Æthercoil Introductions

Saint Omer
It didn’t take the mugger long to realize his mistake. But by then, it was already too late.

At first, all he knew is that here is this hot-looking red-haired woman looking a bit too confident walking the streets at night for her own good, wearing a short-skirted purple dress with a pointed hat and thigh-length striped stockings ending in pointed boots. With a pretty face framed by the long locks and pointed ears to boot. Maybe some new prostitute or some wide-eyed novice adventurer just asking for someone to teach them the facts of life. The hard way.

When he grabbed her shoulder with a “Your Money or Your Life” line, however, she transformed as she slowly turned her head. Where there was once a clear-skinned woman was now an old hag-like creature with green glowing eyes. “Yeeeeeeessssss?” she half-said, half-crackled under the beak nose with the requisite wart, showing blackened teeth that clicked with malice.

That was when the bangle got on his wrist.

And as the would-be robber’s skin turned to alabaster white and all senses and life faded from the soon to be marble statue standing in an ally, the witch’s face returned to its true youthful form. Her mouth still showed spite for the fool, however, as she lifted her hand as if she’s holding a phone.

Something out of the ordinary to anyone in this world, but not to her.

“Now then,” Jamie said, “Where was I? Oh, no, just another idiot mugger thinking I’m an easy mark. Honestly! You can’t have a private conversation with your patrons anymore! Yes, yes, I know the spell will break once that bracelet is removed, but he’ll think twice before bothering me again.”

She stopped by one alleyway, held up a finger to someone asking about her, and continued speaking to what could be nobody at all. “I heard that Parnast is a decent place for me to set up shop, and it’s close enough to several locations where I can continue my study, I’m sure to be in the Calais Triangle for a while. Yes, yes, I know I’m going to be the representative of the Black Forest Coven while I’m there; I will be on my best behavior.” She rolled her eyes when she said that. “I love you too Mama, Blessed Be.”

She pretended to hang up the phone and looked around. Whoever wanted to talk to her has run off, while others wanted to catch a glance at the strange woman just turned their heads, as if not wanting to notice her.

Jamie chuckled. She knew she’d attract attention. She’s a Ginger Eladrin, pretty much filled out, and a Witch to boot. A practical attention magnet.

At least the combination ensures that people coming to her keep a cordial, if not guarded, reception. Like herself, she doesn’t want to cause any more trouble than necessary. All she wants is to get some supplies, have her horse, Nero, rested up, and find the directions of the last leg of her journey.

Parnast is just a dozen miles to the West. Nothing a well-rested draft horse can’t reach within the next day. She thought about sleeping in the wagon—she did it several times already—but the inn she found by the stable had a good enough rate and a bubble bath. Bonus! By tomorrow she’ll set up her sanctum in that sleepy little hamlet and go on to her Grand Quest.

The Grand Quest is twofold: One, get to the truth to what happened in the exact instance the fall began— “When the Cubs ascended in the World Series.” She knows what happened, but she doesn’t have proof—that caused the Dark Age—her home world—to fall so far so fast. The second is much more important: She remembers coming from that world to this one. Did she travel through dimensions…or travel through time?

Those are answers that she’ll find come hell or high water!

Æthercoil Introductions

Sometime in the after noon at steel anvil tavern

Lilian the the female rabbitfolk tavern maid with her golden hair and white fur and simple revealing dress served some patrons their meals and drinks. Somehow able to just glide through the crowd with ease.
However what noone ever seemed to notice was her free hand after setting things down.
She would flirt with them to draw their attention as that hand slipped down to their
belt and carefully yet silently remove their money pouch. She would giggle and blush hiding the pouch under the tray as she returned to bar itself hiding the bag of stolen gold coins amongst her belongings.
Everyone knew Lily and loved her though for now it was the end of her shift as she took up her things and called to the bar keep that she would see him in the morning. She headed up the stairs to her room and locked the door behind her as she entered. "Another day another few coin purses. Better put this away but first I think I should change. " She tossed her bags onto the bed before walking over to the mirror that lay against the wall next to the floor.

