Adventure of Wyvern Tor

If you want to continue to do a bit of role-playing in the Stonehill Inn thread, be my guest! If you are getting impatient, though...

Rooms are found for everyone, though not everyone has to stay in the Stonehill Inn if they don't want to, or have other options.

The night passes uneventfully. The morning either comes all to swiftly or not quickly enough, depending on your viewpoint. As Sildar has promised, provisions are provided for everyone... at least 3 days of food and a day of water. If you want to take more water, you can, but water is heavy. And Lureene lets you know that there is a spring-fed stream about halfway to Conyberry. There might be functioning wells in Conyberry as well.

Adventure of Wyvern Tor

Mithra was always an early-riser, unless maybe she was recovering from wounds. Breakfast was being served and she had her share of scrambled eggs, ham and fried potatoes, bread, cheese and nuts. She wasn't expecting it to be an arduous trip, but it looked to be long, and she didn't know when she'd next get a decent meal.

She didn't have a horse. There weren't too many of those that came with the wagons that had a horse. As she thought back, she actually couldn't recall if anyone had a horse.

She associated riding horses with nobility... trying to put themselves above everyone else without every doing an ounce of work in their lives. Owning a horse also meant money. She didn't have enough to buy a horse... yet.

You also had to take care of a horse. She took care of herself; no time or energy for anyone else.

As the others began gathering outside the Inn, the number of people going on this orc-hunt finally registered! It was starting to look like a mob. They were going to need some organization, even if was a loose organization, if no other reason than to keep from killing each other!

"Yo, people!" she called out. She wasn't sure she'd remember everyone's name anyway. "We got any rangers or scouts in our midst?"

"I'm just asking cause they should be out in front. It's been my experience that the spell-casters should stay in the middle."

"What about archers? We got any of those?"

"I can use a short bow. I can move silently. But I am no ranger. I am a city guy" says Darvin.

In reply to Darvin (msg # 3):

Amiri wakes up early and stands by the hearth and casts the ritual find familiar and Sparky, a tiny fire elemental flies out of the hearth.

" Hello, Sparky. I thank you and Kossuth for joining me. "

She then sits and eats breakfast after asking a wench for a bowl of twigs for Sparky.

Thressa having been up a dawn with a Morningstar on his hand. When she reenters  the Inn from outside, she sits at the table and smiles at Amiri.

Artem wanders around the common room for a while in a bit of a morning fog, scratching himself absentmindedly and then stretching and yawning.  As he munches some crusty bread, he answers Mithra: "Not a ranger nor a scout, nor an archer. I fight with my axe and if I need to I throw my smaller axes. Front rank for me."

"Yes, Artem, I've seen you in action," Mithra replies to the fighter. "My questions were directed at those that I haven't yet adventured with."

"I can use a bow, too; I'm just not very good with it. Archers are second rank fighters, perhaps even third rank, depending on the way we group ourselves."

"I can track...in a pinch, but I am much more familiar with...urban environments. Certainly not a Ranger by far, though I have little trouble moving about unseen if I choose." The hooded figure replies in response to the others. He pulls up a chair and leans back against a table. "As far as bows go, I never touch the stuff. I like things up close...and personal."

"The bow I know to use is the small handheld crossbow, but I practice arcane magics for attacking from afar. I'm good in hand to hand combat as well. Generally, I'll be trying to focus on weakening the opponent's offensive or defensive capabilities through magic while everyone else works toward taking them down."
