Re: Las Vegas: Annabelle Wright

Annabelle keeps peddling as she crosses Western Ave and threads through a parking lot between the two buildings. She tries to keep the crazies interested until they have followed her halfway through the car park. Ducking and weaving she slowly builds her speed as she continued to lure the group forward.

OOC: Her intention is to lead the crazies through the car park. Once she is at the far corner she will turn right and peddle for all her might along the front of spearmint rhino and back towards the trucks. Hope that clear enough.

Re: Las Vegas: Annabelle Wright

As Annabelle rides her bike into the parking lot the mob of crazies follow. She rides past several other crazies, one of which tries to grab her but she's too quick on the bike.

The mob quickly doubles in size and going back the way she came was out of the question.  Ahead there are several crazies, but they aren't bunched up in a mod like those behind her.

OOC: If you stay ont he road, I'll need a piloting roll on your bike to see if you make it to W Desert Inn without a crazies grabbing you and causing you to crash your bike.

Re: Las Vegas: Annabelle Wright

Weaving through the parked and abandoned cars Annabelle flew along at quite the pace on her bike. She had the corner of the building in her sights as she dodged left and right lifting her front wheel as needed.

The ride was much easier without the traffic moving and there was a lessor chance of the doors on the cars flying open due to some careless driver.

Re: Las Vegas: Annabelle Wright

Annabelle reaches Desert Inn Drive, which is full of cars trying to go somewhere. To her right the girl sees the Ryder truck being driven by the paramedic lady.

Laney drives up Western Ave against the traffic of cars heading away from Desert Inn Drive. She then sees the girl on the bicycle on her left.

Ahead W. Desert Inn Drive is a quagmire of cars trying to get somewhere, with a number of crazies mixed in attacking people. Some people are abandoning their cars and fleeing on foot. Others are fighting the crazies, some with success and others without much success.

Four crazies exit the stopped traffic and head towards the Ryder moving truck....another two exit the stopped traffic and head towards the girl on the bicycle.

There was little she could do other then make her way towards the Ryder truck. She peddled off at top speed making for the moving truck, hopefully getting there before any of these deranged people. She looked back to see if Highland Drive was drivable for the truck if they could get there.

In reply to Annabelle Wright (msg # 6):

Out of the corner of her eye, Laney realised there were people still fighting the crazies oof to the right. She tried not to think about that.

Off to the left, she saw the bicycle courier that had bravely decoyed off the crazies and probably helped them escape. Her first priority was to try and help her, without getting caught in that gong show on West Desert Inn. Then maybe they could help those that fought their way free.

As the roadway immediately North looked to be completely jacked up continuing west through the parking lot seemed the only reasonable course. Lamey rolled down the driver side window as she drove west on basically an intercept course towards the northbound Annabelle. "Get in the passenger seat and ditch your bike! Or keep riding and hang on to my mirror!" Holding on to the driver side door mirror's chromed steel support struts was a risky move and one she would never suggest otherwise, but it looked like that was the only way Annabelle could keep her bike if she had a mind to.

Either way, she slowed down so she could either stop or otherwise let Annabelle hang on.

Re: Las Vegas: Annabelle Wright

Annabelle looks at Highland Drive and sees that it's pretty much in the same situation as West Desert Inn rd. Pedaling towards the Ryder moving truck she sees that several crazies have surrounded the cab. Two move towards Annabelle, while two other try to break int he driver and passenger side windows.

No sooner does Laney roll down the window to yell at the bicycle rider than she sees a crazy approaching. She quickly rolls the window back up before the thing can reach in. To the west she cab see that  the parking lot is passable, but beyond that is the derailed train. The crazy hits the driver side window, while another hits the passenger side window. The driver side window siper webs from the impacts. The the passenger side window shatters, and the crazy begisn to try and climb/crawl intot he cab of the Ryder moving truck.

Annabelle turns a fires on each of the crazies walking towards her, someone had said something about head shots so that is what she tries to do. She can see the woman in the cab and then the crazies surrounding it. If she puts both of her targets down she will move towards the truck.

In reply to Annabelle Wright (msg # 9):

Laney stomped on the brake to stop the truck. Not only did she not want to leave Annabelle behind, plowing into something while she dealt with the crazy in the cab would be disastrous!

