Angel holds up her hands in a "calm down" posture. "Sounds to me like Meiou and Jamie's relationship is a little more complicated than the rest of us understand it to be."

She looks at Tark. "And just because you say Meiou won't owe you doesn't prevent Meiou from feeling he owes you: that much, I totally get. He mentioned his sense of honor... Tark, at this point in time, it sounds like the best thing you can do for Meiou has already been communicated. You are his friend and if he didn't know it before, he does now."

Hearing Meiou address Johnny about his worship, Angel glances at Meiou with a smirk. Then looks at Johnny. "I told Johnny from the start that we are friends and I am here for him. I believe he truly knows I mean it." then looks back at Meiou. "All the same: Thank you for standing up for me, Meiou."

Angel then points her bunny ears at Jamie and Meiou, anticipating their answer to Pyrus.

While Johnny just gave a mushy smile at Angel, Jamie had to sit down.  "I have a grandmother named Natasha. A classic hag.  Green Skin, crackling laugh, loves to mess with people the whole nine yards.  Sarah ran afoul of her while she was a full-on squirrel folk and by the time I caught wind of the poor girl and found her myself, Natasha has completely hollowed her core being out, reducing her to a fursuit.  I mean I had to wear her myself a couple times to find out more about her!  Well, after I gave my own grandmother some very cross words, I took in Sarah and made her my personal assistant.  The biggest problem I have right now is finding someone to wear her or at the least put her on.  I know of a doll-maker from Vienna who'd make a perfect body for her, but I don't have enough coin for it.  So I had to make do with other means.  Meiou, dear, why don't you show her off?"

He took a breath and look to Tark "No what your implying is I wont owe anyone Physically. I won't be bound by gold so to speak. Though to me again I would feel in debt to you because of my own sense of honor."

He nodded to Jamie's explanation. "And thats about the most I know from her. I'm just essentially a filling to help her work with Jamie whom she really really likes. "
He mostly just thought to himself about how he was fairly certain Angel could handle
the mouse but also about how the mouse should really tone it down. Always shouting my
queen or lady or something like that is how one gets friends into trouble.
He sighed hearing Jamie ask him to go get Sarah and gave her a pleading look before
resigning to his fate. It wasn't that she was making him go change its that everyone
openly knew and well it is kind of embarrassing for him. He pushed himself up to go to another room to go change.

  ...Okay yes, Pyrus makes a good point about how easy it is to come up with worse things to say.

  "I suppose it would be harder to let go of feeling indebted to people, when that's all anyone you remember knowing talks about half the time."

  Still, as Jamie finally elaborates on Sarah's situation, it does show how well off by comparison Meiou is.  It must have been hard for Jamie to have to stop her own grandmoth-...  Let off with a warning and turn the victim into her servant.  Huh.

  "So, uh... What's keeping your grandmother from just doing this again to someone else in the near future?" He expects the physical mechanics involved with Jamie doing what she just sent Meiou off to do is down to 'eh, magic'.

Pyrus listens intently to what Jamie has to say then furrows his brow in a contemplative expression.

To Meiou he gives a nod.  "Repaying debts of honor is a good thing.  Just so you know, you're more than just 'filling' in my eyes."

He doesn't offer an answer to Tark's question.

To Jamie's "I gave her a stern talking to", Angel gives a puzzled look. "...and along the same lines of what Tark asked, what exactly was involved with a stern talking to?"

Angel gets up to follow Meiou. "If you don't mind... I'd like to at least be within range of you talking with me through a door or something. So that if you suddenly stop talking, I'll know someone is kidnapping you."

Yes, she is serious about not letting Meiou out of her sight. Even thought out how to keep an eye on him while giving him privacy.

JB just muttered in Angel's ear.  "Trust me, Angel, you don't wanna know."

The rabbit didn't object or say anything to deter angel. He merely got to the door and held it open for her. No tricks, no got ya or anything sincerly just holding the door for the
lady rabbit. If she wanted to be nearby he knew he couldn't stop not that he would want to given his own feelings towards her and getting her away from Johnny's over the top crush.

  Tark is glad Angel is following after Meiou, though can't decide if he should feel more surprised or encouraged that the rogue's reaction was not to run faster.

