Ashara smiled at Bron. "I love hawking, I think I would like that." She noticed her father staring, however. "Excuse me for a moment, Bron" she apologized. She walked up to her father, remaining behind him deferentially. "Anything the matter, father?" she said softly. She looked over at the Ironborn ship, remembering stories she heard about them. She felt glad to have Gabriel to protect her.

Fatimah follows her father and Ashara Yes being named the Queen of Love and Beauty would be quite the coup. And yes father, I was planning on using the ball and chain. Even a blunted greatsword is not something for mock battles. One event it is then the melee for me. Fatimah looks at the Ironborn ship not saying anything. Combat on a ship. So many things could go very, very wrong.

Bron smiled at Ashara, and watches her head over to her father. He raises an eyebrow and looks at the Ironborn ship the man was staring at. He wished he could see like Sundancer could, and he could tell his Lordship what was going on over there. However, Bron had no way of communicating to the bird like a warg could.

Re: IC: By Land & Sea

One of the sailors approaches Lord Perros, "M'lord the Ironborn vessel is slowly preparing to sail. But they don't seem to be in a rush. Your orders?"

"Tell the Captain we should be ready at a moments call, .... make sure the men are ready if a fight should break out. Keep the archers to the stern out of sight, and the rest below decks." Lord Perros continues to look on, .....

"Ser Hassan have your Ravens Claw ready I'm concerned that the Ironborn will take advantage of the merchant ship when we leave to open waters. The merchant vessel is under our protection but the law doesn't stop them on the open sea to try to take its bounty. And help get the women down below decks."

"SAILOR! signal the other ship to be ready to sail, on our lead."

"I think our chances are good. After all, those northern girls can't compete with us Dornishwomen" Ashara said to Fatimah.

Ashara was confused by her father's reaction to the Ironborn. I thought he said he had asked them here, but now he thinks they'll attack. "Father... how bad is it?" she asked, worried. She'd been through something like this before and didn't want to go through it again. She cast a worried look back to Bron.

"I will consider the two events and," Badar was in the middle of saying when he had heard the call to his Lord, Ser Hassan. He made a quick motion to un-sling his shield and find a safe place to leave it at rest. It was nice, he thought, to have a symbol of who he was but the shield was such an unwieldy thing in his hands. He was much more confident with the spear and the natural protection it provided through distance. He held his breath for a few moments leveling his gaze at the Ironborn ship in the nearby waters.

"Your command my Lord?"

In reply to Ashara Kolwyn (msg # 56):

in a soft voice He replies "It will be fine daughter, do not worry yourself,... Lady Tansa places her hand on his back, ... "they will not attack they are Ironborn not savages, but for some there is little difference, .... I can not see them become outlaws of Westeros by attacking us. Lets leave them and show that we are better men in the eyes of the Seven." Perros gives a smile to his wife, "Yes my love your are wright we are better men and we will sail, ....  "Give the signal Captain set sail to Blackhaven, ...."

The sails are adjusted and the anchor is raised the wind and tide is good and they begin to sail out over the Sea of Dorne. Lord Perros walks to the captain "sail in close to their ship I want to give my farewell to the Ironborn."

Re: IC: By Land & Sea

Bron raised an eyebrow at Lord Perros's command. Those where Ironborn ships. He had seen the results of the 'way of Iron'. Raided villages and docks, burned homes, women sized-children killed. They where nothing but vermin of the ocean-raiding those weaker and running away to the sea when the consequences came for them.

"My lord...should I take your daughter and Lady wife below?" He asked.

"No Bron, in fact tell the others I changed my mind and come on deck if they like to see the ironborn up close" .... he smiles at the thought. "Be prepared Bron this is a site you will not want to miss, ....."

On the bow of the ship is Lord Perros, his lady and a young women (Ashara), a few others stand around them, the sailors are focus on keeping their ship in line and at a safe distance but they are coming in very close. Perros has a sword sheathed in his hand.

Holding his sword by the sheath .... with his hand & sword extended out in front of him, ..... the ship comes in closely, ........ Yelling across the deck "Fight the 'Storm', .... freeman you are ...." he has gives his farewell.

The ship slowly turn when clear, and heads northwest.

Fatimah continues to watch the Ironborn ship suspiciously. Looking to see if they follow or ready some form of weapons. It would not be good to get caught unaware by a volley of arrows.

The ironborn rely to Lord Perros; "May the drowned god watch over you and your ship."

As the ship gets further away from each other - they seem to be setting sail as well, but they are slow about it.

"Well...that's a first." Bron said, seeing a Iron Born ship sail away rather than after someone. He looked back at Lord Perros. "And they won't burn any coastal villages on their way  back to that island of theirs, my Lord?" He wanted to believe it, but the only time a Iron Born could be trusted was when Bron smashed their heads in.

Ser Hassan watched over the preceedings like a hawk, his spear was in hand as they passed the ship. "The Iron Born have always been odd ones, borderline savages," said the older knight shaking his head. "Perros how long will the journey to King's Landing be?" he asked inquisitively.

Re: IC: By Land & Sea

Ashara waits nervously as it seems a battle will break out at any moment. She sighs with relief when it doesn't. She waves farewell to the Ironborn vessel

Ashara smiles wryly at the words of the Ironborn. "I never thought that I'd have Ironborn wish me well. I never really thought they'd see me as anything but a target for their raids. Drowned God... such strange people." she says, though not loud enough for the other ship to hear.
She nods to her uncle. "For all the damage the dragon kings have done, at least they've brought the Ironborn somewhat under control"

"We will be traveling with families from the Reach? When I was a young girl, Lord Tyrell had briefly ruled Dorne for the Young Dragon. Times have changed... for the better, if Seven are kind." she says hopefully. The Reach had long been an enemy of Dorne, but perhaps this was a kinder age.

