Just an FYI, Toben is still talking with the guard at the edge of the pool. Unless there is an awareness roll he needs to make, I don't think he knows folks are leaving.

Okay, I'm a bit unclear here.  CW4 is all entangled in the vines and whatnot and surrounded by Klale behind and Toben in front.  He appears too weak at the moment to do much, though he is regenerating.

CW2 is dead by Kornari and CW3 is gone, fled into the trees to the west.

CW1 is down  and unmoving.

Which one is Phin trussing up?  CW1, CW2, or CW4?

My bet is on CW4. Although Toben hasn't explicitly dismissed the entangle yet, he could call it off if he see Phin run into it.

Is the man that was stabbed with the fang still alive?  If so we might want to tie him up as well, if it's just paralysis no telling how long it might last.

A common problem: What to do with prisoners. In genera, unless they can be escorted to proper authority, I vote for killing them unless they're useful and can be rendered harmless.

Where we are right now, it feels like we've got 2 options. Strike now and use what little element of surprise we have, or wait until dark where we have more time to stage an attack. Either way, I think it's probably most pertinent to focus fire on their leader... cut the head off, kill the beast.

Maybe if we attack right before they sit down to eat.  If they consume the star every day, then maybe it is to regain there powers.  If we stop them just before they eat, then we might catch them at their weakest.

I like that idea too. I think once we decide on our angle of attack, then we ought to have a pretty good plan.

Are y'all in favor of just a full frontal assault, or have the rogues flank them while the rest initiate from the other side?

OOC: Chapter 4 - Dying Forever

Ok, so it sounds like we have a quasi-formed plan.

Here is my understanding so far:

  • We wait for Pauric's group to leave.
  • We form two groups

    • Group A (so far):
       Ano
       Klale
       Kornari
    • Group B (so far):
       Xar
       Saris
       Phineas
       Toben

  • Group A positions themselves on one side of the camp. Group B will be on the opposite side. Ano launches the already severed head of the cannibal, delivers his message, and runs.
  • If a sufficient number of people follow him, group B will move in to try and collect the star while their forces are split.
  • If none give chase, the plan ends and we wait to see what fireworks erupt when Pauric and Faelorn next meet.

Questions:
Ano, are you comfortable being the only person in group A? Being a monk, I think you are the fastest person out there, so you can probably out run anyone.
If not, who wants to be in group A?

Other options:
Toben just learned a new trick (Invisibility). If an opportunity rises to run in and snatch Nestael, he can invis someone so they can get in and out quickly.
We can also use the invis tactic if the ruse works well enough and the two groups fight each other. We can grab her while the two are distracted with each other.

Thoughts?

If that cannibal leader announces that he is Klale's father... where does that put the rest of us? Who is Han? Is Phin JarJar? Can I be Chewie?

On a more game related note, should we go back and collect his hand at some point? Best case it could be re-attached. Worst case it could be used as a research component for Mage Hand? :)

You could easily loose them... Klale, in heavy armor, is very doubtful. Plus, those cannibals are physically enhanced, which means their endurance is probably superior too.

Split up we are too vulnerable. We may just have to fight them back at the camp after all. At least this time we may have more help from Xar and Kornari.

Taking out Basarshakath or correcting our mistake and dealing with Pauric?

If we can only deal with one or the other, I'd probably lean towards Basarshakath. Pauric is just a man with a small following. Basarshakath seems like it can wreak far more havok.