  He will assume Granny is running willy nilly with the curses still, or Jamie simply does not want to admit out loud she actually did anything to her family.

  A 'stern talking to' does not fall under 'you don't want to know', nor have much of a track record putting a stop to crazed witches... Not that he heard that second part, but silence is just as telling.

Pyrus had no expectations that Jamie could have done anything to stop her grandmother's wicked witch ways.  For a dragon, and for magical types, older generally means more dangerous.  Even so much as a stern talking-to would likely get a younger dragon devoured by an older one, so he's impressed with Jamie's courage to do that much.

"I won't hold your unfortunate family history against you, Jamie.  As it is, it's commendable that you do what you can to help others.  Agreeing to help bring justice to a dishonest fighter without first negotiating payment for your part in that caper impressed me.  And I continue to be pleasantly surprised the more I learn.

"Thank you, by the way, for that.  I can see why Sarah really really likes you as Meiou put it."

If he were a tad younger Pyrus might be flying around Jamie's head yipping happily or licking her face, but he's since learned that most people don't react well to such behavior.  So instead he just offers a smile and forms a magical valentine with his hands.

At Meiou's room:

Angel looks surprised by Meiou's gesture. Complete with a silent gasp. She walks into the room with Meiou in a half-daze and Meiou is able to see the bunny's eyes are getting misty while she glances downward at the ground. Her expression is hard to read, but seems like either fear, anxiety or a mix of both.

At the table where the others are:
The waitress comes over and says, "Excuse me... two letters arrived for you. One is addressed to Tark, Meiou and Jamie. And one addressed to Py..rus... did I read that right?"

Regardless of which of the two wins the tug-of-war to open the letter to the Parnastians, it has the following:

I am glad Im 8 (hyooman years)
and I know how to write in common
and giant. Justan and Darsee are
teaching me. Also Naythan is showing
me how to smash a piano. I miss you.
When you come home I will give you a

"Oh, You!" Jamie said as she reached over to scritch Pyrus's head.  "You're far too much of a sweetie. Well, to be honest, I wanted to try out those traps I set up on someone, and that wizard made for a fitting target for my occasional mischief."  She then gave Pyrus an impish grin.  "Besides, being a witch, I have to do some witchy stuff sometime, right?  Nothing like a little mischievous fun to brighten up the day."

She then noticed Meiou opening the door to Angel, with Johnny offering her his elbow on the other side.  JB's expression was that of 'Challenge Accepted' to Meiou's gesture.  Jamie made sure that Angel, Meiou, and Johnny were out of the room, away from anyone else seeing them, before she made her move.  Reaching out through her link with her warlock, she called out to his other self.  "Sarah, dear, would you set the table for Angel dear and offer her some tea.  Oh, while you can transform in front of her and her jester, make sure you're out of sight of everyone else before you change.  I don't want anyone startled."

When the waitress comes, Jamie picked up the letter first, and then read it.  She busted out laughing, her usual melodious crackle.  "Igatho, you little scamp.  It looks like she's making good use of that Mage Hand spell I taught her.  Helps with those little pencils."

While Jamie's voice is echoing in Meiou's mind, JB was holding a chair for Angel, with his usual flourish.  He even made sure that there was a vase with a flower and lit candles on the table.

The rabbit sighed seeing Johnny and grumbled seeing him set up that table.
This had supposed to be a private showing to Angel and the lil brat had tagged
along. He then twitched at Jamie asking for Sarah. He grabbed his wrist and pushed
it down grumbling.  "Easy easy. Your getting out in a minute don't rush me ."
Once his hand stopped fighting him he took a breath and said the magic words.
"Requip! Clothing Slot One" he cringed at the bright light starting to emit from the bracelet
upon his wrist as soon the entire room was enveloped in it. When the light finally died down
the rabbit was gone as Sarah was dusting her robes and then patted Johnny on the head before whispering into his ear "Would you be a sweetie and dial it back abit? We can only reel him in so much before he does something about you."

From there the squirrel smiled and stood back up going into the kitchen proper to fetch some hot water for the tea. She returned shortly with the painted flower tea pot and glasses.
"Now what type of tea would you like Miss Angel,and you Sir Johnny?"

