Re: Business: Hoofers (stable/kennels)
Tanda responds "I am a worshipper of the Mother, singularly blessed. I hope to become one of her conduits in the world, but require formalized instruction. I am an excellent doctor and Animal surgeon, if I DO say so myself." She takes the two burnt eggs and says "I will examine these. Perhaps in the Library in my Temple I can find some useful information. You are welcome to pray and refresh yourself in the grotto. If you have need of lodgings, I have extra room in the bunkhouse. Got a decent cook, too."

Once Borak leaves for O'Malley's Tanda takes her time inspecting the eggs and looking up information in her books.

Re: Business: Hoofers (stable/kennels)
Now that he had some money, and a little more time Borak's first stop is Hoofers, after stopping at the stall his mount is in Borak collects the journals and papers and packs them all into his saddle bags which he tosses over his shoulder, then he goes to find Tanda Brightflower. Finding no one home at hoofers Borak decides to do some shopping first then check back in with Tanda later. The cleric heads for a shop called Wolfs that he's heard mentioned.

A stableboy finds the Oread. "You're looking for Miss Tanda? She's in the Grotto, completing her Investiture. Not sure what title we'll be calling her by, to tell the truth. You want to wait, or observe?" he asks.

Re: Business: Hoofers (stable/kennels)
The stableboy leads the cleric to an open space beyond the main building. A huge scar has been excavated in the stony ground, and stone steps lead down to a natural pool and grotto area. A waterfall adds to the tranquility of the setting. Large caves can be seen from ground level, some with pews, others with scrolls and books. All-in-all, a natural church for the Mother.

In one such room, Tanda can be found taking her Vows, with a priest and an Acolyte in attendance.

Re: Business: Hoofers (stable/kennels)
Long minutes drag by as the Investiture is completed. She then rises, and takes the garb of a Priestess of the Mother. She takes the weighted net offered and secures it to her waist. She takes a symbol of the Mother made of wood, and after getting a Blessing on it, weaves a thong of vines through it and places it about her neck. She bows to the Priest and Acolyte in turn. As she comes up, a huge smile finally breaks through the solemn look she had held. She looks about her Temple Grotto, taking in the magnificence of Nature in a new light. She catches sight of Borak and makes her way to him. "Good day, Brother Borak. I have a bit more information for you. Would you like to join me in a celebratory cup of wine?"

Of course sister Tanda, I would be truly honored. After a pause to enjoy the wine.

So I am indeed curious as to what you can tell me of these creatures I encountered in the forest, as well any information you can add about who has been investigating them other then me.

"As for the added information,  those were indeed larger versions of ant eggs, although something was odd about them. As far as my examination could determine, they derived nutrition from some source outside the egg, not within. Perhaps with spells granted by The Mother, more information can be gained." Tanda pauses to sip again. "I have a friend named Aeos Foldstone who has been looking into this matter and others. Perhaps you should consult him as well."

Re: Business: Hoofers (stable/kennels)
Thank you Tanda I'll do that. and I'll also take you upon the offer to stay here. I've got to meet some one but I'll be back later. With that said Borak quickly finishes his wine then heads for O'Malley's.

Taking a brief break from his work, Aldon wanders into the kennel. He looks around for awhile before catching the eye of someone, "Have you seen Tanda around recently? I was hoping to speak with her."

Re: Business: Hoofers (stable/kennels)
Hearing her name mentioned, Tanda peeks her head out of a nearby stall. "Aldon? Give me a minute. This hippogryph is having trouble laying its egg, and the Mother is helping me ease his discomfort. Be right out." Her head disappears back into the stall.

Aldon blinks, then grins and mutters, "Well, if I had a silver piece for ever time I heard that one." He moves over to look at a few other stalls. Animals weren't really his thing, but he was as much a sucker for admiring them and window shopping as the next person. He calmly waited for Tanda to finish. "Sure. Just came by to pick your brain a little, anyway. No rush."

A few minutes later, Tanda comes out, stripping off her gloves. "Whew, glad that's over. Come join me at the villa, You can try the new wine I just got in." She leads Aldon up to the house. As she is doing so, she turns to him with a speculative look. "Pick my brains, eh? Why do I think you've either been talking to Aeos or that Oread cleric, Borak?"

Re: Business: Hoofers (stable/kennels)
Aldon laughs as he follows Tanda to her villa. "Guilty as charged, though it's not quite like that. One of them came to me for some work to be done. Namely, for some craftsmanship on my part. However, while I want to do it right, I'm not terribly familiar with the Mother. I understand you were recently ordained a cleric of hers? I'm hoping you can point me in the right direction. I need some ideas for how to decorate a flute."

Re: Business: Hoofers (stable/kennels)
"Ah? Better yet, I can show you." Tanda steers Aldon towards the new Temple Grotto, down to the scriptorium. Amid the natural beauty of the grotto, she spends the next hour showing him images and artwork created by followers of The Mother. Most are of natural settings, but some are of the three faces of the Goddess herself. Tanda asks a steward to fetch the wine as she discourses. "I trust this was of use?" she asks.

Re: Business: Hoofers (stable/kennels)
Aldon looks at the artwork with an appreciative eye. "Yes. I think it will be. hopefully, anyway. A flute is a much smaller canvas than any of these. Then of course you have the curved nature of the surface. I will have to think about it. Maybe a nature scene carved into the surface with a ribbon tied at one end? I could maybe add the three faces to the ribbon. Then..." He begins half muttering to himself as he considers some more of the art while they wait for the wine. When it arrives, he accepts a glass and turns back to his host.

"So, I've been so busy recently with orders from the adventurers that I've barely had time to step out of my shops. How have you been? You know, other than joining the clergy, that is." He seems about to say something else, but stops himself, "For that matter... a cleric? When did that happen? Last I knew, you were a happy shop keeper. Didn't even know you had aspirations to the cloth."

Re: Business: Hoofers (stable/kennels)
Tanda colors slightly. "I don't like to advertise it, but I've long been able to speak with animals. I don't know if I was born special, or The Mother took interest in me, but as a result I took an interest in Her. I've long been an expert in animals both from a loremaster and a healer's perspective. It wasnt until i built the shrine in Hoofers that I heard Her voice. When the old temple was ravaged, I took it on myself to build her another. As I consulted with priests and sages for the construction, The Mother helped me learn through her priesthood. I finally took my investiture on the day the Scriptorium was finished. We likely have the best library in town with regards to flora and fauna. And I'm taking on the responsibility of finding a way to reverse the perverse blight which turns animals and insects into aberrations."

Aldon smiles, "Well, I'm glad you found your way to Her, and that it's all worked out." He takes a drink from his glass, nodding appreciatively. "How's that going with the blight then? I've heard stories, but no details. Sounds rather nasty. Anything I can do to help?"

Aldon chuckles, "Ah. I think I left that pocket necromancer in my other pants this morning. Sorry. I'll certainly try to keep an ear open though. Solving that puzzle will likely make things better for everyone." He finishes off his glass and places it back with the pitcher. Taking another quick glance around at the art, he turns back to Tanda, "Well, thanks much for the help. I appreciate it. And don't be such a stranger. If there's anything you need, feel free to stop by anytime."

"You may want to talk to Aeos. I think he is investing quite a bit of time in gathering information about the aberrations. He may have answers that I lack." Tanda suggests.

Aldon nods, "I might have to do that. Probably be good for us all to stay on the same page so we can help support each other. Well, take it easy and good luck with the newborn." He smiles and waves as he exits Hoofers.
