House Rule: HP and Healing
Somehow, this slipped past me when I started this game. I may have had some other thought in mind, but having since lost my mind, I'm using the rule I use in all my other games.
Starting HP: always MAX
Additional HP: MAX at all levels
Healing: standard in combat, always MAX out of combat. That includes a Short Rest, spells and potions.
DEATH POINT: Basic D&D had you dying at 0 hit points. This was later modified to a negative number equal to your Constitution modifier. Still later, it went to -10.
So, at 0 Hit Points, you make a DC 15 Con check to remain conscious.
At negative Hit Points, you are unconscious and dying, losing one HP per minute until you reach your Death Point, at which point you die after the next loss.
DEATH POINT: -10 (adjusted by your CON modifier).
