Also, just to keep the timeline right for my own head, Boss.  Were you assuming Brun had already sent a preliminary report prior to the GwyMearMerLN Zoom Meeting?

Well, it took a while to get to conspiracy times. We were busy. <.<

Cool.  I just didn't want to have Brun get there and everyone seemed to know everything, but he hadn't sent anything.  He'd feel quite the useless expedition commander then!

I figured Brun had plenty of time to finish the meeting, return back to the Thames, compile some reports, and spend some quality time with Euryleia before the "Did Brun Do A Bad Or Are We Just Paranoid" meeting started.

I'm also going to laugh so hard if it turns out that no, it isn't actually MerGN-A, and Euryleia achieving sapience complete with a playful personality actually is just a fun coincidence.

To be honest, Meara was talking out of her arse when she mentioned "profits" from the data cache.  It was mostly prestige she was thinking of, with 'profits' being a side effect of increased trade if her mother was able to take advantage of it in time.

She already knew that if Queen Valerie wanted to give it away that there would be nothing her mother could do to stop it, so it was more intended as "here's a heads up, our family is the one to have this knowledge and decide what to do with it should Auntie Val not do it first, alternatively we can assist with our own copy of the data and work on different things since Venus will undoubtedly be able to grow things Avaluna can't and vice versa."

But she didn't have time to send that.

Okay, we can go with that. Instead of Auntie Val being mad, we'll just have Moms furious because she think you're being taken advantage of and trying to bullshit you way out of it!

I've actually had the same accusation from my own mother regarding people I care about and how freely I help them out of my own volition, so I really understand poor Meara here.

Dude, that's my pet peeve in life. People saying "You're too nice". That Shit makes my eyeball twitch. It's just a way for them to say, "I wouldn't do that for someone." but assuming their shitty take is the right one.

Because it's relatable and Meara's mother having to deal with everything remotely and not seeing how Meara's actually doing pretty decently when not under her thumb is a very Parent thing to do when they've managed to actually hold their kids back with their control and expectations.

Meara gets hugs. Gwydion knows how it be.

Also, I wasn't too nice one time and my girlfriend's dad died because of it, so I'm super ready to be taken advantage of rather than not help someone I have the power to. Raised on Spider-Man and all that, and it always feels like his story arcs are such real life things. Fail to use power responsibly and people get hurt.

I enjoy that the only time we've fought a compel in this entire group was the one time Meara was trying to Be Responsible because she didn't want to disappoint Irina or Auntie Val.

Every other opportunity we're all "heck yeah gimme that compel the FATE point's just a bonus"

I'm kinda trying to remember what I was thinking in terms of tweaking and accepting Brun's compel, because I think that was supposed to trigger sometime during this meeting. XD