Bron looked at the leaving ship, and glanced at Ashara. Then he looked back to her father. "My lord, I would ask that I can accompany you and your family. I fear the ill will of...others...may require all the extra eyes and ears you have available." He said, hoping the man did not order him to stay with the ship. Then again, he just might-for reasons that have nothing to do with safety.

In reply to Bron Snow (msg # 67):

Lady Aislin looked on toward Bron Snow as he approached, she looked at him with slight disdain. She wasn't foolish and his attempts to be with Ashara were far to heavy handed, and with the family needing to Marry her off before she became to old his constant flirtations would be nothing more then a nuisance to House Kolwyn's attempts. "Truly you fear this, Snow? You are far to honorable to have any ulterior motives to wanting to stay with my family? Surly the brave Knights of House Ravenhowe and Kolwyn are more then enough. Unless that is to say you are challenging their competence."

In reply to Aislin Ravenhowe (msg # 68):

Bron blinked at the sudden 'attack' from the lady. If it could be called that. Of course, he half expected Ashara's father to say what she did. Not to mention Bron had punched a man for accusing him of such, and it always had a bad result. This was a woman, and he knew why the Lady was doing this. He would always cause fear and suspicion where ever he went. He was even reluctant to respond, least she regard it as a threat to her safety.

"No! Of...of course not. My apologies then." He said. Overhead Sundancer cried out, but Bron kept his eyes on his boots. Of course her accusations where off...or where they? He was so glad to meet someone who was not frightened of him, maybe he did not think about what he was doing. He rather doubted Ashara looked at him that way...or maybe in some wonderful dream she did. He was a nobody, and she was the heir of House Kolwyn.

Fatimah looks at her mother then Bron, then her mother. That was out of the blue. No reason to let our guard down, around the Ironborn. I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw one. Fatimah says as she reflexively tries to keep everyone from fighting.

Re: IC: By Land & Sea

The journey is expected to take a few days to the a small village within the Bone way from there to Blackhaven.

Strohan Storm has been helping greatly and his his encounter with Cyra Vyraes has been interesting to say the least. One can only wonder what's on his mind as they plan to return to the Stormlands.

Bron Snow & Ashara see to be getting along well. Perhaps not fully understanding the southernism ways has miss-spoken and few seem to wonder why the lord and the family have taken to Bron so. Regardless he sails with the family which is an honor in its own.

Gabriel Laurent has stayed closed to his charge and has been quite extra quite. The mystery knight remains a yet bigger mystery to some.

Ser Hassan Ravenhowe is his normal self and has taken a watching carefully,  .....

AS Fatimah Ravenhowe has stayed close to Hassan and their ways, .....

and then Aislin Ravenhowe, traveling so far, well the Ravenhowe's are known to stay close to one another in everything they do, .....

Ser Badar Kaldor has been silently ignored so far, he's not sure if its just because they are too busy or they have other agendas, regardless if he wants to make his mark perhaps he will have to stand out in some way.

Cyra Vyraes & Dio Dio have been treated like nobility in most matter, the lord and family have taken to them both. The others seem to be very attracted to the foreign beauty and capturing accent of her voice and figure.

Two days at sea and the waves have become rougher and the rain and sky have become unkind to this trip.

OOC: straight Will check for sea-sickness and, if you have any specials add them as well - if your PC is a sea going character then they must completely fail to be sea sick - those that have never sailed if you get sea sick you will suffer these effects until kings landing and will need to properly RP it as we go :)

Re: IC: By Land & Sea

Bron was a tiny bit put off by the rocky waters, but he had much worst. His first time at sea he had 'painted the deck' as he had not quite succeeded at getting his head over the side. However, Ashara had done very well last time they where at sea, and she had been a prisoner of all things. Still, he brought a bucket to her quarters just in case...

OOC-Bron is a salior-and I added in my swimming skill to the roll-although if its not allowed I can take it out. What is a complete failure?

Edit: I am assuming the diff is ether 6 or 9. Even if it's 12, I did not fail it by 5, so I should be ok.

14:02, Today: Bron Snow rolled 8 using 4d6, dropping the lowest dice only with rolls of 6,1,1,1. Will vs sea sickness, possible swimming skill to add to the roll?

Re: IC: By Land & Sea

Ser Hassan had not taken to the sea well at all, in fact most of his time had been spent heaving over the side of the ship, losing what ever most recent meal he had eaten. "Oh mother have mercy!" he could be heard exclaiming before the all to familiar sound of vomiting could be heard. When Hassan managed to pull himself from over the side, his normally dark complexion was pale and he had drops of sweat forming along his brow. Turning around he threw himself onto the deck of the ship leaning his back against a barrel as he buried his face in his face in his hands gasping for breath. "Never- again..."

Re: IC: By Land & Sea

Aislin had fared much better then her husband, and seemed rather comfortable at sea, but was tending to her husbands illness. She seemed to be alleviating the vomiting through having him suck and chew on ginger root which she had brought with her from their home. As he was bent over the ship's ledge her hand was on her back patting him in a consoling manner. "Oh dear..." When Hassan had chosen to take his impromptu seat against a barrel she had handed him another slice of the ginger root. In her other hand was a water skin which she handed to him as well. With a rag she wiped his brow of the sweat, other then being well trained with handling gold, Aislin was a rather competent healer. "Don't worry Hassan, we'll be in King's Landing soon enough."

14:13, Today: Aislin Ravenhowe rolled 18 using 5d6, dropping the lowest dice only with rolls of 2,6,4,5,3. Healing. .
