OOC 2 (Questions? Complaints? Ideas?)

This is where you can officially complain when the other PC's frag your ass.

Yes you may complain if the die roller does not favor you.

Re: OOC 2 (Questions? Complaints? Ideas?)

Sorry about the lull. Been busting my ass last couple weeks at work to get everything squared away for a fifteen day vacation with four kids. Spent the last 3.5 days on the road seeing Grand Canyon and all the roadside tourist stops my family could handle. In LA now but after Christmas on the way home we will be stopping in Vegas so I'm gonna relive the route of the game and head over to Nellis just to get a good mental image. Anyway we will be on a cruise and down in Mexico so my posting may be lacking till January 2nd. Everybody have a Happy Holiday!

In reply to Robert E. Lee Jessup (msg # 4):

Ha ha, best of luck! Take some good pictures of Nellis for us! Even better, have a look at Hoover Dam. I was there as a kid some 35-40 years ago, all I really remember is now merged with "Fallout: New Vegas".

It's always fun to have a look at in-game locations in real life. I am running a Twilight 2000 game on RPOL that is set in my city (Vancouver). One of the players also lives here and over the years we have made several field trips to different in-game locations that are important or interesting. (Always fun to walk down an alley in Chinatown, pointing out where you'd put the Claymores to take out the HAs...)

Added: can Laney tell what's in the Hesco barricades?

It is clear to me Robert that you take Roleplaying to a whole new level.  Disguising your scouting mission as a vacation how very shrewd ;P, no doubt the children are all part of an elaborate ruse to throw off the authorities.  Have fun on your "Vacation" :D

I bet your kids are stoked to go on a cruise ship, I know a guy who goes every year(realator) and the size of those things when he explains it man it would be cool to see.

In reply to Lakeisha 'Laney' Carmichael (msg # 5):

Oh, you're playing/running a T2K game?  I've been wanting to get back into one or start one myself.  I only have 1st edition in PDF, but it was the original and I still enjoy it despite it's current inaccuracies for a military career path.  There was a game some Polish guy was running that was fun, but died off...I was wanting to do something like the movie Fury -- a lone MBT or IFV trying to fulfill a last desperate type mission in the post-apocalyptic war setting (with a little anime styling).  Just making time to play in several games and run a SW game for some friends all on RPOL is challenging enough right now.

Sorry DST...(to be talking about another game...)

Not worried about people talking about other games in OOC.

Not to brag but I could say I'm starting "Such and such game" and post a link. Within 24 hours I'd have a majority of people who play in my games join.

BTW I am waiting for more people to post before I make a GM post.

I think Joint's right, there's no easy way to move the barricade. Even then there's the gate. Not too many people seem eager to rat-fuck the vehicles for some reason but I guess I can see why.

Oh yeah, I don't think DST has need to be concerned about competition from other games in any real sense. I would consider his games the gold standard! Out of courtesy I would probably ask before making a mass recruitment post, although since you seem interested please follow the link:

I think I had the Pole in my game. He left to start his own as (among other things) I don't think he was happy about his PC being under the command of a female PC. (Women have been allowed to serve as combat soldiers in the Canadian Forces since 1989.)

The setting is 2.0 (an alternative timeline where the coup against Gorbachev succeeded) and we are trying to be relatively technically accurate but accounting for some alternative procurement unique to the T2K timeline. We are using the T2013 rules set. As the location is the Lower Mainland of British Columbia (adjacent to what Americans call the Pacific Northwest) the main theme of the campaign is restoring civil order and rebuilding the province under the newly established civilian government. The composite team is RCMP-led, backed by CF "civilian contractors" (ex-US and Soviet soldiers) and US Federal Government loyalists. While currently operating in uncontrolled territory (contested by biker gangs and deserters) the team is not really out of command or isolated.

Speaking of Fury, we already had a tank duel between a T-54 and a AVGP Cougar. The Cougar is a strange wheeled "training tank" (imagine a smaller LAV-25 that is 6x6, mounting a Scorpion turret armed with a 76mm gun). The Coug' got in a couple hits with 76mm HESH which damaged the T-54 but the kill shot was in the flank from the Carl Gustav team. Right now the team is driving the Cougar, a Humvee, an Iltis "jeep" and soon to be joined by a SAM-8 Gecko TEL.

If interested, pre-gens are available. I can help with a new PC if necessary.

In reply to Darkside Trooper (msg # 10):

Good system for PC combat, the vehicle rules need work as the conversion from the older versions was botched.

To clarify for Luke's post, is he searching where the MaxxPro (Jesus, that sounds like the name of an energy drink!) of the cargo truck? They are 200m apart, there may not even be vehicles to search over there. I would guess he means he's searching where the group is currently located.

Re: OOC 2 (Questions? Complaints? Ideas?)

Sorry, things kind of ended up blowing up on my end. Had a vacation coming so as one of the few capable people at work that meant a load of stuff needed to get done before then.

Fast forward to today, I'm at my folks for the holidays and off from work until January 2nd, so I should be able to start catching up tomorrow.

Merry Xmas all, and sorry for the silence!

Re: OOC 2 (Questions? Complaints? Ideas?)

I know I mentioned it before, but here it is again...

I'm trying to fill a few open slots in my Robotech game:
link to another game

Specifically I'm looking for two 1st level Destroid pilots to fly/drive this, the MBR-10A1 Valiant:
The MBR-10 Valiant was designed to give the UEEF the heavy hitting firepower and armor of the original Destroid designs but in a mecha that was more suited for a variety of environments that could be anticipated when operating on extraterrestrial worlds. The Valiant is capable of sustained flight on a planet with gravity similar to that of Earth and operating in space like space fighter. The mecha can survive an atmospheric reentry by slowing it’s decent with the massive engines built into its legs and be fully combat capable upon landing. The most innovative aspect of the Valiant is the replaceable arms which can be switched for a variety of weapon systems and utility devices. In an effort on the part of the UEEF to make maintenance and replacement of parts easier, the sensor head, hands and leg mounted missile launchers are identical between the MBR-10 Valiant and the first generation of Alpha veritech’s.

The first MBR-10 Valiant platoons were first fielded in 2015. They saw action against Zentraedi Malcontents on both Earth and in Space. Two variants was developed, one was the basic –A1 model and has the same sensor head unit found on the VFA-6A Alpha veritech. The second variant was a command variant and has the same sensor head unit as found on the VFA-6B Alpha veritech.
