Re: Æthercoil Parnast

While Darcy helps Igatho bat away any dust from a giant plushie, Jamie uses prestidigitation to de-dust a board game.  "Hmm, looks like it's part of what I'd call 'a Tourist Trap.'  Nothing that would be dangerous to anyone in Parnast, though."

Later on, when she found an electronic game, she noticed that those stocking the place had enough sense to store the batteries elsewhere.  She checked the expiration date of one who hadn't corroded yet: 18 DEC 2017.  "Yep, this predates the fall of the Lost Age.  Doubt these things would have any charge left.  Definitely, take some to Justin. He knows more about electricity than any of you."

he squirms and blehs at all the kissing before noticing jamie
I usually just connected some copper strips to a potato and then to the right spots in the game. Never need those energy cells or whatever. Found this neat trick in a book about making an alarm clock out of a potato once and thats where i got the idea. there was something else about a light brick? i dunno i couldnt make out the words and the rest of the pages were already ripped from the book.

"Well that's hardly surprising Jamie.  Unlike Justin, most people can't afford to use their copper for wiring instead of coin."

He glances around the old displays, and asks "But that just brings back my last point.  We're in the cave a bunch of cursed people supposedly came from that made Pan break down just for existing.  With at least one guy trying to hijack Igatho's mind.  But now things are so seemingly safe that Jamie is casually suggesting we loot the place and hand out it's contents to town.  What's going on here."

Re: Æthercoil Parnast

Your face predates the fall of the Lost Age.  Would normally be a harmless jab, but considering how sensitive Jamie was about her age earlier, Nathan thinks better of joking about it.  He instead just idly plays around with a tourist trap yo-yo.

"That sounds fun, Meiou.  Maybe you can teach me and Igatho."

Nathan smiles at Tark and teases, "Silly Tark.  This is the top floor.  So of course things will be fine up here.  It's when we go deeper that things will get properly grim again."

Also, he didn't see any of those guys wearing a "Science is Cool" T-shirt.  That woulda stood out even among them.  Between that and undisturbed dust, it's pretty safe to say this room wasn't where they went to be driven mad.  On that thought, Nathan peels the dusty top shirt off the pile and looks through the rest for one he likes.

Re: Æthercoil Parnast

Nathan is able to find various cool shirts. Igatho is like a kid in a toy store and doesn't seem to be able to settle on any one thing for a while. But if assured this place and its things are not going anywhere and that there are still individuals who need smashing, she follows the group again.

Either way, the group doesn't find much in the way of useful items aside from maybe a "Science is FUN!" book for kids to do science experiments much like the one Meiou mentioned.

If the group decides to descend, they find the level they were originally on is Level 1. So to go further down means B1, 2, or 3.

B1 (or Basement 1) reveals another hallway. But a quick search shows it is just a store room of various tools, some backup of the stuff that was in the gift shop, and a refrigerator that has a lot of test tubes in it.

B2 and B3, however, refuse to work. (There is a keyhole next to B2)

Meiou squirms his way out of igatho's cuddling and hops down.
He heads over to what jamie pointed out invetigates while he
summons his lockpicks from within his bracelet. given some
time and effort he would attempt picking the.

(i would assume its up to GM on if it works)

Re: Æthercoil Parnast

Tark leaves one of those penny smashing machines alone because not even an impressive layer of dust can hide the fact it takes coinage of a size not currently on hand.

He does loot a Slinky Jr though.

"If it needs a keyhole, I expect you'll be able to handle it Meiou."  Now, slots expecting color coded skulls? Those take a while.

OOC: Unlike it's elder relatives that will tangle itself just by simply looking away from them and back again, I have found a slinky Jr can survive YEARS.

Nathan is now wearing a science tank top.  ( https://img0.etsystatic.com/15....1205443634_i21k.jpg )  The T-shirts he liked will need a little modification to accommodate his wings.

Igatho decided to wear a hoodie as a mini cape, using its sleeves to tie it around her neck. https://cdn.shopify.com/s/file...024.jpg?v=1507784243

Meiou is able to pick the lock. Seems they didn't make it complicated, despite all the other mind-boggling advancements.