  Tark isn't quite sure smashing pianos is the intended lesson, but who knows with kids and their rock music these days (Now with more literal rocks?).

  "Those two at least, certainly deserved everything coming to them Jamie." the Half-Orc prefers the ball pits of justice witchery to the recent subjects.

It's been years since Pyrus has had a head scritch, he'd almost forgotten how nice it is.  He instinctively tilts his head into Jamie's hand with a big smile.  (( http://lefunny.net/wp-content/...es-ear-scratches.jpg ))  But it's a weird sight what with him looking like a human man acting like a happy pup.

To her impish smile he smirks and answers, "Stick with me and you'll have plenty of opportunity for mischief."

When he reads his note Pyrus looks impressed.  "Looks like my kobold minions have done well."

He'll share the note with the others.  Upon noticing the beams of light escaping the back area where Meiou et. al. went, Pyrus raises an eyebrow. "My that's bright.  Nice of him to spare us being blinded."

At Meiou's room:

Angel is only mildly surprised Johnny followed. What is more surprising is that Meiou restrained himself enough to not stop Johnny.

Angel blinks at the swift tea offer. "Nice to meet you, Sarah. I enjoy strawberry tea. But weren't we supposed to rejoin the others as soon as you surfaced?"

She indicates the door, moving for it while looking at the others. She doesn't open the door yet, but rather waits to see if the others decide to go along with what she is suggesting. After all, nobody knows about Jamie's telepathic command.

At the table where the others are:

The waitress has stood there listening with an impish smile. "...sorry, I don't mean to eavesdrop or anything. I just.. I'm a fan. I was one of the people who saw how you set up and caught that cheating fighter. Where are you all from?"

JB just gave Angel a sheepish grin as he offers his own cup for some tea.  “Something tells me that Meiou needed to cool his jets.  My apologies in advance if you feel that there’s two guys fighting over ya.”

Which was definitely the case in Meiou’s head, because Sarah could hear Jamie scold him with the connection.  ‘You’ll do well not to go there with that mouse, rabbit.  That court jester took down four power-hungry would-be despots by now, including one king right off his throne.  Sir Johnny Briz will make short work of you, and then what would I do for a snuggle bunny buddy?’

All of the sudden, something in Sarah’s mind got knocked loose:

Meiou was standing there next to Pippkin in his office.  He was handing him a report on a possible monarch visiting town, with more than enough jewels and coin to attract attention.  “Let’s see.  He’s got two guards, four knights, his queen wife, his prince son, and some jester.”  He turned to Meiou.  “Did you get any names, chap?”

Meiou rattled off a bunch of names that the memory didn’t quite reveal until he got to the end:  “…and the court yester is a mousefolk by the name of Johnny Briz.”

When Meiou uttered that name, the otherwise unshable rabbit gentleman thief, someone who would steal the crown from the Ghaele Queen right in front of the winged elf, felt as if the air plunged to below freezing.  He looked as if someone was doing a tapdance on his grave.

“Johnny Briz?”  Pippkin said, his voice actually showing concern.

Meiou felt himself nod.

Pippkin then ripped the report to shreds.  “We avoid this one.  Nobody is to get even close to this monarch, especially with that mouse jester around!”

As Sarah’s memory returns to the here and now, she heard Jamie’s voice again.  ‘And don’t tell me that you don’t remember that, Meiou!’

Jamie’s momentary grumble stopped when the waitress smiled at her.  She smiled back, turning on the charm. “Oh, you’re just too sweet, hon.  I’m from the Black Forest Coven, where I learned the craft from the three princ—er, the three Grandmother Witches, Snow, Cindy, and Aurora.”  Jamie still calls them by their nicknames, from a time that she could remember if she sits quiet and thinks long enough.  “I’m glad that you liked my little trick there, there’s a lot more where that came from, I assure you.  Once I even settle down into a proper home base, I might even teach some others how to do them.”

Sarah smiled fixing a strawberry tea for her as well as Johnny given he mentioned
nothing else.
"Well Miss Jamie wanted us to get better acquainted before we return to the rest."
 Despite all this being knocked loose in her head it did not
make her filling want to strangle the mousefolk any less. The more she thought about the moments the more an unfamiliar memory flashed.

