Temporary OOC: Yulina Replacement Options
Player:
Hello!

I might be interested in taking over the wizard in your party. Could you post the character sheet here as well as the current description & character background for me to read through?

Thanks,
Hizzle

DM:
Small info dump.

Player:
Sheet looks good, I would tweak some things but they wouldn't be obvious (Skills, Feats, Specialist Wizard). I would like to go for Master Specialist out of the Complete Mage, so level 4 would be Master Specialist 1.

DM:
Huge info dump.

Player:
Seems good so far. I will give it the deep read here in a few, and let you know what questions I have. As far as the game goes, I didn't see anything that would dissuade me from joining so if you are ready to add me as her player, I am good for theat.

As far as her outlook, I see her as NG with a penchant for mischief so long as it doesn't hurt anyone. She seems to want power not for gain but for preservation, which is perfect for the abjuration route I was intending to go.

DM:
What is a "theat"? :p

And we have several people showing interest, and I intend to involve the players on the decision. Your reaction speed, however, is duly noted, sir.

DM Note: he has consistently replied very quickly.

Player:
"that" lol, silly fingers not listening to me!

So long as I am not at work, I get notifications on my phone so if my response is required I can usually get one up pretty quick :)

As far as Yulina I figured the least amount of rework would be best, and it's a bonus that how I wanted to play an abjurer fits her personality well. Reserved, cautious, but ultimately determined to prevent evil from gaining a foothold. It allows for a lot of roleplay options down the road.

For me, I have DM'd for over 15 years, and played DnD for a bit longer than that. I started with ADnD then shifted to 3e when my group did. 3.5 came out a bit later and we swapped to that due to the smoothing of the mechanics that it brought. If you would like any samples of writing I am more than willing to provide those.

DM:
Alrighty. So you'd be somewhat confident but definitely willing to pick her up and try to go with the flow?

One more day of applications to go, but you are one of the few that voiced interest in taking Yulina.

Player:
Absolutely correct.

Temporary OOC: Yulina Replacement Options
Player:
So long as you could give me a quick rundown on the character (so that I could step into the dynamic easier) I would love to step in for your missing wizard. I post quite often so I can definitely fulfill that standard.

If you have any questions for me let me know.
Good luck

Huge info dump.

1. I was wondering what Yulina's connection to the rest of the party is. She loves them as a surrogate family, but does she have any specific feelings towards the others (friendly rivalry, someone she teams up with a lot)

2. Yulina is someone who, despite growing up in a household of criminals, is very moral. She has seen selfishness all her life and so she goes out of her way to try to be selfless. She (almost) always puts the problems of others before her own and desperately wants to see the good in people (but isn't so naive that she would shy away from a violent solution when necessary)

She has a hidden arrogance though. She stole the book from Pontificus, and the study of magic is the path of someone with a real ego anyway. The magic is very important to her, possibly because it sets her apart from everyone else. She doesn't lord her power over people though, she uses her power to protect and help people and because she is special she puts the weight of the world on her shoulders.

She is good but doesn't necessarily follow every rule. Once she makes a decision she owns it and never lets regret stop her. When Yulina makes a mistake she doesn't obsess over it. She just moves on and deals with the consequences.

In summation: she's someone who thinks very highly of herself but lives by a very Spider-Man esq code.

DM Note:
I just responded to these two points as of 45 minutes ago, so more discussion may follow, and will be posted here in that event.