Drawing her Glock, she fired twice at the head of the crazy that had crawled in through the passenger window. Her ears rang with the sheer volume of the gunshots inside the cab! Turning, she fired at the crazy through the spiderwebbed glass of the driver side window.

Action 1: drawing weapon.

Action 2: Firing called shot to head, point blank. To-hit is anything over a 1. Called shot is -3, she has a +2 to strike with pistols.

02:53, Today: Lakeisha 'Laney' Carmichael rolled 5 using 1d20 with rolls of 5.  Shot 1, called shot to head.
02:54, Today: Lakeisha 'Laney' Carmichael rolled 13 using 4d6 with rolls of 6,1,1,5.  Damage, .40 S&W, x3.

03:03, Today: Lakeisha 'Laney' Carmichael rolled 3 using 1d20 with rolls of 3.  Shot 2, called shot to head.
03:04, Today: Lakeisha 'Laney' Carmichael rolled 14 using 4d6 with rolls of 5,6,2,1.  Damage, .40 S&W, x3.

03:07, Today: Lakeisha 'Laney' Carmichael rolled 5 using 1d20 with rolls of 5.  Shot 3, called shot to head.
03:07, Today: Lakeisha 'Laney' Carmichael rolled 15 using 4d6 with rolls of 5,2,4,4.  Damage, .40 S&W, x3.

This leaves 1 Action to Dodge, or to shoot if she hasn't put down her targets.

Re: Las Vegas: Annabelle Wright

Annabelle fires at the first crazy. The bullet hits the crazy in the jaw shattering it. The impact causes the crazy to fall forward. Her second shot at the second crazy isn't that great and misses. But it does trip over the first crazy. This allows Annabelle to ride past the two on her bicycle.

With the two crazies at least slowed down, the young woman makes her way to the Ryder truck. Annabel watches as the woman in the Ryder shoots the two crazies assaulting the driver & passenger sides of the truck.

Laney fires two shots into the head of the crazy trying to get in through the passenger window. The crazy then disappears from veiw. The driver side window then shatters as the crazy there hits it. Laney then fires into the face of the crazy twice putting it down.

Annabelle reaches the Ryder truck, behind her the two crazies she got past have gotten back up and are approaching.

[Private to Annabelle Wright: Just an FYI:  Not sure where you got the +5 to strike. But you have a +2 to strike with handguns, then factoring in the -3 to strike for a called shot equals a -1 to strike.]

Lifting her bike over the passenger side mirror or putting it between the cab and the cargo box, which ever is easier Annabelle then climbs into the cab. Puffing she introduces herself "Hi...Annabelle, that was rather... unsettling."

In reply to Annabelle Wright (msg # 12):

Laney holstered her sidearm once again. She hadn't been keeping perfect track of her shots but she figured she was down to half a mag in the Glock, if that.

"Hi, Laney, pleased to meetcha. Honey, I was a paramedic in N'awlins, this ain't nothin' but another day at the office!"

Stepping on the gas, she made sure the International 4300 didn't pick up too much speed but was faster than the crazies. On the radio she transmitted, "Ace, we're still mobile. Heading westwards through the parking lot towards South highland. It's pretty hairy here, we'll come to you. What's your 20?"

Her course was to continue west through the parking lot towards South highland Dr. but that route dead-ended at the Las Vegas Freeway, which would be jammed. The only thing she could think of was they could find a way through the space between the buildings and the freeway, through the underpass heading north.

She saw that since she'd last been around here temporary hurricane fencing had been erected across the laneway leading westward around the north side of the building. There were crazies to the left, crazies behind and a traffic jam to the right, also with crazies. It looked like going forward was still the best option.

"HANG ON EVERYONE!"

14:02, Today: Lakeisha 'Laney' Carmichael rolled 31 using 1d100 with rolls of 31.  Drive Truck.

Re: Las Vegas: Annabelle Wright

As Laney speed up to plow through the fence she runs over the two crazies that Annabelle had shot. One crazy manages to hold onto the front of the moving truck while the other slips underneath. There is a crunching noise as it's head is ran over by the passenger side wheel.

The Ryder truck slams into the fence and easily plows through it but is slowed by a dumpster. The crazy holding onto the front of the truck is now pinned between the truck, the fence and dumpster. The fence wraps around the front of the truck, creating a temporary barrier against the trio of craziers who were milling around the dumpster. These three hang onto the fence and go for a short ride.

