarrassment. She paused and smirked meaningfully, "Does Storm roam?"

Bron brought the heavy box onto the deck, and assisted the others in doing the same. Once everything was on board, he noticed Sundancer up on top of the mast. "That's the CROW's nest, you stupid bird!" He yelled up. The Eagle cocked his head, glancing at Bron, throwing him a questioning look. "You may be as black as coal, but no one thinks you a crow!" Bron said again, as if his words where actually understood. Given their years together, Bron liked to think they were.

Cyra Vyraes:
"I no aware. Even big ships small, and we are many--how do you call, up-born?--many up-born here." As they reached one of the boats, the one besides Ser Hassan and his entourage, she stopped and turned to him to ask,

Strohan enjoyed Cyra's company and her tone. It was soothing to listen to her talk in her distant tounge.  With a slight grin Strohan responded, "They are called high born...which is somewhat funny because I know some nobles that weren't born so high. I guess they enjoy the name so they can forget where they came from."

Cyra Vyraes:
"Might I borrow assistance, Strohan Storm?" Her manner remained cool and relaxed, but there was a small darkening of her cheeks at asking for his assistance, especially with other more nimble souls behind her scamping into the boats with grace.

Strohan, looked down at her as she spoke. Her tone slightly changing. For a moment Strohan wondered if something was wrong.

"Mi'lady you can ask what you wish of me. If it is within my ability I will help in any way that I can..."

Cyra Vyraes:
Then she tilted her head curiously. "Storm. I not familiar with house. I know Kolwyn, Redwyne, Targaryen, Ashfield, Martell, Tyrell. Where is Storm?" The question was genuine, but in close proximity to her request for help and how quickly she shifted subjects it seemed as though Cyra were using a genuine question to smoothly mask her own embarrassment. She paused and smirked meaningfully, "Does Storm roam?"

For a moment Strohand though he missed the area that she needed assistance in but he went with the the conversation anyway,

"I am from no house. Storm is a bastards name. I was born in the area known as the Stormlands. So because of that I was branded with the name."

Strohan watched to see her reaction once she realize she was walking with and speaking with one much lower than herself. He may tower over most he stood beside but his name often put him lower than the common field workers. In an attemp to continue talking to her he went on to answer her about Storm roam?

"Does Storm roam.....That is a very good question. Often I find myself roaming much more often then other might like. I go where I'm needed or where coin takes me. Might I ask why? Is there a place you would have me roam to?"

He wasn't sure she would want his help now that she understood his bastard name but something about her gave him reason to offer.

Having never been across the sea he wasn't sure how ladies of Cyra's level of living looked at bastards. He wasn't going to speak of his fathers name, or the house he runs. He would rather no one knew the blood they shared. Blood he would like to see run one day.

Shaking his thoughts away he brought himself back to Cyra. As he looked at her he couldn't help but wonder how his father could cloud his vision from the beauty that stood before him. Another reason to dislike the man even more.

Re: IC: By Land & Sea

Dio Dio had been shadowing Cyra for most of the day...there had been a point early in the morning where he woke in a pleasure house sore but self congratulatory.

As they walked down the docks he watched the big Storm at her side and he watched her.  He had no gift for tongues like Cyra did but he knew flirting when he saw it.  Still he was determined to not be a spoil sport and give the girl her space to do what she willed.

As they approached the boats he knew she'd need help getting into something as rolling and unstable so he slid passed her and Strohan to step into the boat first.  Turning around he saw her looking to the giant for aid and his apparent inaction.  Clucking his tongue slightly in amusement he offered Cyra his own hand to step down into the boat.

"This one isn't very bright plum, do you want my help or should I stay in your shadow some more?" he asks in their native tongue.

Strohan was taken back by the man but said nothing. He steps to the side and smiled at Cyra, "Mi'lady I appologies, I lost focus on my surroundings in your beauty. Please allow him to help you, if you should fall I'll be sure to catch you."

Strohan stepped up to the side and watched as the ship rocked back and forth for a moment. Normally the thought of tossing this little man into the water would have crossed his mind but after his reflection of his father and the sight of Cyra he didn't give it any thought.

Ser Hassan turned around to see Badar at his side, "Ah there you are Badar," he said to him. "I'm afraid you'll need to remember you are family." Hassan scratched at his chin, his cousin was much younger then him, by 21 years. Badar had not been a knight for long either, being so young to have earned his spurs was impressive. He was quite ambitious, but he didn't want to see him get over his head. "So tell me, both of you," he said to both Fatimah and Badar. "Do both of you have intentions of Competing?"

Gha, your sneaky Fatimah cries out at Badar's sudden (to her and probably no one else) appearance next to her father.. She takes a moment to center herself. Of course, there will be both a melee and a joust if I am correct? I'm pretty sure I could handle myself well in the melee and avoid making a fool of myself in the joust, although I think I'll leave that one to the men. Plus, it will be a chance for me and Ashara to dress up, which will be fun and she'll love.

Re: IC: By Land & Sea

She was immersed in the conversation with Strohan, looking at him curiously to hear that he was a bastard. Someone had warned her that bastards in Westeros were outcasts at best. She opened her mouth to speak when Dio stood besides her offering her his hand. The old pirate has always had a way with timing, this being no exception given how quickly Strohan seemed to snap back to formalities.

