The Intersection of Green and 42nd Street.
You get a good look at the accident as you aaproach. There are at least seven cars involved. You aren't the only ambulance on the scene.

Xavier charged in to work immediately, heedless of any fire or broken glass or shredded metal.  (It wasn't going to hurt him, after all-- not really.)

You're able to pull a few people alive from the wreck, but more often than not, they're dead.

"Oh god, this is a nightmare," Sarah said to you quietly.

"What the hell happened here?" asked Xavier, still hard at work.  "No, no, you're all right, honey.  Just look at me.  Don't look around.  Just look at me.  Poor kid..."

"I heard some cops talking and they said that a lot of the cars just kept accelerating and accelerating and didn't slow down at all, like they were driving themselves," Jason said.

"Ah, damnit," said Xavier.  He looked over the cars in passing.  Was there anything he could tell-- all the same kind, or suspicious technology in the wreckage, or...?

(OOC: I'll need a perception check or some kind of mechanics one if you hate that.)

You can spot a small grey box attatched to the undercarriage of the overturned cars.

"What is it?" a cop asked.

"I'm not sure, but it's not in the owner's manual," said Xavier.  "It might be why all these cars crashed."

"Good," said Xavier.  "No mistake-- this was no accident."

He hurried over to the rest of his squad to pass that news on, as well.

"Crazy stuff coming to the surface," said Xavier.  "...Back home, before I moved out here, same thing happened, kinda.  There was stuff bubbling under the city for years, where nobody saw it, getting worse and worse... and then, one day, one thing pushes it over the top, and BAM! Monsters, walking tanks, you name it."

"Yeah, well, it is," agreed Xavier.  "Just, you know, it's always been there, right where you don't notice it."

"Yeah," said Xavier.  "I wish that we could do more, but we just can't be everywhere at once."