She casually reached up removing her simple silver necklace and set it down on a small table nearby. In her reflection one could now see a seam around her neck to which she reached up and picked at it till her face started pull out and up finally giving way with a snap to reveal the sweaty face of a red and purple male rabbit folks face. He chuckled and kissed 'Lily' on the lips before going about removing the matching suit and then tucked them away into the bag of Lily's things while digging out from under the mattress some dark clothing and leathers followed by his tattered black cloak and dressing in them. Tucking Lily's things into a hiding spot in the floor boards under the bed and covering it up he took out a large pouch and put the last money pouch he had stolen into it and then attached it to his belt before opening the window and jumping onto the ledge. "Time to go make another payment. Wouldn't want to end up missing." the rabbit folk said as he leaped up grabbing the hanging out roof and pulled himself up and ran off into the setting sun towards the market place.

Meiou's quest:  To travel the world and find the hidden treasures in each corner. To find his mentor as well as find that next great clue as to who he is. As he remembers nothing before his mentor brought him into the thieves life.

(sorry if its too big XD was having fun with this )

Æthercoil Introductions

A common enough sight, and a common enough circumstances.  A down on their luck half-orc considering taking up a more violence filled lifestyle, after so called honest work didn't turn out.

Mining wasn't so much the problem, and neither was getting paid probably less than he deserved.  No, in the end the problem was the owners of nonspecific backstory mine being cheapskates on equipment and workplace safety concerns.

Like not enough helmets to go around.  Half the lanterns going unlit.  Pickaxe handles too worn out to handle being used... and a sneaking suspicion that 'Potion of healing' was just juice left out too long, rather than actual medical aid.

So there Tark sat, packing away the last of his camp gear.  Considering his options along with the pittance in coin he was handed along with the news he was fired for breaking the tip off of someone else's already broken pickaxe with his thick skull.

Become and adventurer.  You are allowed to spend your money that way, unlike a bandit.  He's got a head injury, not brain damage.  It would be much safer than becoming a lumberjack like his father had been.  Because then there would be several armed people with him in the event of a bear attack.

And so, onwards.  Into scene transitions and undetermined spans of time.

Æthercoil Introductions

Pyrus

A travel worn adventurer rides towards the Inn, a captured tiefling tied to the back of his soot black horse. The human adventurer's blonde hair frames his deeply tanned face that betrays his youth. Probably no older than 17. He dismounts, ties the reigns to the post next to the watering trough, and carries his prisoner inside like a sack of potatoes. "A pitcher of water please," the young man asks politely, "And I'll be needing a sponge for the half devil too. My name is Pyrus. This fiend is wanted for murder. He will be turned over to the authorities soon as our thirst is slated."

(Don't yet have Pyrus on my cast) GM Edit: Fixed. :)

Æthercoil Introductions

Indeed the group as mentioned is a sight to see, one way or another. Magic-users, pretty bunny maidens, Half-Orcs, and people who bring devils bound up into town tend to get side-glances or averted eyes. But there is one more oddball to add to the motley crew...

Earlier, the girl had dazzled the Librarian in town by climbing the ladder with surprising skill... why is this a big deal? Because Zerry is a centaur!

The blond centaur had been here since yesterday and has already made a sensation of herself. That said, loud galloping can be heard upstairs at the Inn, only for it to descend the stairs into the eating area. The centaur made her way swiftly to a table, grabs a fork and knife, and with a wide-open mouth says, "I'm hungry! Food please!"

The galloping was easily heard by Pyrus outside, and Meiou when Zerry passes his room. The centaur arriving in the eatery can easily be seen by Jamie and Tark, who are in the same room by now.

The centaur notices the half-orc and the witch, and gives them a curious expression, then gallops over towards the nearest one! "Hi! I'm Zerry! What's your name?!"

(Up to Jamie and Tark to figure out who was closer and/or if they decide to just head over to the other in order to begin meeting each other)

Oh good, a herd of homicidal Elk hadn't made it's way indoors as Tark had first suspected.  So everything will be fine-oh no! Social interaction!

The half-orc with the sensible haircut looks up from his meal, having chosen an out in the open table rather than mysteriously secluded corner.

"Hello Zerry, I'm Tark.  It's nice to meet you."  Oh Gods, he probably botched that first impression horribly.  What kind of adventurer will you come across as if you're polite, Tark?

