Starting location is something I have not figured out yet.

I do want to avoid the deep south of the U.S., for obvious reasons. I am partial to the West Coast of the United States because that's where I live.

Re: OOC (Questions? Complaints? Ideas?)

In reference to starting location:

I'm partial to NYC...the thought of the Dead Streets of New York in relative comparison to the hustle and bustle...midnights in Manhattan give a little glimpse, but it really is the City That Never Sleeps.

For an idea of just how dead and abandoned and overgrown it can become I like the scenes in the Will Smith movie, "I Am Legend".

West Coast is cool too.  Talking Cali or Oregon/Washington and the like?

In reply to Newb 1 (msg # 6):

Per the books, the cities are death traps...but starting the game out as an 'Escape from NYC' adventure would be kinda cool.
  • Zombies all over.
  • Lack of firearms to start with (I think NYC has some strict gun laws), but I'm pretty sure you can find plenty as the game progressed.
  • Characters could be from anywhere on the world (on vacation), or residents of NYC.

If on the West coast: California or Oregon since I've lived in southern california until I was 14 (then again when I was station at 29 Palms), the Oregon coast during my high school years, Salem Oregon after I got out of the USMC, and I've been living near Modest/Stockton for a little over a year now.
