In the morning the women are first let out of their cells and led to a showering facility. Once they return the men are allowed to do the same. Throughout the day each person in the stockade is taken into a room to speak with a USAF officer.

The room is quite simple and looks like the interrogation room from any one of the Law & Order TV shows. There is a single table and two chairs across from each other. There is also the mirrored wall, obviously a one way mirror. The only real difference from the TV show is a pair of USAF Airman in each corner behind the ‘detainee’.

Luke isn't hand cuffed or anything like that.

Across from Luke is a USAF Officer wearing a pair of gold oak leaves on his ABU’s (Airman Battle Uniform, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airman_Battle_Uniform ). He has a number of file folders in front of him.

Luke chuckled, "None of your fancy folders tell you my name? Since you asked real nice like, it's Luke. What's your name boss? Fancy leaves you got there... what'd you do to earn those?"

The USAF officer thumbs through the folders until he finds a file. "Well this one is the only Luke so it must be you."

"So tell me why didn't you want to hand over your weapons upon entering the base?"

Luke looked at the man as if he were completely ignorant, "Are you fuckin' serious man? Have you been outside this place? Shit has hit the fan bro. I don't know that it hasn't in here. Your word, no offense intended of course, doesn't mean dick to me. That's why. Because I ain't goin' out like a bitch." Luke paused, "Sir." he added with a sarcastic salute. "What's my paper work say?"

"Yeah I've seen what it look like out in the city." He writes down a few notes before explaining further. "Luke, we can't have civilians moving about the refugee areas armed because it will cause problems. Some people will use weapons to steal food, and belongings from others. Some will even use them to rape women."

"As for your paperwork....we don't have anything regarding your local criminal record, and your not in the Federal Governments database."

Luke rolled his eyes, "Yeah, boss, that's right. Shitty people do shitty things. YOU are responsible for keeping people safe. Not taking their shit from them. That doesn't really scream 'we're here to help' to me boss. But what do I know, and damn right I'm not in the Feds database. Now you guys come in here tellin' everyone what they can eat, or when, locking up people who ain't doing shit illegal... way to build trust."

"We have hundreds of people not locked up who followed instructions when they arrived here. Once their personal items are decontaminated they will be returned to them."

"Taking weapons away is just one way to ensure that there is some semblance of order. You haven't tried to steal anything, injure anyone so as long as there is an understanding that you won't try to cause trouble we'll release you from the stockade."

Luke shrugged, the military wasn't going to listen to him. Whatever. "Thanks Adolf, I appreciate that. I'll be a good little boy, I promise."

"Luke, That kind of attitude is only going to make us think your a dissenter who will attempt to undermine our efforts to keep everybody on the base alive until we can evacuate.”

"So while we are going to release you, we will be keeping an eye on you.

Luke grinned, "You're just making me famous, sir." he says with sarcasm, "Look, I ain't gonna cause no shit. But at the same time, I don't think you guys really get what it's like out there. It's messed up, real messed up."