In reply to Zerry (msg # 5):

Jamie blinked a bit as she heard the gallop on wood coming up at her, just as she was about to dig into that strawberry shortcake.

She looked up at the youthful centaur and her eyes lit up by the cuteness and agility of the girl.  "Oh, you're so cuuuute.  Merry Meet, Zerry, I'm Jamie Wintertouch.  What brings you over to this humble village."  Zerry could see a warm smile in the elvish red-head's freckled face.

Note:  I doubt Zerry, or anyone else in this room, would've ever heard of a Ginger Elf, let along see one.

Pyrus is happy that he's not the most attention-getting person here.  He smiles at the outgoing centaur, but assumes he wasn't the one being asked, so he does not give an answer.

When water is served, he takes a drink.  Then he wets the sponge and stuffs it in the gagged mouth of his prisoner so the tiefling can take a drink while still unable to utter any spells.

Zerry smiles brightly. "Thank you for the compliment, Jamiewintertouch! You have a neat name!" She looks at Tark. "Hello Tark! I'm so glad you think me nice to meet!" It's not that she is shouting with every sentence, just that she carries a certain enthusiasm with every sentence. A lively one, that centaur.

She looks back at Jamie, "I'm in this village because I'm lost. I was running and running and the next thing I knew, several days came and went! I lost track of time and where I went! Sooooo... I'm here, but I don't know where here is to there or where there is to here."

Zerry flags down Pyrus. "Hey you with the pretty hair and nifty skin! C'mere!" she quickly looks back at Jamie. "Which reminds me! I like your hair too! Its so red, it reminds me of when there is fire in the sky!"

Æthercoil Introductions

Tark has seen some 'redhead' elves of assorted subspecies in the past, but that was in less reputable areas of cities.  While Jamie is dressed far more respectably (and covered) for it to just be a dye job.

That said, Tark didn't think it was polite to point and stare.  Which is also why he's not going bug eyed at Pyrus's situation, like someone who was not a hardened adventurer (which he totally was, honest) would-

Wait, Zerry IS pointing and staring. Should he then?... Nah, it would probably be less endearing from a half-orc to compliment someone's skin.  So he just nods, and says "Hello, Jamie.  I'm glad to see so many pleasant people around here."

He turns to Zerry, and asks "Well, why wouldn't people think it's nice to meet you Zerry?"  Maybe people who have to clean hoof prints indoors?  He rummages through his pack, commenting "Well, I have no idea where you came from.  But we could at least point out where you are now on a map."

Having finally reached the ground level behind the inn he dusted himself off.
Now finally ready to goto the market that was until his stomach growled.
This made him realize he'd spent so much time stealing and serving he hadn't
taken the time to actually eat. He just hoped the cook didn't change the special of the day to rabbit stew again now that lily was gone. He made his way around front and headed into the building proper.

He looked around and hope he didn't smell too much like Lily's perfume as he ordered the special and some mead while he waited.

Æthercoil Introductions

Jamie just smiles and chuckles a bemused giggle as she watches a rather energetic centaur go back and forth like someone who took a bit more than their recommended daily allowance of caffeine.  "Why, you're in Saint Omer, my dear," she said in a melodic voice.  "Just a bit away from a village called Parnast, which I'm ultimately headed.  You'd probably like it there, pretty.  Nice open spaces for you to..."

Her eyes glance over to see Meiou appear.  Her eyes narrowed, but she still smiled.  Resembling a cat who found her prey, she lowered her head and tapped her nose with a finger. "You have to excuse me, I found someone I wanted to meet."

'Never expected to find him so soon,' Jamie whispered to herself as she pulled out a slip of paper from a belt pouch and, using Mage Hand, carried it over into Meiou's pouch as he was about to pay for his dinner.

"Meiou, there is a woman who would want to talk to you about the debts you incurred.  Meet her in a wagon with witch's insignia in the stables.  Pippkin Ducaine."

Pyrus smiled and nodded from the invitation.  He carries his prisoner with him and ties him to a chair before taking a seat himself.

"Thanks for the compliments and invitation, Zerry.  I'm Pyrus.  This is Ozshoon Hatred the Babykiller."

The tiefling looks quite annoyed at being introduced.

"Sorry to hear about your misfortune.  Good to see you have someone who looks eager to be helpful."