Cyra looked back and forth once between her beloved Dio and Strohan and sighed. Men, she thought to herself. Something in Strohan's reaction made her wonder if he understood her native tongue, though it was unlikely that he did. She smiled at Dio and took his hand as a gesture and teased him in Myrish, "You're ever helpful, and I adore you for it, Blue Beard. But let us see what this one does. It's useful for us strangers to get to know the locals and their character, no? You've been getting to the 'bottom' of the women after all." A few pebbles dropped in her stomach though at Dio's quick reaction. Did he think it unwise to reveal a weak leg to a sworn-sword? Or was that thought all her own?

Leaving her doubts in those pebbles, she returned her attention back to Strohan, "It strange. Clearly nervous about being bastard, but you give strong name. Storm. Sailers and merchants live and die by storm. Even Dio." She gives Dio a wink and his hand a gentle squeeze before letting go and offering it to Strohan, palm down. Cyra's face looked downright roguish, "Yet you give in easily. Shall we board? I curious where you have roam."

In reply to Ashara Kolwyn (msg # 39):

Bron sees Ashara laugh, and he grins. Then he moves over behind her, and calls out to the bird once more. "Look! Will you come down, you stupid giant crow, if SHE asks?" He rolled his eyes and folds his arms as if utterly annoyed. Behind Ashara's head, he hold out a treat the bird loves so much. He knows the bird's keen eyes can spot it.

Assuming Ashara calls to him, the eagle flies down and lands on the railing next to her, chirping lightly. If and when she pets him, Bron slips the animal a treat. "Bloody flirty bird..." Bron pretends to complain.

In reply to Fatimah Ravenhowe (msg #41):

Badar nodded his head at Ser Hassan at the mention of their familial ties. He was still fresh from his vows and so in most situations he chose the more formal of two interaction options. It was going to take a lot of reminding before he could force himself to be more casual. " Yes Ser, I will do my best not to forget," he said softly.

Fatimah's shock sent him reeling a bit. He was about to throw himself into an apology before he though better of it and closed his mouth for a moment to listen to her talk about the tournament. He nodded as she spoke, right up until that last part. He had often seen Fatimah with a weapon in hand and wielding it well. He hadn't given much consideration to her in fancy clothing. He was silent for a few moments after she stopped talking.

"I hadn't considered either event to be honest. I am not so confident in my jousting that I would risk losing Habool. He has been my most faithful friend since before my vows. On the other hand if I attempted to joust with either Ayman or Kedar," he was suddenly aware how many horses he kept, "I might make a fool of myself. For, neither of them is of the stock and breed to ride into honorable battle. I'd sooner joust from the back of hobbler." He didn't know if his comparison of a craftsman to a work horse was proper but it mattered little in the grand scheme of things. "I could fight in the melee and it would be a good experience, I had however considered my duty to protect paramount to competition. I do not know that I trust our hosts enough to let my guard down inside their city." Realizing how open he had been with his thoughts he stopped talking and continued to fidget with his armor.

He looked at the ship and the small boats for a long second. "Ser, would you prefer I accompany you on the ship or guard the caravan heading to King's Landing by land?"

Dio couldn't help but chuckle a little as he retracted his hand and scratched idly at the scar on his cheek.  The former pirate made his way to the far side of the small craft to make room for his charge and her oversized compatriate.

"None of the important women...didn't want to ruin your negotiations before they begin after all." he offered in flimsy defense with his lightly accented Myrish, "Are you planning to delve that deeply into this one's character?"

Taking her hand, and be careful not to sqeeze it to tightly he walked the ramp to the boat and helped her step over. Walking with Cyra along the deck of the ship. He looked out across the water and then turned to her.

"Being a bastard doesn't say very much about who I am, but it says a great deal about the type of man my father is. I would be just another child if my father had not been given a title. I hold no love for a man or woman based on a title. I would much rather hold my judgement based off of their actions."
He wasn't sure how Cyra would take that but once he started to explain himself he couldn't help but finish. Pausing for a moment he took a breathe and gave her a soft smile.

"As for sailors and merchants, I'll be honest some knights have died by a Storm as well..." he couldn't help but chuckle, "I'm sorry what were you asking me about where I roam?"

The lord and family heads over on the first Keelboat, .... several boats continue to load up the ships. Cyra's merchant vessel gets loaded with finished bolts of silks. They are almost all set, the keelboats are just about done going to and from - the loading is now completed.

Ravenhowe and Kolwyn with a few other have taken the lead ship and Crya and the others take the merchant ship to be there home for the next few days until they reach the port of call by Blackhaven.

OOC: I will give the players choice to which ship they board.

"Please Sundancer, would you care to come down here?" Ashara asks as sweetly and politely as though she were trying to convince her father to give her something. She looks a bit surprised when the eagle actually does land. "I guess he does like me" she says as she strokes the bird's feathers. She smiles fondly at Bron's mock-complaints.

"Oh yes, that does sound fun" Ashara says excitedly to Fatimah. "Perhaps one of us will end up the Queen of Love and Beauty."

"It looks like we'll be heading for different ships. Hope to see you soon in King's Landing, lady Cyra!" Ashara says and bids a fond farewell to Cyra for the moment.
