Re: 1a: Gwydion vs. Sir Padrig Sturm
[Been researching for two days, and I am not good at appropriate forms of address for Arthurian times. I think it's partially because the title of Baron didn't exist for another few hundred years, so I'm gonna go with the results of my modern-day search. :P]
On Iliza's approach, Gwydion turns from his precious Armour and smiles at the sight of her. She'd been fun to talk with at the banquet, though he's having trouble remembering whether he'd been enjoying the company or that the opportunity to serve his king involved chatting up a pretty girl. Either way, it is a pleasure to see her, and he takes the favor with a bow.
"Of course, Miss Iliza. I'll be sure to return with it victorious."
Gwydion's own crest, a red sword on a white field, is displayed on his shield and identifies him to those watching on the station. As the countdown timer closes down, a cocky smirk crosses the young knight's face. He doesn't plan on losing. He's honed tactics from battle with the Emergent themselves, and isn't afraid to show off a little.
The HUD feeds all kinds of data into the cockpit, but most relevant to Gwydion right now are the readings he's about to get during his opening moves. The instant the timer hits zero, Gwydion swings his energized sword at Sir Sturm, releasing a superheated beam from across the battlefield! With the blade's beam surging for its target, Gwydion himself began a high-powered charge behind it, using the attack to mask his own approach.
[23:25, Today: Gwydion rolled 0 using 4 Fudge dice with rolls of -1, 0, 0, 1. +2 Mark for Initiative.
My +2 beats his 0, so that puts me up front.
For my first action, I'll be using Melee to Create an Advantage, The Best Defense, in an attempt to keep the Thunderbolt on his toes.
23:51, Today: Gwydion rolled 1 using 4 Fudge dice with rolls of -1, 0, 1, 1. +3 Melee.
So that's a +4 result. In addition, I plan on moving directly into his Zone. And that'll be it for my turn, once that gets resolved.]