Half orcs may not have stellar reputations in general, but "mislead centaur children for the lulz" isn't a common thing from what he's heard of them.  And the guy looks extremely chill for a half-orc.

Zerry respects Jamie's request to be excused and turns her attention to Tark to answer his question. "Some people think it is so-so to meet someone. Others think it is bad to meet someone. I've met a few here in town who didn't like me just for living."

She turns to look at Pyrus. "Why is Ozshoon gagged? And why is he called babykiller?"

Just because she is no longer talking with Jamie doesn't mean Zerry isn't paying attention / distracted by Jamie's actions and the fact a bunny just walked into the place.

....it does seem the tavern has not gone immediately back to serving rabbit stew.

Clearly, the prisoner was called such because of their resemblance to Ozshoon Loathing the Puppy Kicker.

"Hope you have a nice talk" Tark comments to Jamie while still rummaging through their mundane objects, finally bringing out a map tube.  Because Tark had learned the hard way just cramming lose notes and maps into storage isn't very good for them.

He spreads the map on the cleanest... er, most available part of the table.  "Okay, North is that way" He points perfectly towards North without looking  "This is Saint Omer.  Over there is Parnast... and I have no idea where you used to live, but if you remember what direction you entered this town from, you'll at least have a good idea which way to run back.  Which might not even be on this map, it wasn't very expensive."  Good thing too, with how many notes and scribblings Tark has added to fill in where he had been that wasn't on it.

To Meiou:

At the bottom of the note, Meiou sees a note written in a more flowery script:  "Tomorrow Morning, hon.  I'm spending the night in an inn."  It also had a spray of perfume on it as well.

To Zerry:

'Ah, such a polite girl, even if she is a bit hyper,' Jamie mused to herself, but there was a glint of steel in her eyes when she heard of 'Ozshoon the Baby Killer.'  She hoped that she didn't have to interrupt her dessert by slinging spells with this loser.

He looks impressed with Tark's map.  "Wow.  What you have there could be quite valuable to the right buyer.  Or to you if you were to take up cartography as a profession."

He takes out his own map of the region.  Far less detailed.  And covered in Xs to mark off the places he did not find his quarry.

The rabbit pocketed the note an sighed. He swore he had one unlucky foot and one lucky from the way his luck swayed. maybe he had been cursed? he'd have to ask someone to look into it sometime. For now he paid for his meal and drink taking them to go sit at a table. It was nice to see it was still beef stew being served.

He just hoped noone started making jokes about a rabbit folk eating meat. Not every town has as easy access to veggies as some so he just went along with it instead of trying to carry his own specialized food or something.

Re: Æthercoil Introductions

Fun fact! Rabbits sometimes eat their own babies. So rabbits eating meat isn't unheard of...

Zerry looks at the maps and ooooos. "....I have no idea!" she says almost as though proud of her ignorance. Almost. "I have never seen a map before, but it looks nifty! I'll bet it is useful to you, but I have no idea what those drawings mean!"

You take for granted that reading a map is a skill. And even some people who are trained in reading maps can get confused. The centaur, having never seen one, is not only confused, but doesn't even understand the concept.

Zerry looks at Pyrus. "....babies? What a meanie."

Zerry looks over towards the rabbit then back to Jamie. She wants so badly to ask questions, but the map is, for the moment, keeping her occupied.

Well, Tark tried.  Not very hard to be fair, but he tried.  The things one takes for granted when you have Automap as a personal feature.

"Thank you, Pyrus.  Though I figure I'd just be given spare change for my scribbling over old maps.  Then at best there are maps that already show what I filled in, and at worst they just sell new ones with what I drew"

Back to Zerry, he comments "Well, since it's a drawing it's hardly perfect.  But it's supposed to give you a rough idea of where things are in relation to eachother.  The tiny town with the words Saint Omer on it means, well, Saint Omer."  He can't really blame her for not remembering what specific direction she approached the town gate from.  Town gates kind of blur together after a while.

Pyrus nods to Tark.  He thinks the guy doesn't give himself enough credit.  A humble half-orc?  Not unheard of, but certainly a gem.

He then smiles at the child and explains.  "A map is a drawing of a place as seen from above.  I'll show you."

He waves his hand over his map and an image of the room as seen from he ceiling appears on it.

