Europa Boulevard
You find yourself on a couple block section near a shopping mall that's closed to cars. It boosts many open air cafes, restaurants and even a farmers' market.

Re: Europa Boulevard
The farmer's market might have something nice, and wasn't the sort of thing he normally went to.  He walked over to it.

Re: Europa Boulevard
You notice the usual range of fresh fruits and veggies, grass fed meats, handicrafts and homemade foods.

Xavier wandered around, looking at the handicrafts.  Perhaps he could buy something for his teammates...

Mostly bits and baubles, but you do notice a few very old books off to the side of the table.

Re: Europa Boulevard
One of them appeared to be a personal diary, A very old one. From the dates inside, you can tell it's about two hundred and fifty years old. Another appears to be written in another language. Latin, maybe?

The young man thought for a moment.

"A couple of library sales out east, I think."

Re: Europa Boulevard
"Cool," said Xavier, and he bought them, as well as a cloth bag that he bought at another table to store them while he continued to look around.  Surely someone here had homemade cookies...

He picked a dozen up, as well as a bottle of organic lemonade, and sat down on a nearby bench to look over the books and drink lemonade.

Re: Europa Boulevard
The diary, it seems, was written by a self proclaimed "witch hunter" who claims to have executed dozens over the years. It's all written in graphic detail. Plus something seems wrong here. The diary starts in 1755 and the last entry in it is in 1880.

"Oookay, then," said Xavier.  The other book was in Latin, but he used his smartphone to look up the title, at least, and get some idea of what it was about.

The title seemed to translate to something like "Book of Shadows".

"Okay, that's ominous enough," said Xavier, and he sent Spell Slinger an email, summarizing what he'd found.
