Meara, that compel is up to you, the player. You can decide how you want the lunch to go. I 100% agree with you that Aunt Val probably notices, but do you want her to mention it or not. That's for you to decide. So let me know.

Gwydion, I feel like that's definitely a conversation that needs to be had. It's gonna be so good.

No Update on BrunWatch. We can certainly pass time with Gwydion and Meara doing their things while we wait for Brun to see our BrunSignal. Given the speed of PbP that should give us some time. Then he can hop in with Brun's portion without ever having missed a beat.

Ultimately though, we need Brun back to continue the campaign proper. I wouldn't move on without either of you if one of you was MIA.

Except an update from me in the IC thread at some point tonight.

I definitely feel like the compel should happen, then.  Especially when Freyr finally shows up.

Gwydion, can you give me a Skulking roll, please and edit it into your post? I want to see how well you are at "infiltration."

Mostly it's to see if you terrify Iliza or not.

Hello all!

Feeling pretty good here.  Switched jobs a month ago within my company.  Won't call it a promotion, but much less stressful and more free-reign authority to accomplish.

When I reread the game, it played in my head like an animated movie by the studio that did the Netflix Castlevania series. There were so many parts where I laughed out loud or just got the chills. I really think it'd make for a hell of a screen play.

Besides, without you, how can I cause a stir at a party hosted by the Queen by having it implied that Brun would be a good match for Meara?  I mean, Irina's still an option for Meara, but I don't think that match will produce an heir and we don't know Irina's preferences...

I mean, politically, Gwydion's the real prize, but Iliza's already got that handled and Meara will in fact throw hands to prevent anything and anyone from getting in the way of that.

To be fair, she'd throw hands if someone genuinely insulted a cat (calling them an asshole as an endearing term is just normal cat owner behavior after all - I speak from experience as a lifetime cat servantowner), so it's not a high bar, but still!

Irina's preferences in the romantic department weren't really ever defined in my notes that I recall. I always had Iliza planned as a potential interest for Gwydion, but never had anyone else nailed down until the L1-4MNT/Freyr thing seemed a natural fit during the ball. Actually, I think Sir Jayson Dennic mentioned being married to a wife as a throw away line and we made reference to her a couple times. That's beside the point though...the point being that the romantic preferences of NPCs have been left open for the most part. So if Meara would be interested in Irina or anyone else as a partner, feel free to pursue it. As far as an heir, they could adopt or do it scientifically. One X chromosome + One X chromosome and boom an heir. You'd just always end up with daughters. I imagine humanity at its height could have done that easily. That is almost certainly some lost tech we could make a point of finding down the road.

Brun has always struck me as more interested in Euryleia than any potential flesh and blood partner, which is something we can explore if that was always the intent.

I've been shipping Brun/Rose the last few days of rereading old threads. Which would be perfect if the court decides to matchmake Brun/Meara and Meara wants to matchmake Meara/Irina. :P

Oh, a question I've been forgetting to ask for seven years: How do you pronounce "Sir L1-4MNT" and "Sir RHY-S32", anyway?

Welp.  As someone who has discovered they are incapable of creating and playing a straight character (trust me, I have tried, and they always end up gay or bi), it's nice to know that option's open.

Still, as seeking a spouse as a noble is very much politics before love, it'll be interesting to see who people try to set Meara up with.

Also, it is very true.  Meara could never replace Euryleia, nor would she want to even try.  She admires that bond.

Besides, can you imagine Meara trying to be romantic?  It would be something like holding a boombox outside someone's window and asking them out on a date.

Why wouldn't it be? There's no bigotry here. Meara is who she is and if she's LGBTQIA+, then she's just LGBTQIA+. Don't feel like you or your character has to be anything other than what you/they are.

Oh, this wasn't a comment on acceptance, it was on my ability to play characters.

I have legit had characters who were, from day one, supposed to be very straight.

They did not stay that way because girls pretty.  At least two of them are married to women.

Wait, no, I do have one straight character!  But she's still a disaster.  I am wholly incapable of playing a character who has their shit together because some things are just too much of a fantasy to imagine happening.

Also that would mean being the voice of reason and who wants to have that responsibility?!

Edit: I'm sure everyone's shocked to find out I'm a disaster IRL.

But based on your OoC posts, I can definitely see you being a bit of a whirlwind/high energy, personality for sure.

Eh, I'm a pretty big introvert, but it's much easier to let myself just be online.  I'm energetic around close friends and in small groups, but anything else and I'm a wallflower.

Also if you saw my house you'd understand what I mean by being a disaster.

Bruh, I feel you with the last one. I have had multiple exes claim they were giving me the signals like crazy, but I was oblivious and they thought I wasn't interested. It's not that I don't notice, I just don't assume women are into me until they are explicit about it. I interpret most flirting as them just being a friendly person. I'm not a person that really plays games when it comes to communicating. I try to be both polite and very direct.

That said, if she asked you for a date, C'mon Meara. Were you just lost in her eyes? What's the poor girl got to do beyond that, undress and make cavewoman noises? =P

I earned that nickname.  It was very well earned and that was not the only incident that happened to make that name a thing.

Then someone else was actually proud they took it from me because they were somehow even worse than I was.  I feel nothing but shame for them.  It is not a title I wore with pride.

But yeah if I'm focused on one thing I will absolutely miss everything else in the world.  Like a conversation with someone just ahead to my left and just ahead to my right as a cute girl changes from her bathing suit to her pajamas under a towel directly in front of me.