It seemed to be some kind of smooth stone dome shaped cavern room. A stone pedestal sat in the middle of the room with a familiar looking golden bracelet. The walls seemed to be covered in some writing unfamiliar to Meiou not that he seemed to care much.  In the front the room was a stone door way with a large closed iron door and a stone square had been moved out of the floor. She saw the rabbit climb into the room and go up to the pedestal.

"And they said they couldn't be found. That they were just myth. The lost Bracelets of Persona. Can't wait to show these off!"

With that he reached out touching one and just as he did so there was a bright flash blinding Meiou and knocking him out in the process.

That was all that was remembered but just as Jamie started coming up with questions about it it seemed to be blocked once more or removed. It was hard to say which it was for sure.

"Here you are Miss Angel, Sir Johnny" said Sarah pouring the tea for them.

  "I expect they already tried putting a large rock over the trap door and it didn't work, Pyrus."  Or maybe they didn't think of that yet.  "Though unless they found something since you were last there, I have to wonder what it is that has Drow snooping around their cave."

All this amazing flavorific stuff going on in the other PCs narratives that Pyrus will never be privy to given their propensity for not sharing with the group.  Oh well.

"I'm sure the others'll be interested to know what we do, in any case."

Pyrus heads to the back where Meiou and the others went.

"I just got an interesting note that could lead to some adventure if you're interested.  If we rescue this town from nefarious Drow, could mean some profit."

He shows the letter to them.

The waitress ohs and watches Pyrus leave suddenly then looks at the others with a helpless smile. "Uh.. heh? I guess you guys are always busy what with being heroes and all... I'll leave you be, then."

She bows a little, apologetically and hurries off to do her job.

Angel glances at JB when he apologizes. "Is that what is going on?" she asks in subtle mock surprise.

Angel looks from the tea to Sarah and says, "Why before?"

She had not sat down and was still at the door. Hearing Pyrus' voice, Angel opens the door to look up at Pyrus and smile at him. "Thanks, Pyrus." Then looks over her shoulder at Sarah and JB, "Come along, you two. Sounds like I'll be getting to know you while on the road, Sarah."

She then looks at JB with a smirk. "If what you said is really the case, I want to know. I'd like to help reduce the rifts in the team, not cause them."

With tea in hand, she leads the way back to the others, expecting Pyrus, Sarah and JB to all follow.

Angel could see the twinkle in Johnny's eyes as she shows her mock surprise.  The jester side of the mouse isn't that far under his face fuzz.

'Ooooh, she's playing along with the fun,' Johnny thinks.  'This is gonna be great.'

"Oh, you look like you've never been in a romantic triangle before," he says with his coy grin.  He then looks up to Sarah and gives her a warm smolder.  "I'd like to know more about you too, Sarah."

Meiou got a good look at the twinkle in the eye of the mouse who gave Pippkin Ducaine pause.  That look of utter mischief and prankery in his eyes that made him well known as a Jester.

"What do you think, Angel.  Think she needs something that'll show she's part of the team?"

Meiou was sooo ready to strangle or stab this mouse. Ofcourse between Jamie and Sarah holding him back that likely wasnt going to happen unless the mouse kept picking at him.

"Sir Johnny if I might ask you stop pushing the rabbits buttons please. "
sarah asked calmly and polietely before returning her attention to Angel.

"She felt since you want to keep an eye on Meiou it would be easier to get to know me before we returned to the group so as to get aquainted abit more first and reassure you he is ok."

Upon Pyrus interupting she sighed "and i had just finished making their tea too. Such a shame. I had hoped they would get to try it."

  Even if open doors make commentary much easier to hear, Tark hardly needed that to figure out the general situation unfolding.  Best Angel learn Tark was hardly exaggerating sooner rather than later.  "Unless that teacup she is carrying is empty, Angel will get to try your tea just fine Sarah." Well, unless it was drugged and Jamie didn't want any witnesses. But that would be crazy.

  "Being part of the team means being out here with said team, Johnny.  Unless you're getting ready to ride off with Jamie into the sunset.  Though it would explain the old married couple bit."
