"Whoever is sending us these allies seems to have no trouble finding where we are. I doubt they will find themselves stranded away from us. We shall need to make sure to report what we found here to the temples; if there needs to be more step to prevent this undead's resurrection, they will know what they are and have the means to do them."

In reply to Lureene Raventree (msg # 609):

"I concur Lureene. We don't have to worry about loosing anyone important to our adventures. Also, reporting to temples is a priority. As we can not handle armies of undead on our own. "

Re: Adventure of Wyvern Tor, Too

"This has gotten very strange, hasn't it?" Mithra sort of concurred with the others.

"As I understand it, not that I know much about magic, I don't think there's any mind sending folks here... except for the first two... I don't even remember who they were. And they weren't being sent to us but to the mine."

"Because they were being teleported in, probably after those wizards scryed to here, the dormant magic that was already here... left over from the arcane battle that took place long ago...took that teleport as a template and randomly teleported people in. At least it was only people and not monsters or boats or buildings."

"If anyone knows trail signs, we can mark areas with the safe symbol. Otherwise, just write safe. Keep it simple? 'Mine cleared. Dwarves found. Back to town.' That about cover it?"

"So... who's got chalk?"

Re: Adventure of Wyvern Tor, Too

Since no one has any chalk, the messages can be left using charcoal from the braziers.

Once the messages have been written, the group chooses to leave the mine... if for no other reason than because the incessant booming is driving everyone crazy! As long as there was something to focus on, it could be ignored. Now...

Outside, the fresh air and sunlight somewhat invigorate everyone.

Prizzard will need to leave via the waterway to retrieve his horse and, if alone, will meet the rest back at the city.

"That's fine, Prizzard," Mithra tells the Sage. "We were sending two others out that way to inform our guards at the rear entrance."

"Now that we know where the mine is, including its front entrance, we can rendezvous about halfway around the mountain, cause we'll be heading east."

"Those who escort the Dwarves back to town can keep an eye out to the west for any signs of Orcs... if they've made it this far yet."

"To be honest, I don't expect to find any more--we chopped a pretty sizable group of them before we found the mine. I know they breed like cockroaches, but there can't be that many yet."

Re: Adventure of Wyvern Tor, Too

Hatchet, Tas, Ezguar and Johnny agree to escort the Dwarves back to Phandalin and report to Sildar Hallwinter about the mine and the events that happened.

Ubo and Heinrik will go with Prizzard to get his horse.

That leaves Mithra, Victor, Ero, Lureene, Thressa and Cunaar to continue the scouting for signs of new Orc incursions into the region. They'll meet up with Prizzard on the other side of the mountain.

The group has already driven out the Orcs that were camped at the base of Wyvern Tor. That's how they discovered the back entrance into Wave Echo Cave.

They've cleaned out Cragmaw Castle and visited Agatha's Lair in the ruins of Conyberry.

The only areas they haven't been to is Icespire Peak, though they passed it going from Wyvern Tor to the mine, and Old Owl Well. Beyond that is the Kryptgarden Forest on the other side of the Sword Mountains (to the south) and Starmetal Hills to the northeast.

And there's always Neverwinter Wood. You can hide a lot of Orcs in that forest.

"I'd prefer to go to Old Owl Well first," Mithra said, "to work out the dungeon kinks."

"In any case, if we're meeting Prizzard on the other side of the mountain, we'll be that much closer to the Well anyway."

Re: Adventure of Wyvern Tor, Too

Without any other dissenting opinions, the group heads out to circle around the mountain. They aren't in any hurry because they figure it will take Prizzard a bit longer to get through the underground river, come out through the secret back door to the mine, retrieve his horse, and head around the other side of the mountain.

Even though there's no path, it should be hard for the two units to meet up as long as they stay close to the base of the mountain.

It isn't till about an hour before sunset that they meet up.

Almost at the same time, another person makes an appearance. He does not appear threatening.

Re: Adventure of Wyvern Tor, Too

Cunaar was the first one to spot Prizzard.

"Hey, Prizzard!" he called out. "Looks like you made it okay. Where are the others? Did they decide to go off on their own?"

Before Prizzard can answer, Cunaar sees the other person approach.

"Hello, there!" he called out again to the newcomer.

By now, he and the others were use to the sudden appearance of other adventurers. As one of the first ones to sign up as a guard on the supply wagons, he was now sure that the first wagons had been a kind of catalyst to the confluence of events and adventurers in the area. Or maybe it had been the arrival of the Orcs again.

"If you're looking for Wave Echo Cavern, it's back that way. We've already cleared it out, though."

Prizzard only waved. His horse looked well-packed, prepared for any need. The horse even wore leather barding, bleached to a light hue, rubbed with metallic dust, and worked with a white wax polish to help keep the beast from overheating under a harsh sun. This one was bred for riding though, not work or battle.

He wears light grey robes that mark him as a desert dweller. On his hip rests a well made scimitar. "I am here to offer help." Charoum stands beside his riding horse. He pets the horse and walks forward to victor giving him a bow. "I am on a pilgrimage and heard of your quest. My name is Charoum and if evil is to be thwarted I am honor bound to offer assistance."

With no disagreement, the group moves away from the mountain... only about half a mile till you find a clear spot among some rocks that provides a bit of shelter.

There's no indication of any inclement weather coming during the night, but the area is still on a hill so there'd be no chance of a flashflood if there was a heavy rain.

There's enough people that there can be two people to stand watch for each of three shifts.