"This is a map of this room.  If you were to show this to someone who's never been here, they'd still know about the back door even though they'd never seen it.  Now most map artists don't show this much detail because it would take too long to make copies.  So they replace perfect pictures with symbols.  Like this."

Pyrus waves his hand over it again.  The map becomes a symbolic map.  "These rectangles represent windows.  This symbol represents a door..."

He continues to explain maps of varying scale and how to read them.

Progress!  "It's okay Meiou, I'm getting used to being properly sociable myself."  Tark, you are also at least twice the rabbit's size and have only angered people it is socially acceptable to anger.  So you have less to look over your shoulder over.

He asks Jamie, "Well, what exactly would the working conditions be like?  And how much of that gardening involves stuff that needs particularly safe handling?" You could have taken carpentry as your battle master artisan proficiency, but noooo you took up Masonry because of how much time your character spent dealing with mines.

Pyrus is loving this group.  Such helpful attitudes!  And polite too.  At least by comparison.  But then, his company hasn't been the best of late.  He figures Jamie has enough questions to answer without his adding any.  But he'll be curious to know what sort of sanctum this will be.  Jamie doesn't look like a standard cleric.

"Well, I happen to be a good enough fortune teller," Jamie said as she gave Meiou a coy glance behind her. "My mama's a fortune telling witch, who adopted me into the craft.  While I'm not as good a fortune teller as I am, I do have my own path."

She turned back to the rest of the group.  "Good witch, in case you're asking.  I don't do wicked stuff unless I have to.  Like that statue not too far from here.  One shouldn't be mugging people without finding out what they do."  She gave what sounded like a mix of giggle and crackle.  "If someone's smart enough, they've found out how to reverse it by now, I put the instructions on him."

"It really shouldn't be too difficult, just a small victory like garden and light housekeeping.  After that, I'll be researching on the history of this region and the world around them.  As some of you may guess, some parts of the world's past has been erased, forgotten from memory.  I wish to help those who want to rediscover what happened.  Missing events, missing artifacts..." She gave Meiou that coy smile again.  "...missing people."

Hmm...  Tark starts scribbling some notes for later curiosity.  Why do Elves always get away with twisting trees into unnatural shapes like creepy parasites, when digging through unfeeling rocks always gets all the stories of hubris and disrespecting nature?

The moment he does find a safe spot to change, he finds a wrapped gift set on it, addressed to him. With a card, with a similar scent of perfume as the note he found.  This time, more intense:

"By this time, I believe we met.  I wanted to discuss this in private, but things are getting a bit too chaotic.  I'll cut to the chase then.

I, Jamie Wintertouch of the Black Forest Coven, have officially paid off your debts.  Therefore, you work for me.  You'll be my assistant for the time being, which will involve finding more information about what happened in the past, including finding your old mentor, Pippkin Ducaine.

I assure you that, by bosses go, I'll be much kinder then what you expect.  In fact, since I know you like costumes, I thought I'd give you one.  Although I have to let you know, it's special.

Oh sure, you can dump this box and scatter your little bunny butt away, cotton tail for all to see, but I'm not without my ways, I can track you down.  In fact, I knew where you're going to hide.  After all, how else would you find this box?  Tee Hee."

Re: Æthercoil Introductions

In reply to meiou (msg # 52):

The moment that Meiou snapped Sarah in place, he heard an audible snap, and he felt some thoughts enter his head.  He heard the witch--Jamie's--voice giggling in the back of his head.  Also, it seems that the costume had a life of its own, her smile widening and a sense of joy overflowing the rabbit wearing it. A sense of being thrilled to be alive.

"Oooooh, happy day," he heard the witch's say from inside her head, as Sarah bounced a little on her feet.  "I thought you'd never put her on.  I'm so glad that you decided to do so, Sarah.  I could really use a familiar who knows these parts.  Oh, and I wanted this to be a bit of a trial so I don't think I'll let you use that bracelet for the evening."

Before Meiou would ever think about it, Sarah had removed the bracelet and put it into a pouch in her skirt.

"Yes, Sarah is an enchanted costume with a bit of a personality, it's supposed to combine with yours as long as you're wearing her; a familiar costume, you might say.  In time, once you get adjusted, you can control her better than you can now.  But before then, I need you to take all of Meiou's things and send them to my room.  After all, he's supposed to work for me now, right?"