When the group arrives at B2, the group finds the following room (though with the blood looking a lot less fresh):

Darcy thought it was kinda cute.  "Remind me to ask a weaver to make a hoodie your size, so you can wear it like nor--"

If the group was gasping over what they saw when the door opened to B2, both Darcy and Jamie would join in.

"I got the sneaky suspicion that we're getting closer to the source of that curse," Jamie said.  "We should be cautious."

Meiou rolled his eyes at Jamies opinion "what gave it away? the blood or the weird room?" One would normally expect the rabbitfolk to be bothered by this but for some unknown reason he wasnt.

Tark is somewhat concerned, but old habits die hard as he finds himself disappointed in whoever installed an insufficiently monster proof window in a the lab.

"So, Jamie.  Would it be too much to hope you have a conveniently in depth knowledge of exactly what purpose this lab had, outside of 'science, I guess'"

Nathan gasps as well upon seeing the troubling sight.  So much spilled paint!  Wait.  Is that blood?!  Nathan puts on a grim face, draws his weapon, and steps forward cautiously.

Re: Æthercoil Parnast

Igatho claps at the idea Darcy was conveying about making a bigger hoodie just for her. Then Darcy is interrupted with the sight of the room and Igatho stares for a moment in awe and wonder (if particularly drawn to the white noise of the monitors).

She then turns her attention to Meiou, unable to really grasp what sarcasm is just yet and says proudly, "The blood! Blood is a good sign you are getting close to someone or something dangerous!"

To Tark's comment, she answers helpfully! "This lab was for killing people!"

A faint breathy moan can be heard coming from the doorway on the other side of the room. The moan fades as quickly as it came.

Jamie was ready with her own remark.  "Obvious Frost Giant Child is Obvi--forget what I said, who was that?"

He couldn't help but chuckle at Igatho's comment. Yes he had been sarcastic
but was nonetheless amusing hearing her answer. He raised an ear at the moan trying to pinpoint it with his better than normal person could hearing.

Re: Æthercoil Parnast

Tark sees Igatho is a highly accurate baby once again, now if only she got the chance to be so for things that didn't involve unpleasant subject matter... Well okay, she's a passable dancer.

Tatk quietly comments, so as not to bother Meiou's listening "So, this is where you chuck a fireball or something through the door right Jamie?... Wait, no. That means it would be a surviving victim rather than a terrible monster."

Nathan steps forward, weapon at the ready.

"Hello.  My name is Nathan.  I'm here with my friends to set right any wrongs.  Please introduce yourself."

He continues to walk toward where the sound came from, not really expecting an answer.

Re: Æthercoil Parnast

Nathan is correct. No answers come. But when he gets to the doorway and investigates, it looks to be another hallway full of doors. At least this time, it is lit. If partially.

Igatho starts heading for a door to open it. "You don't hafta cry! We're not mean! ....unless you're mean to us first!"

Meiou can tell the moan came from the right of the doorway, down the hall a bit and PROBABLY from the left turn at the T-juncture.

"I would much prefer to be in front of you... Well, prefer is a strong word.  But you know how the whole job goes Darcy."  Being mauled my horrible creatures sucks, but it's only Tark's problem if he's half eaten compared to the cleric.

Re: Æthercoil Parnast

Everyone's scrambling to be the first, it seems.  Except Jamie.  Nathan doesn't follow marching order.  He keeps to the ceiling over everyone, just above whomever wins the race for taking point.  Which will probably be Igatho since she's the only one going for one of the doors.

"Let's stick together.  We should probably try every door first even if the sound came from farther on.  Wouldn't do to let the badguys get away because they lured us past them with a ghost sound."

Re: Æthercoil Parnast

Igatho's peeking in the one door wields nothing, really. Another empty room with dry blood. But she hears Darcy's request and says, "Follow the leader!" Then rushes to be RIGHT behind Darcy and bends down so her head is hiding behind Darcy's back with Igatho gently placing her hands on Darcy's lower back and giggling.

Good luck convincing Igatho anything is not a game... until she gets an owie anyway.

Most of the rooms in this hall are like the one Igatho looked in. The occasional computer (one room was lit only by the computer's white-noise monitor). But soon, the group sees what looks like a ghost looking at them from down the hall.