Once Laney gets into a more open area she stomps on the breaks. The dumpster continues it's momentum and slams into a parked car. The crazy holding onto the front of the truck is flung off. The fence falls forward trapping the three crazies underneath as Laney turns left and drives over the fence.

The parking lot has several abandoned cars in it, and several crazies but to get through would be mean slowing down to weave around the vehicles. South Highland drive is full of stopped cars and crazies trying to get in them. Trying to cross the street would be near impossible.

Three crazies in the parking lot head towards the passenger side of the moving truck as Laney weaves through the abandoned vehicles....

In reply to Annabelle Wright (msg # 15):

They jolted through the fence, pushing the dumpster along in a shower of sparks and a squeal of metal. Laney was left with no option but to slow down and weave through the parked vehicles. She aimed for the gate at the far end, which led back in the parking lot, but they had company in the enclosed space. Somehow, more crazies were in there, close enough to grab at the passenger side and hang on!

Making the decision that they couldn't allow this, but their ammunition was running low, Laney called out, "head's up, Annabelle!". Jerking the steering wheel over she tried sideswiped as many of the crazies as she could, hoping to shunt them away using the truck's fender and bumper.

Re: Las Vegas: Annabelle Wright

Laney tries to navigate the jumbled mess of cars and stay ahead of the crazies, but three of them get dangerously close to the passenger side of the Ryder moving truck.

Annabelle takes aim and fires at the three crazies approaching her side of the vehicle. Her first two shots miss, but the third and last shot hits one of the crazies in the center of its forehead causing its brains to splatter all over the side of a white car. As one crazy reaches the passenger side door Annabelle ducks inside to avoid getting hit/grabbed. The crazy grabs onto the rim of the window….

Laney then guns the engine of the moving truck and ends up scraping the crazy off by driving within inches of a parked car. The body of the crazy is torn away while the hands and arms remain clutching the rim of the passenger side window. Laney and Annabelle both spot the Ford F150. It’s on the other side of S. Highland drive past a parking lot full of abandoned vehicles.
Four crazies begin to approach the Ryder moving truck from the front. Three can be seen in the rear view mirror, and ten approaching from S. Highland drive itself….

With the abandoned vehicles in the parking lot there was no way to outdrive the approaching horde of crazies...

OOC: Zombies will be reaching the vehicle itself after 2 melee actions...

In reply to Darkside Trooper (msg # 17):

Laney felt so tired, like she'd been running for months. Of course it had been maybe an hour or two at most. Whichever route they took more crazies, more abandoned vehicles seemed to spring up block them. Heck, they were even travelling south instead of north, where they wanted to go, although hopefully they could get turned around soon. But they were low on ammunition and sooner or later they would hit a roadblock. going on almost seemed futile at this point.

There were more crazies up ahead, a line of stalled vehicles on the right and light industrial buildings to their left. They had a few seconds time to coordinate with the others. She slowed down to about 10 miles an hour and picked up the hand radio.

"Ace, this is Laney. We're across South highland from you in the opposite parking lot. Ca you see us? We're going to go south and try and loop around, get to where you are. Can yo hold on?"

If any crazies got too close she either tried to avoid them or, if they looked like they were in danger of getting aboard, run them over.

Laney snakes her way through the parking lot as the crazies surround the Ryder moving truck. With both the driver and passenger side windows busted they try to reach in and grab Laney and Annabelle. Laney does what she can by running the truck up along various vehicles to scrape the crazies off. Annabelle has to resort to shooting three crazies directly in the face as they try to get to her on the passenger side.

Annabelle held on as the truck moved through the parked cars and scrapped off the crazies that managed to get a grip. She kept her handgun ready and her eyes out the window trying to spot trouble or a route for the driver. At least she was relatively enclosed, one of her fears when she was on the bike was being surrounded by these people.

Laney continues to weave and push vehicles aside while trying to scrape off any crazies that try to hang on. Twice she ends up hitting a vehicle nearly head on and does damage tot he front of the Ryder moving truck as evident by the steam rising from under the hood.

She finally breaks free of the stalled vehicles and meets back up with the Ford F150 back at the parking lot in which they had initially started from.