With that, it was Sarah's turn to give a bit of a chuckle.

OOC:  Meiou and I talked this out, and I decided on a plot device that Jamie had help enchanting back in the Black Forest:  A special costume that turns its wearer into her squirrel familiar.  In this costume, Jamie can use Sarah's eyes and ears and can cast spells through her.  After this evening, Jamie will let Meiou slip the Requip bracelet back on so he can change back.

Mechanically, Meiou might need to take levels in Arch Witch Warlock.

Since he's having trouble getting into the RP, Jamie thought about forcing the issue on the annoying little rabbit.

Re: Æthercoil Introductions

Okay Tark let's review.  He scribbles idly in a notebook to collect his thoughts about this sequence of events, and wanders back upstairs to double check his suspicions of just what room all that stuff came from.

He wanders back downstairs, and considers the pile of Not Jamie's Stuff gathering around said witch.

Now, the SMART thing would be to just ignore it, considering Jamie is the attractive lady and he's the half-orc nobody will care suddenly turns into a chicken in front of witnesses.

But having a mostly functioning conscience is highly inconvenient at times. So when someone you were just talking to ran in barely concealed panic (If from Zerry), only for said witch to be so prepared to steal his stuff at a moment notice, she hired a maid... Yeah.

So he asks the Squirrel "Excuse me, why are you taking stuff from someone else's room and giving it to Jamie?"

OCC: Tark's incredibly detailed notes.
Frowny and sad bunny heads alongside smiling and smug centaur and witch heads.
A bunch of question marks around a squirrel head with a loot bag.

"Oh, 'Alexandar'."
Jamie said to Zerry.  "I just acquired his services because of some debts I paid off.  I'm having him move with me.  That squirrel you saw is Sarah, my familiar."

She then gets up from her bench.  "I have to go catch up with her then.  The poor girl gets worried sick about me.  I have a wagon in the stable near here.  If you want to help me out, you can meet me there in the morning. Blessed be, Zerry." She then leaves for her room.

Re: Æthercoil Introductions

Okay, so apparently 'Alexander' was named Meiou Alexander.  "So.  Alexander, the rabbit who loudly declared he wanted nothing to do with working for your Mistress to the point of running away-"

Speaking of running away from questioning as fast as possible, that's what he finds Jamie suddenly doing...  For someone who initially came off as sociable, it's turning out that the witch is more like a lot of idle rich he has done odd jobs for in the past.

So Tark hates himself for wondering less what really happened to Meiou for the moment... And instead just how much the Witch is paying the rabbit (probably nothing, so better to wonder how much she might pay himself, instead).

He looks over to Zerry, and says "Zerry.  Jamie might be offering a lucrative job.  But, don't take any payment but money from her, and don't put on any gifts she might offer except in a public place with witnesses... And if she's building a house out of cookies, we really need to leave immediately."

EDIT: OOC: Oh no, David used the name of his longtime friends character he's used to saying and typing 24/7? How could this happen!?
Yeah it's perfectly understandable.
I just assumed the Meiou usage was Jaime instinctively using that name because it's more bragging to use his real name, instead of admitting Meiou is clever by sticking with the rabbit's idea.

Pyrus followed Zerry.  Though not as fast as the excitable centaur, he's able to enter the inn immediately after her through the magic of Droopy the Dog style scene transitions or whatever.  So he was able to catch enough of what was said to prevent him from being clueless about what's going on.  But even without Tark pointing out the crazypants obvious transparency going on, Pyrus could put two and two together.

He chuckles at Tark's comment.  "Sound advice.  I really appreciate how helpful you are to the generous lost girl."

To Zerry he says, "While I don't find myself inclined to be quite so quick to offer random strangers help with their... stuff...  I do happen to be headed in the same direction she mentioned.  And I imagine it would be slightly safer to travel as a group.  So if you happen to choose to travel with the witch, her familiar, and maybe the bunny that didn't get away, I'm hoping to be able to enjoy some more of your sunny disposition with them."

Meanwhile, Jamie reached into a large luggage on wheels and pulled out a Bad of Holding, perfect to put in Meiou's effects that Sarah gathered.

