Aldon rubs his chin. Nets were certainly not typical weapons asked for, but not unheard of. "Well, certainly doable. Depends on whether you want just a weighted net, or one with barbs and such. The former would be 2,320 and the latter 2,330 gold. Do you have a preference?"

I will have to consider the options and possibly find a way to generate the needed funds to complete the payment for it, at least now I know what the cost will be I'll be in touch with you again real soon. Thank for your time mister wolf. One more question where might I purchase a flute in town?

Aldon is obviously taken a bit by surprise. "A flute? That's definitely a new request. I could probably make you one, unless you want it made from some exotic material or something. Wood or metal, and I'm sure I can whip you up one, if you'd like."

That would be most excellent Master Wolfcrag, I'm not sure what the cost would be for a well made flute.however I do have a little coin left from my last adventure. I've been saving to purchase a wind wood as my people call them, I would definitely want it carved from wood, it makes the sound so much purer. So my good man what would the instrument cost me to have it made now.

Aldon smiles, always glad to see a happy customer, "Well, depends on how much effort you want put into it, and how much you want to spend. I could whip one up in a few hours that'll cost you 5 gold, but if you're looking for truly quality sound then i'll need at least a day or two, maybe a little less if I get one of the boys to help out."

Yes, of course the sound is the most important thing. I would also like it to be decorative as well. I'll leave the details to you Master Wolfcrag. I'm a cleric of the mother and I wish my flute to reflect my love for her. With that said, Borak places 200 gold pieces on the counter. I this is enough to cover the work on such short notice.

Then the cleric leaves the shop.

Having secured another short term order, Aldon heads straight into the shop to begin work. Such a personal item had not been requested in a long time, and he wanted to be sure to do it right for the cleric.

Aldon smiles as he sees his most recent customer returning. He pulls out a velvet lined box, opens the lid, and pulls out quite the masterpiece. "Normally I don't like ringing my own bell, so to speak, but this job was so fun that I kept at it till finished. Some of the best work I've done in awhile, I think." He holds the flute up in the morning light so the sun's rays could illuminate the intricate designs and decorations to the Mother. "Should play a beautiful tone in dedication to the Mother. Play one for me when you camp for the night and come back safe, you hear?" He passes the flute over to Borak.

Thank you Aldon it's breath taking, taking the flute in his hands carefully he holds it to the light slowly turning it taking in every detail of the carving. Oh, Master Wolfcrag. You've out done yourself this time, such detail the precision. Please Sir my I purchase the velvet line case as well. I must keep this work of art protected.

Borak pulls out another 20 gold pieces to go with the 200 he's already paid. after pulling up a stool the cleric sits and brings the flute to his lips. first he runs through the scales severals times. before playing what he calls "A Spring Meadow" (which is about 15 wild bird calls set to a quick tempo. When he finishes there are tears in his eyes.)

after lowering the flute Borak looks over to the shop keeper.Aldon, if ever you need my services for any thing you have but to ask. my flute is truly a work of art. worth easily 10 times what you charged me.

16:59, Today: Borak Annanock rolled 27 using 1d20+7. playing new flute.
(I rolled a natural 20 for the time playing it it's a twice 20 blessed master work item.I was destined to buy this flute)
(by all means you describe the detail send me a PM so I can cut and paste it when talking about the flute.)

Aldon shrugs and offers up the box as well. Certainly not a masterwork case, it was of solid make and would easily keep the piece safe and secure on trips. "It's been a pleasure, sir. If only all my sales went this well. I'm glad you're pleased."

Borak could feel the very presence of The Mother as he played the flute.  A warmth fills Borak and Aldon as the song is played.  They both get the sense there is something special about this flute.

Gedd paid a visit to Wolf's Wares sometime during the day. His shopping list wasn't particularly exotic so he was quite content to speak with whoever was available to take care of a halforc customer, if the proprietor was busy at the time.

One of the assistants sees a new customer enter the shop and hurries over to assist. "Good day, sir. How may I be of assistance?"

The halforc archer grins a very toothy grin at the shop assistant.

"Last time I was here I had some work done on my bow. Nothing so exciting this time, unfortunately. I just need some more arrows. If you have them I'd like to buy 2 adamantine arrows, 6 silvered arrows, 10 cold iron arrows and a spare quiver of 20 normal arrows. Do you have them in stock and how much will that come to?" Gedd asks.

The hobgoblin bounty hunter finally graces the weapons shop. As he is looking around, he spies Gedd. "Ho, Gedd! How are things?" He spots the man talking to the archer, and adds "Aldon, right? How fast can enchantments be added to my axe and shield? I'm just talking minor enhancements to cut through protection and bolster protection, respectively."OOC +1 enchantments to both

"Hello Karon," Gedd greets the hobgoblin. "We had a successful enough trip out to the Amber Woods but probably not as successful as your latest adventure, if you can afford enchantments on two items at once. Well done!"

The assistant tallies Gedd's request on paper and looks up a few figures. "So, I have 2 adamantine arrows, 6 alchemical silver arrows, 10 cold iron arrows, and 20 normal arrows. The total comes to 144 gold, and we'll toss in a couple more normal arrows for free."

When Karon walks in and addresses the assistant, he turns with a laugh, "I wish. I just work for the guy. We could get that done for you in a day or two, though, if your equipment is sufficient quality to hold the enchantments. That'll run you 3000 gold. How soon do you need them?"

"Ran into a young dragon at the end, too. Seems the poor guy was tired after moving all his treasure from a pool of water with a passage behind a waterfall that he dropped a trail of gold before settling down to sleep. I left his treasure alone, 'cept for what was left behind. I hear he's taken the name 'Roth'. How did he come to take that name? I'm curious." Karon responds.

He responds to the assistant "I have 2 rock pieces and 10 ambers. We set out two mornings hence. Can it be done in time?"

"Thanks, that sounds fine," Gedd tells the assistant. He hands over the money straight away.

"I just need a spare quiver, too, to hold about 20 of those arrows. Something simple I can put in my backpack, poking out the top, or strapped on one side of my backpack."

When he is alone with Karon he will quietly explain about Roth the dragon.

"We met him before, down in the tunnels below the city. He and his mother have been living down there for years.

"We ran into his mother out in the Amber Woods. She snatched up our friend Wilric, who is like a brother to us, and flew off to the city with him in her claws. You might remember reports of a green dragon flying into the city a few weeks ago? We chased her back to the city and found them in their lair. The young one had sort of been trapped by a cursed item while his mother was away hunting. We managed to free him and his mother released Wilric in return. As a result we basically became friends. The young dragon was of an age to choose its own name and decided to call itself Roth because of our meeting. It made quite an impression on us, as well. Wyn, Berta and I got a tattoo to remember it by."

Gedd pushes up his right sleeve to show Karon the green dragon tattoo on his upper arm.

"I believe the mother dragon has left the city permanently. We explained to young Roth why it would not be a good idea to eat any of the people in the city, so I am very glad to hear that young Roth has found a new lair and that your encounter with him ended peacefully."

In reply to Aldon Wolfcrag (msg # 96):

Karon hands over a Masterwork Dwarven Waraxe and a Mithril spiked heavy shield, as well as 1 rock and 5 amber. "Half now, half when completed." he says.

The assistant smiles to Gedd before he leaves, taking the money and putting it behind the counter. "We'll have those done by the end of the day, sir."

Turning to Karon, he takes the money same as before, and passes the axe and shield to a worker he calls from the back. "They'll get started on them right away for you, sir."

Looking to both the customers, he adds, "If there is nothing else, then have a good day and we'll see you back soon." When they leave, he turns to help the next person who has entered and is browsing the shelves.