Also, being this close to Sarah's Mistress, Meiou could feel the connection between Witch and Warlock flow into him, it felt strange, unfamiliar, and yet, it felt like someone's slipping into him and putting him on, as if the Witch can sense his every thought, word, and deed, even more than the squirrel.

'If you ever want to feel the cool air on your fur rabbit, you better play along,' he heard Jamie say, a tinge of authority in her otherwise sweet and mischievous voice.

Or actually, he heard it coming out of his own throat and out Sarah's own mouth.

Her eyes narrowed again.  "Besides, you might learn some other skills to add to your rougery.  I could teach you magic, if you're good.  A little arcane skills with your thievery, just like your old mentor, I can help you find him along the way.  I found the rabbit gentleman thief before.  Tracked him, caught him...*" Her whole face was like a cat playing with a mouse as she's remembering this.  "Good times, I must tell you, and I needed to let the bad girl in me out on occasions.  Keeps me from running afoul with the Three-fold law.  But then again the cretin did attempt to steal a grimoire of mine.  Point is, I got a hold of Pippkin Ducaine, and if you wish, I can find him again."

She then narrowed her eyes again, "But if course, I could just make you disappear for real, and you will be Sarah for the rest of yoru life."  She then popped a smile and shrugged.  "Your choice of course.  I paid a lot of money for your debt and I want to get my coin's worth."  She then looked right into Meiou's eyes, and he could even see the glowing arcane powess in her eyes.

Re: Æthercoil Introductions

"He tried to teach me magic said I didn't have the smarts for it. Look im willing to work with you and everything i just didnt like everyone wanting to talk to me and everything. You say you can find him well we can see about that. I'd say by now he's already found a way to get around that but I cant say for sure. "

"Oh, Pippkin Ducaine can hide very well from the commonfolk, Meiou," Jamie said.  "But not to someone who can see through birds and rodents.  Not to someone like me.  I was able to see him easily.  He's also not as knowledgeable as I am, because, Meiou..." She moved closer, looking right into the rabbit's eyes.  "...I can teach you where your mentor failed.  Sarah is more than just my familiar, Meiou.  She is also my warlock, and you can be the same as well, if you're willing.  Imagine, arcane powers can be yours, you can even become more powerful than that silly white rabbit."

From the glowing eyes of the Eladrin filling his vision, and the energy from Sarah's connection flowing through his body, Meiou can tell that she's telling the truth.

He shivered and squirmed.  He sighs just giving in for now. He wanted to learn though he was just sorta tired of being manipulated like this."Alright fine teach me... "

Jamie leans over as if to kiss Meiou, but then says, "In due time, rabbit."

She then snaps Sarah's head back in place, waking her back up.

"I'm tired, and I need a snuggle buddy for tonight.  I have a bath and suitable pj's for you, Sarah.  Once you clean up, join me."

OOC:  Still keeping things G rating.  Jamie is going to have Susan be a teddy bear to sleep with, nothing more.  Has any of you have a plush toy or a pet in your bed as a child?

"That's why I want you to come to bed with me, sweetie."  Jamie said as she lays down on the bed.  Fluffing a pillow so for her head.  "It's been a long day for you, a long travel, and now you must rest, so you can be a proper familiar."

In reply to meiou (msg # 82):

Jamie takes Sarah into her arms and snuggles the squirrel into her chest.  She hums a tune, soothing the squirrel into a sound sleep and even affecting the rabbit inside to boot.

Mechanics wise--Jamie's humming contains a light charm effect she's doing while she's sleeping, easily resisted by Meiou if he wants to.  Otherwise, it draws him closer to Jamie, making him feel safe, warm, and loved around her.  At the most, it makes him a lot less grouchy around her, while not mind controlled.

A more flavor description of this charm is that Meiou would have feelings of warmth, hearth, and home whenever he's around Jamie, as if she has become a safe refuge whenever he's near her.  It's the same variant of 'Calm Emotions' that Jamie's mother, Silverskin, put on Jamie herself when she met.

Both would then run with that emotions and prompt the recipient into accepting them as their patron/mistress/Auntie/Grandma/Mother/insert your term here.  It's a common practice for witches seeking to teach the craft to the next generation.
